I have T310, and my battery last about 5 and a half days. I use it, well, let say "normaly". No WAP or GPRS, very light camera use, also light game playing, from time to time download from PC, mostly talk and SMS. And I was worried as battery on my previous phone(T20s) last longer. But, when saw your posts, now I wonder do I have some super extra deluxe abnormaly great battery
Regards.

Hi, I just bought a new Z600 and have use all the battery life before charging it for 14 hours. The problem is, it still show charging after being charged for 14 hours. Is this normal for a new battery?
If this is normal y I dun get the fully charge status? What is the best time for charging the battery? Do I need to send my phone to the service centre bcos my phone is not more than 1 week?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I get about two days from my T610. Less than two days when I'm in the mood for testing stuff and the light's on, gprs connected and so on alot during a day. On vacation with the phone just sitting in my pocket on standby i get more.
My gf's battery I don't know about, I have a regular one running on food

it is cool not to worry about your phone.. i charge mine only once a week...
but i should say that my phone usage is moderate. soo.....
but still one week pretty cool
i must say that my sisters business nokia keeps going for 3 weeks.... but i wouldnt trade my T68i for a nokia.....
Posted by Neil Chen
My R520 used to run for a week with about 5 or 6 SMS a day and 20 mins of calls as well as GPRS usage.
My t610 cant match it but thats what one expects from a full colur display!

I once got ahold of a laptop that had sat in a warehouse for probably over a year, it was a p1 so I think it had a ni-cad, anyway it didnt hold a charge for more than 5 min at a time, so I took an extention cord and cut it and striped the ends, puged it into an ac outlet and zaped the battery, the resulting charge through the cord melted the plastic insulation, and i had to reset the fuse for the outlet. Anyway I charged the lapto battery for a few hours and now it lasts about an hour and a half.
oh yea, DONT TRY THIS AT HOME

My p900 has a battery.
there designed extremely well these days and are designed to be fault proof. in all the phones ive had i have never had a problem with a battery. and ive never paid any special attention to them either.
out of sight, out of mind....
this message was posted on a really cool phone

where can i view the standby time & talk time??? im using a t68i and my battery last only for 10-14 hours! gosh! im so disappointed... it is just a 2nd hand bcoz my brother gave it to me...

@jheng_love
Are you a heavy user? Do frequent places that have low or fluctuating signal (from your operator/service provider)? If this is the case, then it's just about what you would expect from your battery.
But, if this is is a second hand phone, it might also be time for a new battery. Check this by temporarily swapping batteries with a friend, and checking if that battery lasts longer on your phone. Or, if you have the time, go to a
service center and have them check it out for you.

thx Orang3.

Charge your battery as often as you can!
Posted by celltech
not all the time the battery could be at fault it can be the handset itself. Your handset is like a car it must be serviced from time to time, what happens is the handset uses recieving and transmitting signals, these signals do go out of alignement which causes the handset to use more power, thus reducing the battery life.

i wonder if its just me, or has anybody ever noticed that when the T610 (or any other
phone for that matter) is fully charged, and then u turn off the phone, the batt meter indicator thingy is still moving, indicating that its still on charging mode....? and will i do damage to my phone if i leave it to charge overnight, say more that six hours? got a bad experience charging my T29 overnight, it went kaput the next morning! fyi, i've had the T610 for bout 8 months now.
thanx!

hello? anyone?
Posted by 701
@soichiro: Yes, happens to mine too and the reason for this is that as long as the phone is turned on , the battery is protected by the "optimized charge" software while turned off is not.Just charges and charges untilthe battery is full but not electronically controled.Just try and charge it while u keep it on, it's better cuz it's controled.

Thanks alot for the info, I just bought my p900 it's the amazing but the battery seems to be losing it's charge pretty quick, I think it's because I don't stop playing with all it's functions but I've seen on this forum somewhere that the booster does'nt help either.
Posted by soichiro
gee, thanks @701.
Posted by 701
@soichiro: it's ok i do that also nightly. As long as u keep it switched on, no problem will occur.I tend to say that if u also keep it off and charge it all nite it's ok, but just to be on the safe side, keep it on .I also do that and no prob til now( i have it since august 03).

appreciate it. thanks a million!

And to think that I've been turning my T616 OFF when I charge it, thinking it would charge faster & better...
Posted by kimcheeboi
my t610 charges like crap (the battery DRAINS!!!) when i charge with it off.
BTW, does anyone else lose 3~5 percent of battery power when the turn their fone on/off?
Posted by 701
@kimchie: no, not when i turn it on but as soon as i talk 15 mins with it or i keep it in stand-by around half a day, i loose 5% or 10%...damn battery
Posted by limgt
Erm, I'm using T630. Whenever I plug in the charger, it says "Optimized Charging" and the battery bar starts animating until it becomes full and stop moving. Is that when I should pull off the charger or should I wait till some other messages come out like "Battery Full" or something?
Posted by Ayush
@kimcheeboi yes there is some battery bug with most se phones! Better take it to a good
service center! @limgt no u dont have to wait for any message. It means ur batt is full! Posted by MTNT68i
Whatever happened to the battery indicater for the T610. im talking about the feature you could see on the T68i which indicated the batterylife in hours and minutes... why isnt it on theT610?
Posted by BobaFett
it wasnt very effective, as written here before in many threads, at t68, r520 etc didnt worked well. however, i miss that too. worked great on t28, r320 etc
Posted by shadoweaver
@kimcheeboi yup i lose some battery life (i'm not sure how much) whenever i turn my t616 on and off. i think its because booting or rebooting the system takes up some battery life.
Posted by Ayush
But do you know normally it should not better take it to
for a checkup.
Posted by 701
Actually it should happen this as when the phone reboots it measures corectly the energy left in the battery and shows adecvate. So it's normal.

With every phone I've ever had I've always waited for the phone to tell me the battery is flat before recharging it, no matter what the type of battery is. The way I see it, phones are built so that they won't run the battery into the ground, i.e. when they say it's flat, it's probably still got about 10% of total capacity left, but they don't allow to use it because that would be a "deep discharge" and cause problems.
I usually get about 4 days out of my T610, depending on how much I use it. I don't make or receive a lot of calls (maybe 10-15 minutes a day) but I do text quite a bit. I turn the phone off when I go to bed and turn it back on in the morning, so it probably runs for a good 16 hours a day. I'm happy with it

I think this guide is very nice BUT why would you expand the battery´s power? I mean it works fine until the phone is old and then you are interested in a newer one..
Posted by michka
You mean you change phone every other day?
Posted by Rizzter
hehe.. not really
Posted by 701
I have my t610 for a year in August and i can see the stand-by has decreased. Not a lot but it did...just a natural way of going to trash soon

ok i have a battery related question but i dont want to start a new thread so i'm reviving this one.
If a particular battery has a life of say 500-700 charge cycles (indicated by manufacturer), then if i keep charging the phone when its at half power and stop charging when its full, does that count as a charge cycle ?
Is the battery really limited to this number of cycles or can it last more ?
what happens after this 500-700 charge cycles ? Does the battery stop functioning or lose its capability to hold a charge ?
Posted by Siosal
Charging when the battery is only half empty does count as a charge.
The battery will simply not charge when you plug it in if you have exceeded the cycles. The number of cycles depend on operating temperature. Conditions under which it operates. Charging using a car charger. Any number of variables. Ion and polymer do not usually degrade in terms of capacity, they simply stop working. Or at least charging.

ok thanks

what i do during chrging is that i turned off my handy.
Posted by Rice_geek
Because you get the best battery life when you charge it in a power off handy.
