Hi all. I already did a search on the questions for setting up my brand-spanking-new Z600 with TMobile. So now I got my Text-messaging, and WAP services fully functional (Awsome message board btw... kudos). But I am still having problems with the following.
1) I don't have any access to Tzones - This is an unlocked/non branded Z600. From the "Internet Services>More>Enter Address"" menu I can't log unto wap.myvoicestream.com (some bckgnd on this = since this is a non branded phone, I was told that I might have to access the Tzones page manually. I might have been told incorrectly, don't know). I was able to log unto other wap sites (ie wap.yahoo.com) so I know the WAP configuration is good.
2) Since I don't have access to Tzones, how can I chat via AIM. I previously had a T68i on AT&T and it worked like a charm (buddy lists and all). I was told that this issue had to do with no #1 above. If so, can't I just get a Java app that can connect to my AIM account so I can chat? Or since this phone is not branded, can't I install the MobileAIM stuff myself? I was told of a way that I can use the AIM service with coded text-messages (4646=sign-on; 4654=send to; etc), but that just seems so yesterdays technology for such a new phone.
3) I was offered this phone for $225US, and like I stated it's unbranded and unlocked from a NYC dealer. Was this a reasonlable price? They have offered to exchange it for a free T68i for the troubles I am having.
Can anyone shed some light on these gremlins. I would like to keep this puppy, it's an awsome phone!

Got some more info on #1 above:
After calling T-Mobile for the uhmptieth time and finally getting to tier 99-squared support, I was told that the Z600 is a WAP2 phone while wap.myvoicestream.com site is being hosted on a WAP1 server. Does this make sense?
The very knowledgable guy (more than me at least) went further by stating that since WAP2 is not backward compatible with WAP1 that I will have to switch my Z600 with a WAP1 phone like the T68i (which is what I'm upgrading from in the first place).
So now my questions is (drum roll...) Can't I just get a Java application that can do the WAP1 to WAP2 conversion thingy so I can finally get the TZones (I'm on a mission as if you haven't noticed)
A WAPy thing-a-ma-jig converter would help me with my #2 above.
or would it?
Don't you all reply at once now.

Damned my whole reply just vansihed into thin air
well... let's try again.
1st of all, there have been reports of full incompatibility between Z600 and Tzones from the day it was released
Seems T Mo has not been able to solve that problems just yet eh?
2nd...... sadly..... the java on the Z600 is, as they say, sat in a 'sandbox' environment, in laymens terms it is not actually very interactive with other parts of the phone. Although some java apps can access wap (IM programs or multi player games) it is unfortunately not possible to write a program to alter your wap settings or portal.
You could always use a work around by installing a java messeneger app (I use cmessenger for msn/y!/aim/icq) for the time being.... but action on this one apparently needs to come from T Mobile

I once had the same problem accessing t-zones and instead used
wap.myvoicestream.com/#main
This is the actual setting for the main t-zones page. This worked for me.

I tried this on my Z600, all I got was a white page with nothing else. It's the same result that I get when trying to connect to wap.myvoicestream.com Seems like it's finding the url but not displaying it properly.

That's like what I've been looking for
Where can I get this miracle of an Java application. And can I install it via a BlueTooth transer?

This is only for AT&T WS customers (and maybe Cingular in the future, since they merged?). Sorry.

I'm having the exact same problem with the z200 (unlocked) and T Mobile's T-Zones. The first rep I spoke with was helpful, and said the same thing to me--that my inability to log into the wap.myvoicestream.com page might be an issue with WAP 2 compatibility and T-Mobile's system.
But then I checked, and the Z200 runs Wap 1.2, not Wap 2. Yet I continue to be unable to log into the page. So I think that this has something to do with incompatibility on T Mobile's side.
I've called three additional times to try to work this out with one of their "second tier" tech guys, but I've had bad luck and gotten lazy ones who don't want to troubleshoot but instead prefer giving me the line "We don't support your model phone at this time so we cannot help you..."
Grrrrrrrrr.

Mmmm. Got the same problem on my unlocked, but TMobile activated P900. Whenever I try to access e-mail or the web I get an access problem. I was told by TMobile that, somewhere, there should be a place to enter in the apn (access point) address, but for the life of me I haven't found it. The apn supposedly should be wap.voicestream.com. It worries me that it is still a voicestream wap server as voicestream died in the early days of wap. Any advice would be huge - it worked flawlessly with AT&T....

So is there anyone who can access t zone with Z600?
Posted by z200user
Today, amazingly, my z200 was able to connect with T-Zones website, wap.myvoicestream.com without getting an error message. I didn't do anything differently than what I have been trying for the last two months.
So I think that maybe T Mobile's modified its server to accept my model, and maybe the z600 too.
Maybe some z600 user can give it a try and report back.

What's weird with mine is, it worked yesterday and loaded the homepage, but it won't today. I can load other WAP sites, but not the T-zones homepage... I may try the #main part and see if that does it...

I was having the same problem with my k700i on tzone with Tmobile, and this corrected the problem for me.
1st go to your data accounts and create a data connection profile and edit it and you should see the
APN setting.
use " wap.voicestream.com "
2nd Go to your phone and edit connectivity and look for internet settings
and edit your internet profile
Keep the current setting you that let you get to yahoo so far.
connecting using : " the data account profile you created earlier "
Use Proxy : yes
ip address : 216.155.165.50
after that I was able to connect and see my setting
Good Luck

I use the same setting as chank. I only subscribe to the data service of Tmob and it works like a charm.
use wap account yes. 216.155.165.050
T-zones gprs, port 9201, use proxy yes.
