She just lives 3 hours south from me. I had a great visit.

Thanks... I try to come in here n there but many familiar faces have gone n left this place. And to make matters worse, being a T-mo USA employee which of course, uses T-mo servce, I've been shafted by SE... No x1, no c905 (at least not after AT&T) and pretty much any high end SE phone coming out will most likely not have AWS support.

I have been with tmob for five years now. They got the best plans and prices. Unfortunately there is no great
phone for 3G on that network available. I am waiting for the Idou and then evaluate my options again. For now my P1i works great and I am ok with GPRS and wifi access to the internet.
Posted by RichLok
I've used SE since 2001 accross Cingular and T-mo's network which works great .. but all the good 3g devices are being locked up by AT&T and T-mo is just sitting and watching this happen. Can't complain about the EDGE speeds but for a high end device, I do want to utilize the 3g band. I'm still tempted to get the x1 since I can get it for a good 200 less than the 800 retail specially since I can bet the Idou will go to ATT. My frustrations with SE and Deutsche Telekom... Anywho, enough ranting. What's new here? Besides all these new faces LOL

@RichLok
I can't believe how different the networks are over in the US.
Plenty of new faces all the time here.
Some old ones too.

Like mine
The Experia X1a is now available here in the US:
http://shop2.frys.com/search?[....]1a&cat=0&submit.x=0&submit.y=0
Special this week $699 at the store.

We need better competition over here. Only two GSM providers.
Posted by Residentevil
Happy Eastern and good luck finding those easter eggs.
Posted by RichLok
Actually, I can get the x1 for around $565.. but to utilise its full potential, I'd have to get it with AT&T..
Posted by Residentevil
You can get it for about that unlocked and unbranded here:
http://www.1shopmobile.com/ca[....]&recview=101&dt=1303&disp=name
or here:
http://www.mobilecityonline.c[....]ked_phones.asp?ManufactureID=7
Posted by RichLok
That is my price unbranded and unlocked with no contract. What I meant was, 3g won't work with T-mo cuz it doesn't support the AWS bands. So I really can't use the x1 to its full potential unless if it's activated with ATT service..
Posted by Residentevil
You are right. 3G at tmob only works if you have 1700 and 2100 band on your phone. Ran into the same thing with my K810i here.

Hey how are the US members doing?
From the news stories we get down here I understand it's pretty tough there at the moment. I heard your building industry is down 75% affecting our exports and your car industry is down 40%, California is turning into a money pit and jobs are disappearing everywhere. Are you guys okay?
Things are not great here economically but I really worry about the state of the US. You guys are not dispensable.

I got laid off two month ago. Job losses are still mounting, consumer spending is still down and one disaster is still hunting the next one. Not everything is doom and gloom however, there are companies that are hiring, unemployment payments are good and things seem to stabilize

I feel for you mate. I was laid off years ago when the company I worked for failed to renew the property lease it had held for 10 years because it was shafted by a tenant who it sub-leased to. That was unpleasant but at least there were jobs around at the time. The job market at present is much worse.

The weather is great and I can ride my bicycle around to save on gasoline. The crisis here was caused by greed and greed won't go away.
Cycling is great isn't it?
I am studying IT full time since July 08 and when my schedule and weather permits, I ride from North Auckland to West Auckland approx 75mins (on my very fast road bike) shower and change then catch a train (or free shuttle bus sometimes) 15mins to Uni. Beats spending money I don't have on petrol.

Are you following the Giro?
Posted by carkitter
No. Pay TV is not within my budget.
Posted by Residentevil
Well I do not have a tv and I watch live coverage of cycling here:
steephill.tv and here justing.tv enjoy.
Also there is hulu.com just google it.

@Miss UK
Good luck with the job interview. Don't work for a zoo, you'll end up shoveling elephant droppings...
Are there any queues forming for the iPhone 3G s? NZ won't be able to take advantage of its timezone this time around because we won't see it until late July.
Posted by Miss UK
haha I was offered a Job as a Birthday functionist with my zoo,
they wanted me to wear a costume and entertain kids lol No thanks!
they then offered me a job working in the kitchen when i turned that down
Ive cleaned up dung before when I did work experience at the birmingham nature centre,
it's horrible work but needs to be done lol
CPW have a good package with them and seem to look after there employees though,
