The Orange networks so called (unlimited GPRS) bundle only allows you upto 100mb per month for 45 quid amonth, do you think that this is a rip off as its supposed to be (in their own words) unlimited?

Wap or Internet?

What a Con by Orange!.I have great respect for Orange as a network but misleading information such as this will only lose them business & customers.

Posted by joebmc
Should get onto the fare tradings act or someing about that (its false advertising)

I get unlimited gprs for a fiver a month on orange uk. So what is this about 45quid

Posted by Dj Boyi
He is obviously talking about Orange gprs internet. I have gprs wap @ £4 a month, dunno why u pay £5 :-l

Posted by BOOYAR
Cos i thought it was 4quid before tax. Either way its amazing value

AFAIK when you sign up for the "unlimited GPRS" package - there is an item in the T&Cs that states the Fair Use Limit as 100mb.

Posted by axxxr
Then they shouldnt be calling it UNLIMITED should they!.Last time i checked unlimited it meant without limits!!..or maybe in orange terms check the small print!

Posted by Bianca
if it is fair-use then there can't be a limit or am i wrong???

Posted by denizz
Sorry, but I only try write few words. I first time on your forum.

Posted by Bianca
welcome denizz but this is not the right topic i guess

Posted by wapchimp
Why are you moaning? the first 3months have £20 off aswell? U should have read the terms.

Posted by mwright
It may be misleading - if you don't read all the supplied information.

For example, I am on the "unlimited WAP" package - this is subject to a "fair usage" limit of 10MB per month. I checked this and accepted it as part of the deal. If I didn't like I had the choice to not take the package.

does it matter what phone orangeman is on i dont think it does or are people that inadequate in themselves that they have to have a go at a phone because of its make do you not get out enough do you not realise that the world is slowly f**king its self up but no its a nokia
glad i got that out of my system i feel much better

Never mind nokia owners they have their uses, But why did'nt Orange just call the darn bundle (GPRS 100), as it certainly aint unlimited, i'm beginning to hate Orange, roll on the SE Z1010 so i can join the 3G network!!!

Posted by JiggyJaggy
Is the Orange access pack still available @ £4/months cos you can use Opera with gprs wap for free. Worth getting if they still have it.

Posted by Dj Boyi
@Jiggy,they dont do the access pack now, unless like me,u were already on it,then no. Btw,i hate nok phones but i would'nt slag em off cus someone posted from one! @orangeman,hows ur brick? ;-)

Posted by BlackBauer24
Oh sorry i forgot to mention in my original post that the 45 notes you pay for this not so unlimited bundle is still subject to vat bringing the total price to 52.87 per month, NOTE: that if you continue to download more than 100mb per month Orange reserve the right to move you to the GPRS 200mb bundle which will cost you a whopping 105.75 including vat!

There is a "Fair use" limit on nearly all forms of data transfer.
Broadband companies are now starting to put limits on their internet. BT, for instance, puts a limit of 1gb per Month!!!! on their broadband service. What's the point of fast internet if you can only download 1gb a month. NTL used to call their broadband Unlimited...they removed that word when they enforced a 1gb per day (Better than bt) limit on the service. Same with GPRS. O2 give you free gprs, but i know they'll bar you if you misuse the free service.

Very true.

Fair Use? So what legally constitutes fair use? Legally Fair Use is the use of a service for the purpose intended, and without illegal or criminally intended purpose. So if you pay for a sevice and it's marketed as UNLIMITED, and they also put a Fair Use policy on it with a specified limit they are misrepresenting the product in breach of the law. It is in no way, or ever could be unlimited, as the tariff has a preset limit.

Even though the product has small print stating the limit, you would have a good case to have the contract revoked as it is misrepresented as a product.

BUT that said never sign anything without reading the small print.

I say sue Orange!!!

This deal is actully a bargain. Its only £25 a month exc vat for the first 12 months! Then 45 a month after. 100mb for a normal customer would =£300. Even on my staf rate its = to £100.

Posted by 701
Yes, u can use it to terminate a contract but the lawyer costs u twice the amount u'd pay to terinate that contract.Just don't buy it if u think it is misleading. And i know, it is.
