I haven't been around in a while. Just wanted to check in with everyone here.

Hope you all had a happy turkey day and aren't spending too much of your hard earned money today. You need to save up to buy new phones people, not presents.

@reside - My sister is in the US now pal, and she just queued the long line at Walmart's in California ! She went at around 3 am and accdg. to her there's already a LOT of customers in line outside. Cheap electronic items are: Plasma TVs, Portable DVD players and Notebooks!

You got that right brother. I am saving up for the almighty P990, so I can upgrade my P900. Although I really love it.

Hi everybody! I have a question. If i send Someone a text message, does that person have to pay to recieve it? Because someone told me that u guys there have to pay for recieving calls and mms and text messages?

The short answer is no. The long answer is we do not have to pay for domestic calls/long distance if we have the necessary minutes (included in the plan). SMS/MMS is included in certain plans. That depends on your provider. However, international calls/sms/mms is a different story. That will cost you. But to be sure check with your provider or the person you gonna call.

I know this is going to sound like heresy, but I think I may save up for the i-mate k-jam instead of the next P. All the things I really liked about the P no longer seperate it from the other devices of its type. I still love my P910, but I don't expect it to last too much longer.

I skipped out on shopping and instead stayed home and watched TV. No way I was going out in that shopping madness.

Oh Brutus, not you my friend.

Only 27 days until Christmas. !!!

I'm looking for a P910a trade for my S710.

Any takers?

i'm new in the US, can i get a sim only for prepaid/pay-as-you-go service? everything i saw so far comes with a phone, i don't need the phone as i have a spare P800. what would you recommend - T-Mobile, Cingular, etc.? I need something that comes with data service (GPRS, internet), if there's such a thing. Thanks

Posted by goldenface
:-l @REOWhy are you trading your S710? You will be disappointed with camera which is mediocre and having no Edge will be a big loss too ...

If you have a spare P800, then I would recommend T-Mobile, because they use the 1900mhz band exclusively. Cingular is expanding their 850mhz band. They also use the 1900mhz band, but in some places they only use 850mhz. And your P800 does not have a 850 anyway.

i'd recommend t-mobile. i don't know if their data services work for unlocked phones aside from sidekick..($1/day) + cost of minutes tho..

Posted by Residentevil
I am using the unlimited data plan for 19.99 a month. this way I cruise around the net.

Posted by DJtavo
im in tmobile and before i pay 19.99 dollars a mont and now i pay 5.99 a mont and is the same internet for the same price i can browser 2 opera, netfront, doris, fget, download my emails w/ atachment, can download movies, like 100mb, stream videos too and the speed is of EDGE LIKE 20.00KB/s

but i dont not about of pay as u go

Posted by poli76
I'm using T-Mobile with 6230i and thinking about switch to Cingular....Where are aerias with 850Mhz band only in US...?

Posted by rjcism
i pay $2.99 for full browsing. I use my kjam, and imate jam and everything works fine using IE.. even SSL

rjcism

Just wondering who is your carrier? I’m interested with that $2.99 full browsing like you got. T-Mo has the $5.99 the t-mobileweb, I’m not into the cell phone WEB that much, but I did try the $4.99 before for a month test drive, men its too slow!

Merry X-mas to everybody and goodwill towards men & women & pets.

Posted by Residentevil
To everybody? What did you get for X-Mas

Posted by Marino
i got me a Computer an AMD 64 ATHLON X2 hp m7248n with 19" LCD monitor.

Posted by Residentevil
That is nice. I am gonna buy a new one next month. My old one is already 7years old.

Posted by Marino

Same boat here, needed some muscle to do some Video Editing. I got an eye with the Sony system Pentium D 380, it looks nice but it only has 32bit processor for Home system. I believe Intel Pentium 64bit is available only for server. I choice AMD over Intel coz it runs cooler and it has a lot of muscle, includes TV tuner and remote you can program to records any TV show.

If you are not so critical with the speed, Costco has HP AMD Athlon 64 X2 280 with a very nice 21” flat wide screen, lots of bells & whistle.

note: away from subject matter.. cell phone

Any of you interested in selling a P910a ???

And he didnt knew it too. We were tryin it but it didnt work out :-S

Posted by Miss UK
Janet If I vaguely recall im sure it's +1

Posted by Janet_k500i
but when i try that, it doesnt work

Posted by Residentevil
When you call to the US from abroad it is 001 then the area code 909 then the number .... ... Or you can try +1 the the area code. From the us to abroad it is 011 the country code 46 for example etc.

Posted by Dj Boyi
Its +1 to ring the USA from outside it,i make a call to Oregon now and again

Posted by ADT0079
1 then the Numero

Posted by Janet_k500i
Is it then With or Without the area code? I tried every option but my txt does not send to him. And he cant send a message to me too! Dont know whats wrong Because i always send int txt messages all my friends are studyin abroad...

Posted by Residentevil
Check with the network provider. International access has to be activated. Most the times this activation is free.

Posted by Dj Boyi
+1,then area code, then the number. Works for me,activation is similar to having ur mms activated.

Here at my end, I just ADD the number 1 before the mobile number, no more the + sign . . . I frequently send SMS to my Uncle who resides in San Ramon, California.

I tried everything but still i dont get a delivery message

@janet - Better contact your (local) network provider. If the message is that important and still have no other recourse, contacting them thru/via their email addy is the fastest way . . . for now.
