MCA-20 takes 14 large photos and 208 small ones in the memory just or future references

to send from your phone to your pc using IRda, you must first copy/move the pics to your phone then disconnect the MCA20, before you are able to zap them over!!!

HEEEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!
Hey all,
I got my MCA-20 this morning. I am trying to send the pics from the phone to my Toshiba laptop running Windows XP. The laptop registers that there is a T68i in range, but the phone says "Connection Failed" "No Device Found - Search again?".
Please tell me what I am doing wrong!! Is there anything I need to enable/disable on the laptop to make it work?? I know I can send images/ringtones from the laptop to the phone.
For your info, I am running firmware R2E006 and the phone is locked to the Orange (UK) network.
Thanks for any help you can offer me!!

Hey Aqu4rius! if i buy an IR, what do i need to transfer the pics to my PC? do i need any program? im not yet sure if i'll buy that
Posted by lvv_77
the pics taken by the mca-20 look great when transferred to your PC. But it doesnt look that well when viewed in the phone. How can I use the pics to show up in my phonebook with the same high quality???
Posted by drhigh5
mpressive:
What are you using to transfer files?? Bluetooth, IR or cable?
My guess is bluetooth. If so what tranceiver are you using? If it is the MSI key then you will need the latest software version which supports OBEX push which will send file to phone.
You can get it here:

Select and download btw12216.zip.

just got mine on thursday and heres a pic from my pathethic apartment...

@lvv_77 - the reason why it doesnt' look good in the phone because the phone doesn't support jpeg format only gif not to mention the size and how it was shrunkto fit in the screen. If you want to have a pic of your friend, and a good quality or at least clear, you have to edit it first in an image editor...lets say Adobe Photoshop. Hope this helps.

I had the exact same problem. I've got an account with orange.net, and like you i cud only send e-mail txt. BUT! the othe day i found this no. on the web : +46701811010. txt this with the words: mca20 and it will send u some settings (if it dosent work first time try again!).
I then when to ne-mail option set the account (MCA20) and under edit chose"connect using" orange.net from my old account. Wola! I can e-mail evey size pics from (mms) 80x60 to 640x480! try it!
Posted by SE68
That is only temparory...if u read the manual for the mca 20...there is a date that this email service will terminate...

Hi drhigh5!
U mentioned that with the latest driver for MSI bluetooth key, we'll be able to transfer pics from phone to PC? Have u tried it before? Btw, the link you provided is for TECOM, and not MSI. Pls clarify.
Posted by ShawO
isnt bluetooth a standard?
@Matty B
my isp e-mail account(iDiGi) allows me to transfer any photo...
even tried one 640x480 the size of 50+kb... worked!

All i wona do is e-mail pics from me fone. like some of the others i can e-mail (with orange.net) txt fine but not pics. that service before work fine (tho like u said it has stopped) tho i selected "connect with orange.net" Shud this matter or not? If so am i right in thinking that i cud just set up another account else where with no drama? Im alittle new to all this u see. I called orange but never get through. Any advise wud be great

@MattyB
Haven't you got a normal ISP Email account? Or is your orange.net account all you have?
If you've got an ISP Email account (for example I use ntlworld.com) you can set-up your phone just like Microsoft Outlook to send and recieve using the ISP account. I can send any size MCA-20 pics via my ntlworld account no problem. The only issue you might have is sending through the ISP's smtp outgoing server, so just insert the orange smtp outgoing server IP address instead. All other settings should be the same as what you put into Outlook.
If you're not using GPRS, you can even set-up a new Data Account on the phone that dials your ISP dial-up number to access your mail.

Exactly...
@Matty B
hmm...
maybe it could be an IP address issue...
try this one from halebop
194.237.106.73
good luck!
Posted by Korova
No, Halebop is just a WAP gateway, it has nothing to do with Email set-up.
The IP addresses you need for Email are for the SMTP and POP server. Because of SMTP authentication from your ISP you can't send mail through their SMTP server, you'll need the SMTP outgoing server IP address of your WAP provider, in Matty B's case orange: 193.35.131.155 And the POP incoming server IP address of your ISP.
This thread explains better than I can. http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=12338&forum=2#post152989
