In a word, no! There have been no validated reports of mobile phone viruses to my knowledge, even on smart phones.

I take it you have a T610? What's gone wrong with it?

i dont think so...

i still thinking how to write virus in java platform... really hard man...

@lalilulelo

Viruses are just as easy to write in Java as in any other programming language. The thing is:

A. You need to know very well the OS of the device that you are trying to attack, so as to exploit any vulnerabilities.

B. A Java virus for a mobile would still have to rely on the recipient accepting the applet and actually running it on their phone. Assuming that the phone's Java client can actually access and alter the firmware, that is.

c. I could go on for ever, but don't wish to bore readers any further.

Good job as well. The last thing we need is kiddy coders writing malicious code to deliberately disrupt people's mobile phones for no good reason.

I can never understand people's fascination with writing viruses. They are always very simple pieces of code that usually require little programming skill and knowledge to produce. Why not focus your efforts on coding a constructive application? You might even make money out of it.

Yeah, viruses are easy to write, but i think the first place they will appear will be patched versions of firmware from the net. Or patched versions of games (trojan horses), probably distributed through pirate sites.
