@adt didn't you go through this once before? coudn't find anything you really wanted back then, doubt if you will now. I hope that T610 hangs in there though.
@paulbang I don't really know which is the better option. It can be rather difficult to get into grad school these days. It all depends on whether the bachelors program is good where you are at or better wherever you can get accepted in the US.

I got my PSP for £140 when my mate went to china, very lucky, I wouldn;t worry about a £179.99 tag, becuase it firstly is worth it, and it will most certainly drop in price soon!
Posted by knight4led
that just seems a little steep. My pal got one for $250 two days after it launched here. I don't personally have a use for one, but they are cool.

Posted by knight4led
might be waiting quite a while for it to drop from 179 to 100 quid.

@RES and that is why i will go with cingular because they have The SE phones.
Posted by gr3gg0
anyone got any news on w800 release....
Posted by knight4led
haven't heard anything about it in the US yet. There is news that the D750 will be released, but we don't know if the functions will mirror the K750 or the W800 yet.
Posted by Residentevil
Well with me travelling there are only two GSM frequencies. 900/1800. So with a regular triband phone from Cingular 850/1800/1900 your are only getting one. With T-mobs 900/1800/1900 tri-band phones you get them both. That is the reason I stay with T-Mobile. I buy unlocked, unbranded phones anyway, because I do not like orange.
Posted by knight4led
best way to go if you travel all the time is a quad band phone. I know some of em ain't the most user friendly or the most attractive, but if traveling is important...
XDA IIs and the Treo 650 are both quad-band I would seriously consider those instead of a P910.

I can wait not in a hurry
Hey @ all. I wanna know, do you know if USA networks eg. T-Mob, Cingular - Prepay actually will work across here? ive just looked at there web addys and it's like watching paint dry not so easy as the UK networks terms etc..
I need a bloody US American activated Sim (Prepaid) thats registered and will not be cut off? they don't cut them off if ya don't use them do they?
Reason I need this sim is to Access www.upoc.com Richlok lent me his number but yesterday I login and find I can't send msgs, nor ask groups questions.. I am truely pisssst!
I need a BLOODY American phone number to activate my account again GRRRRR somebody help a damsill in distress lol
Posted by knight4led
I think they work mostly like UK pay as you go. Just put some money on it, and its good until it runs out. As long as you have money on SIM it should never be cancelled.
Posted by Miss UK
Yeah Im gunna have to E-mail these US operators,
if I can find there contact details that is
Any of you guys got a spare sim hanging around lol?
fancy loaning me the number just for upoc
Posted by knight4led
I've never really even heard of Upoc til you mentioned it. Sounds interesting enough.
I would lend you a SIM if I had one, unfortunately the only spare SIM I have is from Orange in the Netherlands
Posted by Miss UK
Orange.nl did you go over there then? thats why you have the sim
been looking on eBay for USA sims
for gods sake upoc should just change there numbers to 11 digits instead of 10.. how come the American ops have to have be different lol they should have 11 digit's to aswell as Europe
Just looked at your P910i disection OMG OMG.. thats a no no job for me
I took my Quickshare tingy off and didn't relise it was so awkward to put back on, ive marked it abit with my long nails
anyhows time for bed.. Got loads to do today :-/
night
Posted by knight4led
yeah, I was all over Europe a little less than a year ago. My T610 served me well on that trip. Can't tell you how many international SMS and emails I sent from that Orange NL SIM.

Hey guys do you watch the NBA finals?
Posted by Residentevil
Not really. Since MJ retired it just isn't the same anymore.
Posted by knight4led
haven't really been following the NBA. I'm a hockey man myself, and disappointed to see that next season probably won't happen either. I suppose I am gonna have to start watching more basketball.
Posted by maki101
I watch the NBA becouse of the lots of Serbs that play there like Vlade Divac, Predrag Stojakovich, Radmanovic, Rebraca...
But there is not a lot of them in finals
Just Dejan Milicich who don't really play
Cheers

@knight The NHL and the players have reached a salary cap agreement there are a couple more aspects left to work out like draft. But the biggest problem has been worked out.i think we will see a season this year
Posted by knight4led
well I certainly hope we see a season. I've been without hockey for far too long.

Do you still use it? lol get me a US Sim and i'll swap ya for a Unregistered UK Orange enn.. bought it last yr tbh can't be arsed with it
Im mainley using my Contract 24/7 with 02
Posted by knight4led
I don't still use the Orange NL SIM. (Or did you mean the T610, cause I use that on occasion. Especially when I travel and on't want to worry about my P910.)
I don't really have a use for an Orange UK SIM either. I'll look into US PAYGO SIMs for you though.
Posted by Miss UK
Hello
Yep, I was asking if you still used it.. nevermind
How long you had your P910i? did you buy it from somewhere in the states? or did you import it from here, or elsewhere?
Righty that's nice of ya.. let me know the score over these Sims
Thx pet
Posted by knight4led
pet huh? Not sure if I should like the direction this is heading in or not...
I've had my P910 since about October, so about 7 or 8 months. I bought it from Expansys, not from oversees or anything cause I wanted the P910a.
Posted by Residentevil
knight your are using Cingular?
Posted by knight4led
yeah, been with Cingular for quite some time too. If they actually had a phone I wanted I might consider using my upgrade.
Posted by REO
Is anyone here on the Cingular Media works package?
If so.... Do you WAP or are you able to use HTML on the P910a?
Posted by knight4led
I'm able to use HTML on the Media Works package.
Posted by REO
What phone are you using?
Posted by knight4led
P910a, but lets see if it shows I posted from it
Posted by Residentevil
No it does not. I think it only shows it when you post from wap. Does anybody here know what happened with globalmob.com?
Posted by knight4led
@Res, seriously I was thinking the same thing. Went to check their site the other day and its all funky. I wonder if something happened.
Posted by REO
I'm on Cingular with Media works package. I want to be able to view pages as I would on IE. Currently I WAP a great deal, however would like to view pages as if to be using IE.
How are you folks viewing your pages? WAP or HTML? I know there are programs such as Webviewer, however they take forever to load graphics. I have an S710 which has the same specs for Internet as the P910.
Is it possible to view graphics as one would in IE?
Posted by Residentevil
I usually use full html as my first choice. If there is trouble, I switch to mobile.esato.com. I don't use wapif I can avoid it, coz the menus are so limited.
Posted by REO
What web browsers would you recommend since I don't have a built in browser on the S710?
I guess I can purchase one online. I just need a good recommendation.
I tried webviewer ( Trial Version) and it downloaded pages extremely slow.

LOL its not heading anywhere.. just a friendly term
did you manage to find any info regarding the PAYGO sims?
is there anything different btw the P910a/i I guess it's the us version correct?

Yeah I know it was just friendly, just having a bit of a laugh.
Haven't really had a chance to check into it much this weekend. Busy being young and whatnot.
Yeah, the P910a is just the US version with the 850 band. Otherwise identical.
Posted by Residentevil
I would call the P910a the Cingular version, because nobody else uses that 850mhz band.
Posted by knight4led
Rogers in Canada use the 850 band as well as several providers around Latin America. So Cingular is not alone in using this particular band. Besides, AT&T was the one pioneering 850 prior to the Cingular buyout.
Posted by REO
I'm glad they have added EDGE technology.
It's beautiful..... Nice and fast downloading.
I would say the equivalent of what DSL is to PC's. Well...... almost... : )
Posted by knight4led
the only thing I wish I had on my P910 would be EDGE. I would love increased data rates, but I can live with what I have.
Posted by RichLok
What do you guys think of the w600??? That may be a cingular product but not the w800
Posted by REO
Cingular has a contract with Nokia. This contract stipulates that all candy bar style phones will be purchsed only from Nokia.
That means no K750 or it's variation nor W800.
W600 is similar in form factor to the S series. I'm pretty sure that Cingular will carry the W600.
I didn't like at first sight. Now I do like it. It's cool looking Memory is ok. It has EDGE. I LOVE EDGE..... My S710 is a keeper.
I'll stick with this phone for a good while.
Posted by knight4led
good to see you around RichLok. How is Vegas?
I like the W600. If its out soon I would consider using an upgrade to get it. I think its a little more gadget looking and not as sleek as the:se:s we are used to, but nice overall. A huge plus is the size and EDGE.
Posted by RichLok
I've actually returned to LA. I'm doing good.. I'm so hooked on the w800i that I'm willing to sacrifice the 850 band to have it.
Posted by knight4led
do you have the w800i already?
Posted by REO
Anyone here Intrested in trading a P910a series for an S710a series?
Depending on the swap, I have a two month old and a brand new never used in it's original box.
