hello,

i had a t130 and another famaily member had a t610 my joystick got spoilt 3 to 4 months of normal usage (i used to play games with the keypad) and the t610 (no games) got spoilt after 2 months !!! we got phones replaced and my joystick is spoilt again, this time after 3 months only.

has anybody elses joystick got spoilt, can they fix it ?

PHONE IS UNDER WARRANTY.

PS: for research purposes.. do any of SE's new phones have a joystick (z600....) ?

My t300 joystick got spoilt after nearly a year. They replaced it for me. It seems fine now.

When i push up on my joystick it dont work and its as if i press enter with it. And the z600 dont have a joystick

My joystick became unresponsive after a month and a half, but then corrected itself and I haven't had a problem since.

the absence of a joystick was one of the reasons i chose the z600, precisely because i thought it would be spoilt after some time.

thanks..
keep em rolling

The Z600 is a clamshell and clamshells can't have joysticks sticking up when it's closed. That's one of the things I like with the Z600, I'm not a big fan of the phone joysticks

I've got a friend with a T310, his joystick doesn't respond from time to time (he's had it for about 6 months). I guess it's a common problem when you keep it in your pockets.

ive had my phone for about 6 months now (its a t610) and ive had no problems with it... i dont think i would ever buy a phone without a joystick again its so much more comfortable

My T 68i joystick has spoilt after 18 months. Change of joystick is expensive so I decided to buy new phone T 610. Joystick of my T 610 is still o.k. after 3 months. By the way I use now joystick very carefully.

I had it 3 times in service . The first 2 times, they fixed the contacts and last time, they changed finally the joystick. Now I don't have any problems with it.

Posted by boto43
@elrond where ur joystick was changed?

Posted by magster
On my t300 it has only just startd 2 play up- if i switch off and then on it appears 2 work

Posted by Elrond
@boto43 I gived it Orange and they sent it to MOVYS. It was in warranty, so it was for free, but the joystick alone cost cca 50,-Sk.

Mine got damaged after 3 months of intensive usage. I paid 15 euros for new one (i have no warranty). Now i'm avoiding using the joystick whenever i can getting use of the keyboard shortcuts

My T610 is six months old and the stick feels a lot less unresponsive now, and at the moment it really doesnt like to register when moved left. Now if it was right and/or stick in it would be really annoying. Could SE not make a phone that lets you get into the menu easily after 6 months of use without having to press the button multiple times and really 'push' it (which can't make it any better) to make it work?

apparently, all problems with se joystics are caused by the pocket dirt. that's why they work incorrectly from time to time and then, out of the blue, they repair themselves and seem ok. waiting is the best solution to the problem although when it happens too often and/or doesn't change for too long, take it to the service. of course if you happen to have a warranty.

my t68i's joystick spoilt once...after 1 year of usage...it worked again after some oiling! =D

my T616 has little fits where the joystick decides to be slow or unresponsive for days on end. I started using number shortcuts on the icon desktop and the plus and minus buttons on the side to navigate menus and webpages. Now I find I actually use my phone faster since I started using keys other than the joystick. and with less usage it tends to act up less often.

I should be getting a P910a so this issue will go away soon.

My got spoilt on T300 after 11months. They replaced it with a new one and it's working fine since then.

Why not just open up your phone, clean out the clumps of dust, and reassemble the phone back. Worked for me. I foud a WHOLE lot of dist in there.

Hi I have a solution.

I had a problem with my t630 joystick to. It did not respond at all loads of times.
Well I ran to the store bought WD40 (loads of other stuff you can use that to like crackling volume controls.).
You open your phone:
this is dutch put it contains excelent pistures http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/942139
the top is the hardest to open.
With a screw driver you just lift it up a bit. Now SLIDE the top of.

once you know it is easy.

For the rest remove the keyboard and the joystick button. Now drop a couple of drops onto your joystick and press and play with it for a bit so the WD40 can sink in. Clean up all the mess on the side so that it is good and dry.
After 20 minutes put back together your phone again and for me it worked like a charm again. Like it was new.

PLease note that I am not responsible for any broken phones trying this out. I think it is safe and for me it worked perfectly. But be carefull with spilling wd40 as it is conductive. Also do not USE the CAN spray. Spray a bit on a stick so you can make small drops and put that on the joystick....

Good luck....

I can report in 3 t610 phones, my and of 2 mates of mine. My case is almost paradoxal- i really handled it gently, and mostly use numpad and shortcuts, never play games on it and it started to fail up direction after 3-4 months. My mate abused his phone for 18 months (he only didn't use it as a skateboard i think :-]) and now his joystick works better than mine :-[. How come?

Because "spoilt" sounds quite a lot better than "really used n worn n shit"

I had a T610 for a while, the joystick stopped working properly after a few months - it would go inwards whenever you pressed upwards, which was really annoying. I've got a K700i now, but the joystick on that has just started to become unresponsive when you push it in as well.

My joystick still works fine after 398785 moves, only yhe fw that is kinda slow.

There was a time thoug, when it would not go left, & when you press down it would type 3!!! WTF?
