Mine works fine and even loads game up slightly faster then my old Ps2 did.
Is your GTA: SA dvd scrached or got finger prints on ?
You could try cleening dvd ?

My slim PS2 works fine with SA, and all games load quicker.
Im still going to do Zero's missions before i continue however, i just hate having mission icons on my radar. Damn big Z.
I think you can turn it off in options, but what the hell.

YAY ! i just did all of Zero's missions.
I decided to bite the bullet and keep trying. The first mission i did easy, but, 5 seconds after winning the mission the final transmitter got destroyed. I was like WTF !
So i tried again, and again, and again, and after my 5-6th attempt did it quite easily.
Mission 2 & 3 are a little tricky too, but easy after 1 or 2 attempts.

Oh boy. I bought the GTA:SA official guide book the other day. Im not too bothered, it didnt cost me a penny ( thanks to xmas money from relatives ).
However, im a little annoyed at some of the inaccuracies. For example, i was looking for the 50 horseshoes today in Las Venturas. In the guidebook, one of them is said to be in the back garden of a house. They show you a screenshot, and pinpoint it on the included map.
When you go to the exact place in in the game ( by matching the book's map to the game map, and the radar on screen to the one in the screenshot ), the house doesnt exist. In its place is a large building. There is no back garden, and to make matters worse, the pinpoint on the map in the book telling you where it is, is in the wrong place. Usually a good 1-2 inch away on the page to where the horseshoe actually lies !
Its the same with the Photo opportunities in San Fiero. You go to where one is said to be in the book. When you get there, a wall or building will be different and the photo icon you have to take a picture of is usually a good 50m away from the screenshots in the book. To make matters worse, in the book they're all pretty much at CJ's level. In the actual game, many are about 100m in the air !

right now. Ive had official guides like this before, where the guide does not even come close to the real game. I can remember in the official Tomb Raider 3 guide, which claimed to show you the location of all secrets at the front of the book missed quite a few out, the author saying ' we couldnt find them '. Not exactly official then is it !
So, the only comforting thought is that i got the guide for SA for free.
But it'll be the last official guide i ever buy, whether its my own money or not !

You have to complete the driving school by passing the tests in any certificate (gold, silver or bronze). Then, after you complete the Yay Ka-Boom Boom mission ( just complete all missions on your radar ) the car showrooms becomes available to buy.

Theres also a silver vibrator, which Millie loves. You can find it in the little village north of San Fiero called Bayside Marina. Opposite the sea is a row of houses, with a patch of spare ground next door to the last house. On the spare ground is a skip full of trash, and behind it is the vibrator.
I take one on every date with Millie. Also, if you cant find the silver dildo, go inside Millies house and you'll find one in there. Quite ironic burgling her house, stealing her own dildo and then giving it back to her as a gift.
For the minigun, theres one on the red railway bridge that goes from SF to the LV section. Theres also one in the no fly zone military base, one on a rooftop of a skyscraper in downtown LS, and one at a partially built building in the south east corner of LV.

I've just visited the driving school, spoke to the girlfriend there, but she said I wasn't fat enough, and now she isn't there, does that mean that I've missed that chance to go out with her. The same goes for Helena, my stats says I've made 10% progress with her, but theres no heart logo for me to go to.

AFAIK they stay available until you get your first date with them. They only disappear permenantly if they dump you.
Up to now i have 3, the one inside the driving school is not there anymore. I think she must appear at certain times of the day.
Theres 6 to date at once.

Seen that one before.
The one where the plane hit CJ on the quad bike has happened to me three or four times now, its nothing special.
All you have to do is drive somewhere really high up, and planes often fly overheard. Every now and then the PS2 f*cks up and sets the planes altitude too low and it ends up kamikazi'ing into you.
Its even happened to me on the bridge road outside Mad Dogs mansion.
Btw, i completed all of the missions in SA today. The final mission was a little tricky but i did it on my first attempt. Now for the countless numbers of minigames ( vigilante, fire truck, courier etc ) to finish.

Does anyone know where to find a Euros ? its the only car i need to export at the docks, and i cannot find it anywhere !
Btw, has anyone done either of the two triathlon races ? ( swim, cycle, run ). They're a lot of fun, especially the second harder one which lasts for about 2 minutes of swimming, 10 minutes of cycling and 3 minutes running.

Good news is, ive now found every hidden tag / photo opp / horseshoe / oysters.
Currently at 79% completion.
Btw, can anyone confirm WHY everytime i visit the gym, it says ive already worked out too much ? everytime i try to work out, it wont let me. So, since i spent today swimming around the whole game looking for oysters, CJ is now a skinny wimp ( swimming burns muscle tone ).

Well i put on a bit of fat weight just because his skinny appearance was annoying me, and he still cant exercise. I think my saved game is corrupted..
