don`t worry about
it, a bit of humour is fine, as everybody on here is just killing time in the mistaken belief that a new high tec touch screen phone may be introduced to the line up.

Oh, thanks.

Your info is very helpfull. But let me add a simple trick i used:
Having a battery (NiMH) that wouldn't last longer than 3 or four hours i discovered that if you putted the battery (discharged) in the freezer for a couple of hours, then let it get the normal ambience temperature and after that recharge it, it would make the battery last longer than it used to.

This procedure sets the battery to a "normal state" and "loose it's memory".

Remenber it was a NiMH battery.

Why not give it a try, since the batt is going to recycling (please recycle your batteries).

Let me know if it worked for you guys.

Hi.
I've charged my new T68i 4 times and I had about 280h standby time. But after that I have suddenly only 55h standby, but 8h talk time after full (2h) charging. I'm not using my phone to much and I'm in fully signal coverage. Do I have wrong battery or can someone explain to we, what is going on? Thanks.

My t68i normally lasts about 3 days...
But then I use it alot.
I've tried a few times to see how long it lasts if I minimize use but I just can't keep my hands of it

The phone rules over all others.

it is good to know whenever the post started, so keep it on , keep it sticky:)) I had only li-ion batteries for the last 3-4 years but now i have a motorola with a Ni-Mh battery so...i gotta read all this stuff (i already knew) )

That is not true with all batteries. Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer batteries DO NOT develop a memory. The battery that has the biggest problem is a Nickel Cadium battery, followed closely by a nickel metal-hydride. The reason that Sony Ericsson uses the Lithium Polymer batteries on T68i's is because they are not prone to developing a memory. Laptop Computers have been using Lithium Ion batteries For years for that exact reason.

Posted by randyrivera
the reason why ericsson uses li-ion mainly i think is because, li-ions are thinner and bigger mAH, they can hell save a lot more if they package a metal hydride

so does that freezing trick work on p800 batteries? also does it only work if u have used ur battery for a long time? or does ithelp if u just got it?

Posted by dego
Hmmm why do SE recomend that u charge battery for 10 hours and then use it all up until it's dead. Repeat this process 3 times, when u buy the phone (t300)?
If battery doesn't develop a 'memory' why would this be neccessary?

Is it fine to use the fone while charging?
Thx

hello guys

it's all the same

SE batteries are the best! Didn't used to be like that but they sure have made improvements compared to Nokia and Moto.

Posted by 701
@amagab: what do u mean? I agree on better batteries but on the other hand a nokia 6210 battery keeps on going for at least 5 hours of talk time ( almost as the t68 ot the t68 almost like the 6210?) and motorola that sucks big time on batteries (i always knew ppl changing them at every 6 moths)!
so what's ur point? u get a cheap phone u also get a cheap battery..simple.this has never changed on se

I remember my first mobile back in... whenever....
It was a Motorola MR1. It came with a desktop charger that discharged the battery before charging it up again. Is there anything like this for the SE T68i?

Thanks in advance

Posted by 701
u don't need this anymore cuz we have li-ion batteries now:) But i guess they dont do it anymore these days, but u can always call someone to discharge ( or call a free of charge robot ,as i do ):)

Posted by cyanx7
u guys talk about 350 - 390 standby hours

my phone after charging for about 4 hours gives me +/- 220 standby hours!

what am i doing wrong

i'm feeling like a poor cousin of yours

Posted by wilbertski
always drain your battery until it went off . i usually charged it during when im going 2 sleep . after waking-up , its fully charge .
unlike nokia , other fone . 1 bar left oopss time to recharge it .

i really works ...

Posted by girigiom
My T68 actually never reached a point where it said more than 190 h.

I guess something wrong with it.

Posted by francine
does the t68i only charges for less an two hours?

Posted by mariolouis
if you let the t68i battery drain till it turns off, battery life will be shortened. charge it when it is still halfway discharged.

Posted by francine
mariolouis .. is that so? really? thanks for the info.

Posted by Bhodisathva
Thanx a lot guys...i just bought a P800 and now I know how to go about charging the same to get max battery life

@nicolo
welcome to esato! i think you're lost. try using search and you'll find a lot of threads relating to your query.

So, once again. How long should I charge my brand new SE T68i battery, if it's the first time? I read in the manual, that 4 hours is enough... is it??

Posted by 701
@za brat: i guess u should charge it until the phone stops charging(2 or more hours). This is NOT important! What's important is that ur battery will get better on holding charges after u use it 4 a few weeks.Something more:the charger stops when the battery is full as the phone software controls the charging time:) So, use ur phone and tell us soon, if after 10-12 charges ur phone holds more than at the begining:)hope this helps

Good info on battery charging

Just like to add that don't be surprised if if your Li-ion battery lasts longer during talk time than the Li-poly; Li-ion battery's due to its chemical nature (apart being heavier) work better under "normal" usage conditions i.e, talk time, whilst the Li-poly is lasts longer under low-power situations, i.e whilst on standby.

Compaq's white paper on iPAQ battery care also says this. So I guess this is what I'll follow, and top my battery whenever I can.

damn, i always run out of energy cuz i use a phone to wap all the time ...so 1 charge lasts for 3-4 hours...then recharge:)I gotta be careful!

Posted by frashem
iv had my t68i for 2 weeks now and even when it says that it has 290hrs standby time after a full charge...it dusnt even last 24 hrs?! im not using that much...the odd call/sms!

from what ive read here should i charge my t68i before the battery is low?

cheers 4 ur help

Which battery is better

Li-Ion or Li Poly?

Posted by Quintessence
Like i said earlier, it depends on your type of usage.

If you are a heavy usage, go with the Li-ion, if you don't use your phone that often go with a Li-po.

By "using" I mean talking, accessing WAP, etc.

Posted by 701
The ONLY advantage of the li-Polimer battery is that this one is thiner and lighter! Th 'polimer' technology means a new way to manufacture the Li-ion battery! And of course, the disadvantage is that u have less cycles of charges thus lasting less time.
So, if u like it lighter get this one..if not, the regular Li-Ion is the mainstream:)
