Is Bluetooth the same as WIFI?

bluetooth is shorter range is this the only difference? could i compare the 2 as different ways of solving a problem?

different protocols. they are both wireless, and on 2.4GHz (for certain Wi-Fi protocols).

You can use BT for networking, sort of similar to Wi-Fi... other than that, they do different things. BT is meant to be a wireless replacement for peripheral cables.
