BT is catching on quickly. When I first got a phone with BT almost 2 years ago nobody knew what it was and everybody thought it was just a gimmick. Now most people I know are like "wow, bluetooth headsets are really great!" So people haven't gotten to know the full use of bluetooth yet, but at least they know it exists and they all want it. When more smart phones show up with BT synch, and more computers come with BT built in, then I think it will really be important here.

@Knight4led. What a perfect opportunity to become Bluejack King of the US of A! Go gerrem!

There are not that many on Esato. Plus they do not have the patience to sit there and type.

When I was at the airport in Chicago I saw quite a few bt phones. Unfortunately they were Blackberry's and I was not able to Bluejack them. Not like that really I did.

@Goldenface

Hmmmm... I may have to move to Europe

@ Residentevil

I was in Chicago's airport on 7/31 I had a grand old time with about 6 or 7 Nokias....... It was a great way to kill time on a connecting flight to Phoenix.

Ummmm..... Oh yeah..... I was on my way to a business trip.
Yes..... businessmen also know how to bluejack and have fun

Hello all americans!

Posted by JK
Moto is american right?? thats why the v3 is so popular.

Posted by Ayush
yeah moto has its roots in the US of A

Posted by knight4led
Moto may be American, but that doesn't mean that anything comes out here first. With the noteable exception of Push-to-Talk. That has been around for years.

Posted by Residentevil
Nextel got really popular with that and a lot of contractors are using it.

Posted by knight4led
seems like most businesses I know use Nextel. Good for them I suppose.

I don't understand Boost mobile though. Who is their intended client base?

Posted by Residentevil
Boost mobile? Never heart of it.

Posted by knight4led
it has really annoying TV adds with like rappers and old people. I don't get really. Who thought those two would go together?

Posted by Ayush
Boost is local?

Posted by knight4led
no Boost isn't local. It is another network with Push to Talk like Nextel.

How soon after the launch of the P910i was the P910a available?

Posted by knight4led
I got my P910a at the end of October. So I think it was like 2 months different, but I'd have to check the official P910i release date somewhere.

As far as I know, I had the first P910a that expansys sold. So I should have gotten it fairly close to the release date.

Anyone out here experiencing problems with Cingular?

I have Cingular service and all my outgoing functions work perfectly fine. I have not been receiving any incoming calls or messages since last night. I live in the Boston area and I guess I am experiencing this problem in a 60 mile radius that I have checked out since last night. I have a K750i and reception is mostly 4 or 5 bars where I live. I tried my K700i and I have the same problem. However if I use a phone that has the 850 MHz frequency (Nokia 3200(b) or T616, everything works fine. Cingular customer service is closed today and I dont even think they will ever fix this problem for me because they would say I am not using a phone that was issued by Cingular.

Just wondering if I am the only one?

Posted by REO
@ rambalu80

I have friends at Cingular who recommeneded me against the K750 as Cingular is converting most of it's 1900 MHZ to 850.

Also to get through the 1900 MHZ on Cingular now, this must be filtered through 850 then 1900. This could be the problem. It's some

You will experience times in where you will lose signal or have minimal signal. 1900 will be a back up for Cingular.

@ knight4led

My question on the P910i and P910a was due to my anxiety on the next P series. I've been holding of for months on purchasing a PDA phone.

I'm hopng that it has WIFI and 850MHZ band. I need a PDA for work and don't know how much more I can wait.

The P910a would be Ideal, however am hoping for same specs on the next model with WIFI included. I spend alot of time in airports and WIFI
means remaining productive for me.

@ REO

Thanks for the reply and I have heard about this before. I have been using non 850 Mhz phones from the day I switched to Cingular from AT&T and I have never had any problems. Even right now I have excellent reception and all my outgoing calls are static free and perfectly fine. However, none of my incoming services seem to work. My phone doesnt indicate when a new voicemail is received, but if I check my voicemail, I have messages from people who tried to call me. If I call them back they tell me that my phone did not ring and the call was directed to my voicemail right away. I just dont understand why outgoing would work and not incoming?

Posted by knight4led
@ramba, there is someone in the P series section that has a P800 and is complaining that Cingular voicemail notifications stopped working recently. That phone does not have 850 either. It seems it must have something to do with either Cingular branding or the 850 band since I assume your T616 is branded and has 850.

@REO my P910a is working fine, but to be honest, when I upgrade, I doubt it will be to the next P. It just seems so far off in the future and with no really convincing leads, I am not really waiting for it. I plan to get the HTC wizard because it is small, has a keyboard, WiFi, PDA functions and whatnot. Also, there is a rumor that it will come to Cingular sometime around October or November.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it is Quad-Band and has EDGE

I got my phone to work this morning. I called Cingular customer care and they fixed it for me. I was asked to power cycle my phone and while I was doing it, the rep sent some kinda message to my sim (I was told so) and everything works fine now.

hey are you guys all ok? i heard about the hurricane

Posted by Residentevil
Anybody from the Hurricane hit area here?

Posted by knight4led
I hope nobody here got hurt by the Hurricane. The devastation I have seen on the news is pretty severe. Unfortunately I don't think they will be checking in here if they were affected by the disaster.

I hope that relief efforts find all the victims quickly. I know it will take a long time before New Orleans or Biloxi are recovered in any real sense.

Posted by Ayush
Anybody here from missisipi or new orleans?

Posted by Miss UK
OMG hello

What has happened in New Orleans is terrible,
I hope you are ok.. if any are from that area

Posted by richy240
I'm from Houston, but we weren't affected - directly anyway. There are refugees coming here by the busload (literally) and living int he Astrodome until they have something to go back to. From what I am hearing, it could be months.

Posted by REO
I'm in Florida and we had 4 Hurricanes hit us last year in a span of about 30 days.

Broken roofs and trees going through roofs is no where near what New Orleans has gone through. I hope they get quick relief.

Houston, Texas is doing a tremedous job in accomodating refugees on a daily basis.

I am amazed at how quickly the human spirit can be turned to a disgusting animal in the face of a little tragedy. Inevitably people turn to looting and destruction of property at that slightest bit of unrest. It is unfortunate to me that the Governor of Louisianna had to give soldiers orders to shoot looters on sight, but I do not feel sorry for them. I know conditions are miserable there, but given a chance, people with commodities in situations like those usually share. Grocery stores give out food and drug stores give out supplies, no need to loot, just give the owners time to organize.

As for everyone else, I say good work Houston. They aren't even waiting for government funds. The city is housing refugees out of their own pockets. I hope other closer cities do the same. I have personally thought of volunteering my time since I don't currently have a job. I hope things get better rather quickly.

I sand all the power from Chile for you, we hope soon past all!!

sorry for my english!!

Posted by Ayush
how's the situation in bixoli? doesn't the nostradamus theory seem true

Posted by goldenface
@knight4led.

I would not shoot anyone who was looting Grocery stores for food and fresh water. Although some of the reports of murder and rape have been quite disturbing.

It will take years for New Orleans to get back to normal.

There has been a strong political backlash regarding the scale and speed of response. I would like to hear of anyones point of view regarding the accusations of racism, and of Bush caring more about Iraq etc.

Posted by Residentevil
In reality they should rebuild the city somewhere else. If you build in a flood plain you are asking for it and the insurance gets more expensive for all of us.

Posted by Ayush
but where else? a competely new city? maybe death valley (no floods there lol)

if ppl arent gettin food and supplies they have a right to eat methinks and thus looting seems ok..what? should they starve to death?

Posted by ADT0079
Maybe Nowhere some times you have to face the fact that it is not safe to rebuild and probaly wont be ever.......

And i agree with Knight and the looters.. Food alright but i saw alot of nikes ,throwback jersys, tvs,.dvd players and such being looted.....

As for the Response of are goverment,The Mayor and Govenor should hold most of the blame here...They did not inform these people fast enough, there the ones that thought they could control there city after the fact and they couldn't so thats when they ask for federal help, but that was 3 days later.....Everyone is saying Fema was not Quick enough.....People have to Realize that Fema just went thourgh 4 Hurricanes,And they where spread thin and there supplies also but what can you do snap your fingers and make these supplies appear we cant...Back to the Mayor and Govenor why did they not dispacth there public bus fleet and use school buses or all the other means they had to get these people out before the storm hit,Where was the thinking there ,and even if they did use there public transport to get these people out, theres a good chance they would not have left....Last and this is the big ???? Would you go in and help people that are shooting at you from rooftops because your there trying to help????Or a nurse going outside the front doors of the hospital to help someone and being robbed and carjacked....I know if im trying to help someone and someone is snipering me from a roof ,,Good luck because im out of there...I feel bad for the people that sufferd because of there own people being ignorant...........

This is another chance for the Bush Haters to come out of there closet....I dont think he is that much to blame for this,he does hold some blame but not the way it is being deliverd through the media outlets.....

How is every1 it's been awhile...

Posted by knight4led
I am with ADT on this one. My point about looting was not just about food and water. It was that people were looting far more than the necessities and the owners of businesses that could provide for others around were being shot at. There is no way to make your goods available if you are being shot at and kept from your store.

I have a more personal connection to this than some because my brother was caught in Hurricane Ivan when it hit Granada. He tells stories of how the entire community of students and locals gathered perishables and cooked them so they wouldn't go bad before they could be eaten. They went around siphoning gas tanks a little at a time to run generators and they organized a system so everyone could make a few calls on the one or two working phones around. Not only that, they saved enough gas to run buses back and forth to the airport once flights were able to come in and out. Now these were a bunch of Medical students and impoverished islanders. Sure there was looting and such, but it was quickly put to rest anywhere around the organization efforts, because working together is much more helpful than screwing everyone around you. Now if these people could figure it out, why coudn't the people of New Orleans?

Can someone tell me the prices of there phones k3/k500 and k700
