yes globe:) for those who still dont know. Here: first, call globe cs, then tell them you are using a 6600 phone. Then ask them to activate your globe number for enhance wap(ewap) then wait for 24 hours:) if you already have globe settings just change apn to ewap.globe.com.ph(nokia low end phone e.g. 3510,8310 etc) works with siemens too.

Before nyan, I called up the the customer serviec of globe ph, they insist i have to send an over-the-air message to automaticaly configure my phone. it didn't work for me.
anyway, i am glad that it didn't work for me. my friend paid up for those charges. sabi ko nga wag na lang nya bayaran eh, lipat na lang sya sa smart. sabi nya, it's his fault rin naman, and besides sya naman tlaag ang gumamit.
take your risk, bahala kayo. i rather surf on unlimited WIFI in malls or my unlimited home connectin. at least i know, it's DEFINITLY unlimited though not free. after all, there's no such thing as free lunch

i dont actually care if ewap will charge soon. I have unlimited free gprs with my own sim. And all of my friends are using ewap since january. There is no charge for gprs on their bills. Sa prepaid too, la charge since january:-)

separating the wheat from the chaff in the forums may be difficult, but keep your unfounded information to yourselves. as far as i am concerned, this ewap serice is not a secret. globe does not deny the existense of the service, and I don't get what you're both trying to prove.

I'm on Globe plan and downloaded over 500kb of data using ewap. So far there aren't any visible charges added to my account when I checked my unbilled balance on myglobe.

Actualy, in my own educatd gues, ewap stands for EDGE WAP, and nt ENHANCED WAP since ewap is suposed to be for edge enable phone, d thng y GPRS fones cn use ewap whch is suposed to b only for EDGE, coz ewap only uses gprs cnexion and nt d real edge. maybe its true. But i believe EDGE technology is not yet offered by boy network. you may ask globe what ewap stands for. they will reply ENHANCED WAP.:-)

Whatever this EWAP thing is, could anybody post the settings that need to be configured to enable it? or perhaps a link pointing to a site? or whatever.
I'd like to try this one. I tried Globe CSD and that didn't cut it. I'm on a Flex plan anyway. Maybe I'd see if it comes out on my bill.

@slomo - r u using globe prepaid or postpaid? just call 211 and have your ewap activated. tell them your using 6600 and have configured your unit. coz ewap is for 6600 and edge capable units. then change your apn to ************** that's it!

randyrivera: swerte mo nga, sa ngayon. ever heard of SIM card expiry? if you don't reload your sim for 4 months, your SIM will expire and you won't be able to log-in to your network. you won't get network signal, and "maybe" neither GPRS signal.
anyway, thanks to this forum i learned about EWAP. For that, i had my Smart Amazing Phone unlocked and swapped my Smart SIM to Globe. Gosh, i could open any HTML site for free! Yipee!
i hope this one stays for good.
i'm thinking if i should share this sa myGlobe forum. kasi dami subscribers dun nagcocomplain about blocked WAP sites ng Globe. kakaawa sila they don't know that they can take advantage of EWAP kahit hindi EDGE enabled ang fone nila. Kaso hesitant ako kasi may mga people from Globe na nagmomonitor ng forum na yun.
