Belcompany will be the first to sell the K700i in belgium, i can't tell the date and don't know the price.
most belgians here went away, not because its a bad forum (not at all) but there is vergelijking the biggest growing flemish forum.
jim is still here, i myself post from time to time.
but all the other ones are somewhere else or bussy.
like jumper he's bussy at work and for usep.be like me
(feel free to cheakout).
for the french speaking ones that want to be up to date on everybrand i advise them belgiqe mobile (or something like that)
and for the flemish ones vergelijking.
but easto is DA place for the best brand

Quick update is not possible, but you can still do it at abelsco. The only problem is that they moved their workshop to Anderlecht, and that it apparently takes 2 days to send the phone from abelsco to their workshop. 2 days for something like 3-4 km distance! And you are apparently not allowed to bring your phone directly to Anderlecht.

I have a K700i for now about two months now and there is something which is disappointing: the 04 small peaces of plastic behind the rear cover which suppose to give a firm hold to this cover..
These small plastic peaces are easely gone and the consequence: is a back cover shaking....
For this class of mobile phone, it is a shame...!!

Cost nothing..
Abelsco, Blvd Anspach, is sending your mobile to another place and it takes 24 hrs to get your mobile back...

Has anyone in Belgium tried to use BASE's i-mode service to get on WAP via GPRS with an SE phone? I don't want to pay WAP dial-up fees, but don't want to use an i-mode phone. Anyone know if this is possible? The people at BASE are not very helpful in this regard.

Thanks, Bart! I'm American actually, but I can read french; I can _not_, I'm sorry to say, read Flemish. So any french sites you would have would be great! Thanks so much for your help; now I'll have to take out an imode sub and try it...
I'm using a T630, btw, in case I didn't mention that. And I've lived in Brussels for almost 5 years.

Thanks to all who helped with info on i-mode and GPRS w/T630. I've got it working now both for WAP and as GPRS modem for laptop via bluetooth. But, a modem, it will not let me on my corporate VPN
. Still, better than nothing, and better than paying 0.12/min for dial-up access... Thanks!

isn't it sweat that you can go on html sites with Imode and to be honest. there is NO LIMIT. you can go past the 20MB. i know the person who is the biggest user on Imode. base told him that but they find it ok, they don't mind it. he spends about 80MB a month only on imode sites! lots of games, ringtones and pics.

Mobistar is so expensive: 15€ for 10Mo per month, and limitation is 10Mo!:(

Nope, only surfing with the phone browser will work, no 3rd party programmes...

Everything has to go through port 1080 I believe... you can use i-mode GPRS to get online with a laptop for example, although there are limitations...

a friend of mine wants to get a k500i , he can get 1 for € 200 but i think its proximus branded , as he said the name proximus is on the housing of the phone , can someone confirm this , on howfar the branding is ?thanks in advance

Racing boy's answer is your answer; it's the vodafone live firmware. But the f500i (or whichever one is unbranded) is also available--at Abelsco for example.

F500 = proximus = vodafone live menu's
K500 = SE = Normal se menu's.
So the f500 is firmware branded (is a bit cheaper) and the k500 isn't firmware branded (is a bit more expensive)
