Well I was the S55 Guru so a few comments wont put me of the S65, Why is it gonna take that long geez siemens take da piss with there phones take the SX1 for example ;-)

Posted by Miss UK
Does anyone know how much the S65 will be on the market for eg. Sim-free? A rough estimate im hoping its £299 :-) Oooh bring me that phone :-D

Posted by JohnM
Nothing wrong with siemens phones, l loved my S55, still have an SL45i and SL55. @missuk - I'd expect the S65 to be around the £300 mark.

Posted by Miss UK
John are u gonna get 1 aswell :-D £300 is a fair price btw the S55 was £269.99 when I bought it Sim free :-)

I've also seen that it's gonna be out late Summer '04.
It's a great looking phone with all the features... I've always rated Siemens phones very highly (the ones I've had anyway), so I think I might be looking to swap when it's on sale

Its expected in September.

Posted by JohnM
@missuk: not sure, got my p900 in december so might be holding out for something like the se s700 or p900 replacement, depends how i feel at the time when my contracts up.

Posted by Miss UK
September seems yonks away I hope my T68i can hold out till then :-D @ John: you could always upgrade to 1 but its a case which phone cos there'll be far more available by then!!! :-D

Posted by JohnM
@missuk: sure your t68i will hold up till then, great phone! Thats the trouble i'm having, come december its rumoured the major networks will be operating their own 3g by then, don't know what to do! Lol

Posted by mmsman
@missuk: sry i tought you have a v600 :??: guess i haven't been paying attention lately.....
anyway siemens are my second favorite phones, either siemens or se but i was kinda suprised by the way eldar described the phone....
and if i remember it's an odm phone which isn't goo i'm not saying that anything is wrong with st60 or z200 but it does feel strange that their flagship phone is an odm, it suprised me to say the least.....

anyway it looks awesome and i'm considering it too.... (i broke my p8 keyboard and i'm thinking of getting a p900..... but the s65 is a solution, it just has to come in june...)

here's a pic of the s65 size comparing it to k700...

@ Marga. Pretty positive this time altho my mother has stated she wants her to move into her own place before its born, my mum doesn't like her bf hes starting to control her :-l oh the joys of life ;-) @ Rob. Ive not had a go yet I fell asleep since I only got 2hrs da other nite ;-) im gunna write ur email down in a sec :-)

Posted by Miss UK
Uups ignore that last post ;-) @ John. Well I do hope the T68i lives till September last wk it kept saying enter sim when sim was in it lol (cleaned it with contact cleaner) seems ok for now ;-) .. Maybe its best to wait till everyone gets a 3G phone btw had a cameraphone last yr and no1 else had1 whats the use in that ;-) @ MSN. So many probs with my V600 its up for auction as soon as its fixed im fed-up with it btw its a nice handset shame it lags in probs! :-) the S65 is my next phone for real lol

Posted by JohnM
True, i'll probably hold out to see what will replace the p900 first!

Posted by Miss UK
Intresting to see if a P1000 occurz ;-)

Posted by JohnM
That or the s700, unless the p1000 if they call it that, is smaller than the 900, though its not too bad really considering what it can do.

Posted by Miss UK
I need to checkout the K700's piccy not seen it yet! Nor know what the feat's are :-)

Posted by JohnM
Looks good, nice spec too, lacks megapix camera and no memorystick support, which is a shame. S700, looks better choice, if you don't mind the motorola v80 revolving keypad idea.

Posted by Miss UK
Dont think I will get another moto lol

I have a lot of respect for Siemens as a phone manufacturer, they may not be at the bleeding edge when it comes to technology but all their phones are very solid, reliable and price wise are a bargin compared to similarly specced Nokia's.
I've still got my ancient C25 which took 2.5 years of solid abuse (dropping down stairs, the toilet etc.) before I swapped it out for a T68m many years ago now. Still use it as a backup phone now and again.... ahh the good old days when SMS was considered new.......

However, who wants a 65k color screen when u have a dull menu as in the s65. Anyone who saw it @cebit will vouch for that.

Posted by ThreeX
@gforce23
Perhaps for watching pictures and desktop wallpapers in vivid color?
I mean, how cool is Windows start menu?

Posted by gforce23
What I meant was that the icons are duller compared to the better looking icons in any new se phone like k700, z1010 etc.

Isn't the menu structure almost identical to the T610/K700 menu?

Posted by gforce23
Structure is similar. However, look and feel is quite diff.

Posted by mmsman
well i hope that if someone buys a phone like that, that he's not going to be in the menus all day, who cares what the menus look like, as long as they are functional....

Posted by Miss UK
The menü icons are betta improved over the S55 tho. Right?!

Posted by JohnM
Anything's got to be an improvement on the S55 menu, thats the only thing I didn't like about mine, sadly the same menu is retained on my sl55, oh well!

Posted by Miss UK
Hope the S65 is like the SX1 menu icons, it should be btw its a 65k display not a meesely 256 enn! :-)

Posted by JohnM
Or a tiny 101x80 pixel display!

Posted by Miss UK
Even better! :-)

Posted by mmsman
lo so am i the only one who doesn't care about the menus

Posted by Miss UK
MSN... They don't bother me mucho bit, but im hoping there way better than those of the S55
