Well, if it ever does make it to the shelves then I would expect Rockstar and DMA to release a version of GTA for it. I asked my Gaffer about why GTA hasn't been released for GameCube. He reckons that the official reason was that the GC is aimed more squarely at younger children than the other consoles but that the real reason is probably down to Nintendo's high licensing costs. Wouldn't surprise me, I've read quite a few press releases myself suggesting that developers have a hard time with Nintendo

after nearly a year of PS2 my kids (12 and 14 years old) sold it on ebay with all the games and got themselves the gamecube. they said that PS2 games were too easy and they finished them too quickly.
They still have gamecube games they have not got to the end of yet.
As a family we all played mario kart on Nintendo 64 and nothing has changed on the gamecube though I still think I prefer the older version.
but of course none of this is GTA related so my appologies in advance

I had the same problem with Vice City on PC. Talk about making me angry. It would shut off the computer sometimes, just like that. Spoke with Toshiba, and the told me that they didn't know what to tell me. It was overheating, so I raised it up on 2-ply CD cases on all four corners, and it worked better. I also found it to be slow even if I had the smallest application or program or file or anything for that matter open, so I was sure to close ALL not related items. And this is a pretty good computer, with a very nice graphic card. I hope that this helps.
Will the new one be coming out on PC? Even if it is later, I will wait. Otherwise, I will have to buy a Playstation just for this game, which if it is as good as Vice City, I will have no problems doing that. After all it is one of the best games EVER!

According to Rockstar's last press release regarding GTA, 'GTA San Andreas' will be released for the PC although as always, a few months after the PS2 release.

well i am a big fan of gta series too, anyway about you masseur, i'm almost 10% that the problem lies in your graphics card, sony doesn't include good cards in their laptops at least not in the small ones, i'm not very familiar with the model you have stated but considering the fact that you haven't stated the card name it seems like it isn't anything special (they advertise the card even if the include a gf4...)
oh and about gta sa, well i'm almost 100% that the game itself will be in modern time, the font and the recent surveys and licensing by r* confirms that, at least in my view.....

the site is actually quite old but it was right from the start (oh and don't look at the forums because they are really sick

i don't own a ps2 or anyhing like that, i was tempted once because it's really cheap now but i just can't get out of my skin, a mouse and a screwdriver is the right solution for me

Unfortunately his laptop has only an 8mb graphics card but 32mb is the minimum. restoring the PC made some difference but not alot

Who cares,this thread is about GTA,not the console its played on :-) Yes the news heli is very twitchy mate,i use my own which is on the roof of the condo ;-) I have a tank,motorbike and cars in the garages below too :-D

Folks, you do realise that san andreas is NOT exclusive to the ps2???? I'm surprised at how many of you think it is! The pc ver is due out a few months after the ps2 version whenever that may be! I,m looking forward to it. Anyone know what the pc release is for driver 3??

@boyi, i think the helicopter has to be still before you can bail out, i.e in the air but not moving forwards or backwards. How do you get the apache helicopter without getting 100 hidden Packages?

You also get the apache when you have completed the main story missions, i.e. when you've killed Lance Vance and the Mafia guy at the mansion on starfish island. See www.gamefaqs.com for details on how and when this happens.
