Héhé, Belgium is going for a restart

a big chapter has closed. as i think back to the time, that there was only a T68m, the time that esato was peaceful, ah yes those were the days. but as we grew we met new people, and alot of them became good friends. i think we'll all have small band as belgian member group of esato. i hope that the future will strengthen the band, that we won't lose anybody, and that there will be lots of nice phones to dicuss.

to all of us i wish a good new refresing start!

I only did this one because it was requested by the thread originator but I had doubts then that I should do it and still have doubts now.

My reasons are that these kinds of threads should not really be owned by the one person that happened to create it, should be owned by the community that use it.

so next time I'll probably get people to PM me if they have an objection to a new thread being created before acting on such a request.

true, but i'm sure most belgian members would agree with arroy

oh dear, if i hear news about a car accident in limburg i'll know who caused it

Hail belgian! Enjoy ur new homebase ;-)

i'm back from cebit...

going to make a small summary...

Nokia: alot of crap! slow 7610, ugly plastic 7200, terrible to use 7600, nice bit BIG 9500...

Siemens: CX65 very nice phone for it's price, CF62 nice design but everytime i look at it i see a Z200, S65 AMAZING!!! good cam, great poly's, MMC card, speed BUT the screen is nice but a bit pixelated, and for the 1st firmware NO mp3!!...
And the pen phone... INCREDIBLE!!! works perfect even with my handwriting...

Samsung... crappy phones with amazing screens and design...

and then THE sony-ericssons...
K-700 is very nice but i'm missing something, i cannot describe it but it was kinda plastic...
and the normal phones like P900 T630 etc etc are nice to...

BUT

the S-700!! AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING screen!!!!!!!!!!
i was like MAJOR WTF!!!!! i've never seen somthing great as that on a mobile!! not even with Samsung!!!! they took a picture of us and printed it... nice quality!! can easily be used for vacation pictures!!
and it's smaller that i thought!!

hello moto was nothing special... only excisting phones + V80 (to big)

the SENDO X is just a piece of plastic running on symbian... !!!TERRIBLE!!! build quality

LG had a nice range of models but all slow as a snail in my backyard on a sunny sundaymorning after it ate 1 acre of vegtables...

i think i missed something but if you want more details... ask me, i have tons of brochures...

Posted by Jim
wOOt we maded it to part II .

Give us alot of details about the S700, like the feeling of it, the keys, camera and video, built in speaker ?, reception, pics from the phone. Any chance someone know when se will launch the new phones ? (belgium tends to be late )

And what about the T650 ?

Posted by aem kei
well the problem is that it wasn't THE real S700.

you could clearly see that because it had no markings or branding... just plain silver

the only thing that we could see is that it had a TOTAL different interface, the screen and camera... no messaging or calling function was embedded...

and i've seen the z1010 to... i must say...

In Samuel L. Jacksons way:

thats a big motherf**ker!!!

that thing is HUGE!!
but it was nice to work with, it's even wider than a NEC, a bit thicker than a Z600 and the same hight than a T610...

Posted by Jim
What the menu interface is different from the T6x0/Z600 ? I hope it's better then.

And congrats to abelsco for updating their site ... not !!!

Posted by bart
its the same meny system, but strangly there where no marks on the phones at cebit (my dad was there lucky b******** and i saw alot of pics online) jumper will put the pics my dad made at cebit up on usep real soon.
somebody should call abelso. and since they only speak french i'm looking at jim

oyea on vergelijking there planning a trip to cebit 2005 with everone of us. so guys if you're intrested come and visit (sorry jim its in dutch) but hey you can come

Posted by aem kei
yeah you are right... it's the same menu

i was mistaken with the SO505i, that phone has a rotating menu...

Posted by Jim
Thanks bart but this year I didn't go to CEBIT because it's a long trip ( I'm the only one that can drive ... sigh ) and I don't wanna drive like 5/6 hours

Good morning Belgium! I've spent three months in your country. About to work there for three years. Looking forward... See ya!

Posted by racingboy
what are you going to do here?

greetzzz

Posted by Atlis
Can't tell. Do you know SHAPE?

Posted by Jim
Yeah everybody knows the SHAPE, so you gonna work there ?
It's far from all of us but it's close from where I go to school

Posted by Atlis
So, yes I hope so. There's Tech. University in Mons I think...

Posted by Jim
Yes the UMH. So you know french or dutch or german ?

Posted by Atlis
Good question - a little bit french, german, russian. English is important in that place.

Posted by Jim
Yeah well once outside you need to know french cause you will be in Wallonie and they only speak french

Called Abelsco a week ago or something to ask if I could get my Z600 flashed (damn bugs are irritating me big time now), and the guy told me that they cannot update any software themselves at this moment (they have to send the phones off to some other place), but he assured me that the service desk would be able to do updates again in 1 or 2 weeks. Will call them again this w/e or so and ask again.

Could also explain why their site has been down for months now, and is still not up. Guess there is some major restructuring going on over there...

Posted by Jim
Oh I see, +- one month ago I was at abelsco for a problem with my dads P900 screen, I asked if they could flash my Z600 quickly and they said that they moved their Service Center to a bigger place ( they have all Benelux now !!! ) and the big boss said that they will let a computer for the sw upgrades but I had to wait 1 or 2 weeks ..................

After one month they are still with the "1 or 2 week story"

Posted by bart
its a shame that the people at abelsco aren't good at doing there job, come on guys you're SE's main store go for it

Posted by Jim
Well they are good but lazy actually no one is good in there, only the boss knows everything about se phones. I allways talk to him not the others

Posted by Jim
Just watched Gothika, what a scaring movie but it's like "The Ring" anyway it's a good film if you don't have anything to do or watch.

Anyone here living in Tervuren or Leuven?

Posted by -V-Max-
Why are you all speaking english in a dutch thread!

Posted by Jim
Belgium is not only dutch

Posted by BobaFett
Do like the idea, that u speak here eng even its a belgien thread, so others can follow your thoughts and experiences. But u could make it on the peruan or portugal way and speak your own language. Your place, your decision ;-)

Posted by bart
belgium has got 3 main languages: dutch, french (jim) and german. so we keep it in english cause most people know english and its a global language

Posted by racingboy
hehehe

we have 3 languages and it is still not enough

Posted by bart
if the SPA gets controle politicly: we'll be able to say in the next 4-6years that there will be a 4th! Arabic!!!

Posted by Jim
Nah I don't think that it will happen

Posted by racingboy
no, but i've heard that chinese will be the next world language...

Hi,

Maybe someone can help me!!!!

I've got a bluetooth usb adaptator and I can syncronise it with my P800 using the tecom software, but I can't use it with the SE PC suite, it won't recognize it in the phone list!!!
All the setting are good with bluetooth checked in the properities

Has someone an answer?

Posted by bart
have you cheaked the SE site for the latestes software for the PC sync?

Posted by Jim
I also had problems with SE software and my bt dongle for the P800, seems that it isn't possible to access the phone that way, you have to use the deskstand. But I could be wrong
