"Past GTA titles have had mild-to-serious framerate issues and technical glitches, because the games were trying to do far more than the PlayStation 2 could handle. While GTA IV is pushing the PS3 and 360 to the limit, it also runs amazingly well. I put my birthdate in as 18 (which i am) and it came up sorry not to view, ah well.. sucky Americans.
I preordered this from Game in July 07 and I went in today to make sure I had a copy and they were like "Hmm it doesnt appear so" Major suckage on top of the website...
They said come in on Tuesday and you should be able to get one no problem... (fingers crossed)

The pre-ordering thing is a load of crap at many places. My local Gamestation confessed to me that they have taken pre-orders but they have no idea how many copies they will actual get in on Monday. So they're still going to give them out on a first come first served basis at midnight, regardless of whether you've pre-ordered or not.

Meh, I've got a 24hr Tesco less than 3 mins driving on empty roads. I WOULD pick it up then, but as I'm lacking 360'age my dad says to wait until it comes back from repair.

i play cod4 as well, it was a good double point weekend, but not sure how much of a look in its gonna get after gta's arrival!

got my copy from asda, it was like a mad house there. I strolled in at 11, there was a small que, 5 minutes later at least 100 people came in. They gave up tickets and we went away, then came back at 12.

Fan damn tastic! I got it yesterday morning. Amazing how much Rockstar was able to put in. The map is giant, and Niko is great. As usual the radio stations stay damn hilarious. Great to know that Lazlow has a station in the game.

im already on the second part of the island. story line is shit i hate it so boring no excitement. GTA San andreas was a good story line. Found a look a like pourche the other day.

Hahaha, thats quite the opposite of what everyone else has said. And I was told that the whole city was completely open so you could go anywhere from the beginning. Is that not true?

Yup it is GTA after all
You guys won't mind but one big thing about the map that annoys me is that from what I have seen and read, there is no free space. Rockstar seemed to make this sound like a good thing by calling in it "wasted space."
One of my favourite parts of San Andreas was cruising down the country side, with dessert surronding you, with the sound of K rose through the radio, great fun to get away from the story and just enjoy a drive in the game, however there is none of that in Librety city. Although the city is amazing, as with the detail, sometimes you just wan't to have the freedom to escape and drive down to the quiet country side instead of being stuck in the city. The game seems to be all about the city, city, city. In San Andreas I loved driving round the quiet towns and going through the desserts. I know the games are based in diffrent places but It would have been nice if they added some free space.
What about you guys?

lol I'm the other way round on this, I thought the storyline in San Andreas was very old, tired and full of stereotypical characters. Just your usual, bog standard American Gangsta tripe.
GTA 4 is much more tongue-in-cheek, like GTA 3 and Vice City were which is definitely a good thing in my book

had this a few days now and its ok.... never bin a big fan of gta games but this is defo the best of the bunch for storyline and longevity...
Shame about the below average accents and the fact that every woman in the game sounds like they have been pulled out of a friends episode lol...

I agree... The amount of times it has make me laugh or chuckle is fantastic... I keep on meaning to play COD4 after a few hours on GTA but it just keeps me engrossed and before I know it, its the early hours!
