Thought this might be a good idea as i hav'nt seen a similar thread on this game in the 2 years ive been browsing Esato.
So if you wanna chat about any of the games in the series,this is the thread to do it in,and heres a little info on the forthcoming game.
GTA:San Andreas,exclusive to ps2 of course,is due out in the US on Tuesday October 19,and here in the UK its Friday October 22
As they have been working on this one for basically 2 years by the time it will be out,what will you expect from it? An actual ride in a passenger airplane would be different! Hope its in modern times too which is rumoured to be but im sure info will start trickling out thru the year
Seems like Tommy Vercetti wont be in it,so far there is news of 3 characters,an Italian woman,an African/American male age 22 and a geezer from Manchester in the UK.

Actually,how many years before we see games like this on our phones?

The big thing GTA is lacking is multiplayer. If anyone remembers GTA2 for PC, it had a great multiplayer mode that was really enjoyable. Now add to that 3D graphics and all the great improvements on GTA3 and you've got one hell of a game.

I already copied Rise fm,Emotion fm,Wildstyle fm and lots of other cuttings from gta3 and gtavc radio/intro music to my pc,now in mp3 format,can convert to wav too :-) what are u after exactly? If i get time i cud copy a few for ya ;-)

I'm hopeing for GTA4 to have a multiplayer feature among other improvements.
How about:
- More AI. Gans and Mobsters running missions without you that you can watch/interact with. Also police raids that happen at times.
- Reputation meters like from GTA2 that show how much favor you have with each group.
- More weapons and cars. (and boats and planes ;] )

If you mean the 'K-Jah radio' station, then the artist for all of the tracks is called 'Scientist' and the album is 'Scientist rids the world from the curse of the evil vampires'. Great album!

Hi, I started a Vice city thread, which has been locked, (i didn't realise there was this one). I'd just like to say a few things, in the san an gta, there will be police bikes which should be cool, and maybe more than one city, which would be reached by passanger jet.
Also the songs for san an, will include 50 Cent, Eminem etc. So I expect a 'Game Radio' follow up, also 70's music has been bought by R* recently so I expect a 70's radio show, as the game, (hopefully) will be set in present day, so much better.
Other info is that Maria from GTA3 will return which should be interesting, and apparantly it might show what happened at the end of GTA3 when the screen went black.
A hint if you ever want any GTA music as alot of you seem to, If you look in the game manuals, it says at the back the artists and songs, then if you have Kazaa, you can get them from that, (most likely).
Can't wait for san an, and I hope this was of interest to you!

I just copy the music from my ps2 via my mixer to the pc,kazaa is a bit 'on top' atm so i dont use it for now. Where is ur gta sa info from?

I got MSX Fm on mp3 now,not too sure of the quality tho cus i was using the PC while rippin the music,they say its best to leave your PC alone while doing this.
Anyway its 11.5 MB @ 64kbps,i could upload it on my site,im allowed 20MB file downloads
but my host has still got problems 
Im probly gonna have a mp3 ringtone section on my site soon,these will include various clips from the gta series,mobile tones,intro music and sound effects etc. As my next phone is looking like the k700 this should be cool as we never really had any decent midi tones,i still use .imy tones in my t610,vice city mobile tone and the gta3 pager tone

need some advice please. my son used to play vice city on the PS2 but the kids sold the P2 and the games and now use a gamecube (don't ask me why!)
anyway this week he bought the PC version of vice city but it runs like a dog on his Vaio FX701 which 512mb ram AMD 1400+ processor, plenty of disk space etc etc.
any suggestions because I don't play games (much) and haven't got a clue where to start to look for the problem. thx
edit: btw we have tried 640x480 and 800x600 resolution but in both cases it is slow and lots of characters (letters) flash on and off across the screen at random intervals

maybe, but it plays the latest flight sim very well as well as various SIMS modules they have installed and catz 5 and dogz5 and a few other graphics intensive games including an earlier pc version of GTA
I'm going to do a restore this weekend using the Sony discs that came with it to reset the pc to its original state.

edit: oh, btw I did find a patch on their official web site for graphics but it made no difference at all

A few of the guys at the game review site that I work for had the same problem running Vice City on the PC. It turned out that if your graphics card does not support 'DirectX Texture Compression', then the PC uses around an extra half-gigabyte of hard drive space as a kind of virtual memory which slows the game down immensly.
If you haven't already, you could try downloading the latest release of DirectX 9 but the problem almost certainly lies with your graphics card. GTA 3 and Vice City are both notorious for requiring much higher PC specifications than the minimum specs given on the box to run at a decent speed

ok, thanks again. I'm pretty sure he had the latest directx installed as I regularly do windows updates for him, but he did only have 1gb free total disk space so maybe after I do the restore of his pc back to basics it might help that he has more free space. I'll post back here at the w/e if any of this made a difference but maybe he will just have to live with it.
I take it there is no gamecube version of vice city?
