Hello ppl. What about to make European forum to discuss our problems in common EU house and not in every single national room. We should showto all people in the world that all Europe is like one state. Pls, start it. Thank u very much.

I think, as all countires have their own carriers..... it will not be of much use for cell phone and/or plans or service provider comparison.
Posted by BobaFett
U r very interested in politic as i noticed
Posted by Vlammetje
i assume that was meant for boto?
in any case... this is fine for socializing me thinks
but errr...... Europa is not a nation, nor will it be in the foreseeable future
Posted by BobaFett
@vlammetje yes, ment botod eu is sg new in d history, nations meet here eachother, former enemies in wars facing d future as friends, cultures and traditions mixing etc i believe in it, but it will b a long way 4 all of us ;-)
Posted by gareb
Think it can be useful 'cause most of the cellphones are the same all over the union.
Posted by Vlammetje
phones yes.... providers/plans no
phons are similar in a large part of the world nowadays
Posted by boto43
Europe is not a nation. But one nice sunny day will be one state. The same like usa at present. We dont have to talk just about phones. We may speak about our imaginations of EU. What will want and not in our common house.
Posted by Vlammetje
We will not see the complete union in hearts and minds of all europeans in our lifetime. At least i'm not counting on it.
Unless sdisaster strikes... it tends to unite
anyway...... personally I don't have much of an opinion on Europa as a whole... I think our charm lies in the fact that we have so many different countries with theri own languages and folklore
Posted by boto43
Hi ppl. Should Turkey and Albania join to EU? What do u think?(both are muslim's religious countries)
Posted by BobaFett
Of course, got no problem with religion
Posted by Vlammetje
I don't see why a country which has large numbers of catholics is any different from a country that has a large number of muslims.
So boto, why do you ask?
Posted by boto43
Its just a question.Ur view on the question is very correct.I would like 2 know the e opinion of christians to muslims after Spanish bombing..I hope our ppl [eu] so clever not to condemnm all muslims.Thank u for ur opinion.
Posted by BobaFett
Well, the problem begins at wrong interpretation of thekoran by some ppl. Dont think that allah and mohamed would be happy at bombing all around the world, as god and jesus as well in some christian handlings. We are not better or more bad than ebody in the world.

Europe is a bit too diverse to be seen as one state, but the European Union is still something good!!
Free trade / movement over the borders is something very nice.
The fact that poor countries are freeloading on the rich is something you'd have to swallow I guess...
But something that could be discussed and that's relevant to the people across the EU (well, not every country in Europe is a member of the EU) is the problems / expenses with roaming.
Posted by BobaFett
@fluffybunny how do u mean poor countries?
Posted by Vlammetje
Not necessarily poor countries really. A country like Ireland has definitely been able to benefit economically from EU membership
In any case.... if other countries ahve all the wealth they need... might as well have the neighbours benefit as well imho........ in the long run it will help develop a stronger and equal relationship
Posted by BobaFett
@vlammetje yes, it will a hard and long way for my country, hungary too.

One problem I can see is that the open borders to Turkey can lead to a higher level of movement of potential threats - aka terrorists.

Countries that gain from the EU-membership, such as former eastern-block countries.
There was no "value" added in the statement, so don't take it personally if you are from such a country.
Countries that bitch about the new EU-members are Spain and France, as they get less agriculturural support etc.

Ireland is actually before Sweden now in the "wellfare"-league.
So much for the "social-democrats" aye?!

It seems 2 me this thread isn't dead. Thanks to u, guys.
Posted by BobaFett
Who should have the leader position in eu? I hope germany, france and hopefully the uk, if they want to join us.

Now there's one of the main problems. No country should be leader!
All decisions should be democratic.
I'm not confortable with, for instance, Schröder making decisions that affect my country (Portugal).
What does he know about Portugal? Our way of life? Our problems?
That why an European comission exists, with representatives of all countries who make other's to know their country's problems.
Posted by boto43
Leader position should take EU congress not any single country. Thats what I think and feel. What about 2 speak roaming in Europeans countries. We should call from all EU country without extra (high) charge !
Posted by BobaFett
U are right in case of the european parlament, but there will be leading countries aswell, depending on industry and economy.
Posted by Jim
Krubach is right, the last months ( maybe years ) France and Germany and some times UK have those meetings together without the rest of the EU. They takes decisions for all the rest of the "small" countries.
Posted by BobaFett
Rather they than the usa or for me as an eastern europian the russians.
Posted by Krubach
I'm sorry bobba, but i think i didn't get the spirit of the EU yet, or what's it all about for that matter...
If the EU is really united on common goals there's no way the US or Russia make decisions for us. Now, if the UK supports the US and France and Germany criticise it (take this as UK leadership or France/Germany leadership), the the EU is not REALLY united, and it will just fall apart.
Posted by Vlammetje
the EU is in no way united at all. Every country stands for their OWN interests and not for any sort of common interest.
I too strongly oppose the idea of Germany, France and the UK running the show. The UK because they're not part of the monetary union and have therefore different financial interests. Also UK foreign politics do not get large support on the European mainland. I'd hate UK politics even more than i already hate our own national politics.
France unfortunately has proven over and over again that it values it's own interests much much higher than anybody elses... so they should not run this show.
And history proves that France and Germany cannot last a century without waging war on one another so no thanks.... I'll have no part in it.
I am a rather big fan of local politics simply because the situation in my country is not the same as the situation say in Poland or in Portugal or Italy.

Hmmmm, interesting forum! I have to admit I'm really against the EU being more than simply close trading partners.
Each country in the EU has it's own national identity, customs, dialects and eccentricities that would be lost if we became some big European superstate. If it did happen, I could see something similar to what happened in Yugoslavia over a decade ago with everyone deciding they wanted independance for their own state, and a 'civil war' breaking out, especially if they continue to try to 'harmonise' everything to one standard. There's been a lot of press over the years in the UK about the 'meddling' EU doing ludicrous things like trying to ban bananas that are a bit too curved, regulation lengths for cucumbers, and so on! It's both funny and scary at the same time!
I like the fact there's so many differences between nations, variety being the spice of life, and so on.
On the other hand, if every country in Europe clubbed together, we could become a global hyperpower like the US and give them a run for their money in international and cultural affairs.... maybe even beat them at a few things!
Posted by BobaFett
U cannot compare it with yugoslavia. Its a whole different story.
Posted by roobi
Well, Eu need a REALLY GOOD GOVERNMENT, that's the key, the Jugoslavia's cilvil war has begun with a shit government!
Posted by Sammy_boy
@bobafett - bad example I chose I guess, but I hope I got the point across! If we went down the 'united states of europe' path I could see problems in the future when countrie's national identities get eroded by bureaucrats (have I spelt that right? sorry if I haven't!!).
Posted by boto43
It would be interesting to know what non Europeans think about EU. Pls can you express your views, opinions?
Posted by boto43
Hey Europeans,is it right 2 us to take part in 'events' in Iraq?
Posted by BobaFett
Europe got oil without any military presence from iraq, before mr bush started his wargame there.
Posted by boto43
Thanks Boba 4 ur opinion. I think u r right.
Posted by BobaFett
Hopefully the future and some well thinking minds will stop this madness. The us government must stop to play the bobby of the world!
Posted by Sammy_boy
Yes, I can't help thinking that if this war/crisis etc. was handled by someone a bit less gung-ho and used their brains a bit more (Sorry US and to an extent, our UK government, but it's probably true!) and things were more sensitively handled, I'm sure that we wouldn't be having all the problems in Iraq that we are at the moment. Whilst no one would deny that Saddam was evil and had to go, this was not really the way to do it.
Posted by BobaFett
I was never in iraq and the us propaganda is excellent created. The truth is there is no thruth. Veni, vidi, vici. The last one is relative. As the thruth itself.
Posted by boto43
@Sammy.. Sorry , I don't know now what is a bigger evil 4 Iraqis Saddam or us military 'help'.
Posted by BobaFett
One thing is sure. The usa has in iraq nothing to do.
Posted by Elrond
U.S is putting their ass everywhere, just to feel they are strong and to gain some money. They are terrorist aswell I think, just a another way.
Posted by boto43
@boba...Nothing new to us.I mean everyone in Europe has known it .
Posted by BobaFett
when soldiers keep the peace with guns in a foreign country, that smells a bit. the zoo of god is huge...
Posted by boto43
It smells not only a little bit.
Posted by BobaFett
unfortunately th un is weak, cannot manage even the smallest conflicts. its time to move them from new york to europe.
Posted by boto43
Why not,I agree with.I sugest like a seat for un Berlin.PPl from Germany and their government will be always opposed us expanding politics. They can't forget disintegration and integration of Deutchland last century.
