A computer game addict in western China collapsed and died at his screen after playing the popular online game Saga non-stop for 20 hours, a news report said today.
The 31-year-old began playing the game regularly at an internet cafe in Chengdu, Sichuan province, three months before his death, according to the South China Morning Post.
An employee at the cafe said he would play for more than 10 hours a day and was found dead on Saturday morning after a marathon 20-hour session, the newspaper said.

I hope he pre paid his bill at the cafe!! 20hours is a lot of money, the owner won´t be happy at all!

lol, i regually do 12 hour sessions through the night at my local cafe, normally collaspe at about 4pm the next day, though that is only for a 16hr sleep, not perminantly

lol yeah, those two stories are now embedded in 'Internet Folklore' as they call it
My personal favourite is the IT worker who had a heart attack at his desk at work and wasn't discovered for several days! It's widely regarded as being untrue, but nowadays, it wouldn't surprise me if something like that really did happen

I am supposing here that the sequence of his death were as follows :
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

How can you possibly play games that long? I get all cramped after like 2 hours of games, and i generally get bored as well. 12 hours a day, playing games, what a way to live your life!

the gates of heaven i would imagine.
I am just a little perplexed as to whta them pics could possibly contribute
Not to mention the fact that ppl might just take posts less seriously if every single one of them by one poster is accompanied by one or more 'more or less' relevant images.
It's just getting old imho
as for the topic of dieing 'in the heat of the game'

anyone heard of goatse?
and as for all the pictures that have been posted...
im sure laffen only implemented the upload image feature, so people could post relevant pictures to do with phones (themes, modded phones, etc)
not animated pictures of computers.
I have actually mentioned something before myself too, all the pictures you're posting jojo, aren't amusing, they're just a pain. And also a waste of bandwidth...

ta for bringing that up?

@mixin - Since I was the last one who posted that photo, I guess that those were the hands of the Great One ready to get the soul of the Chinese guy who died.
@mixin & @vlammetje - I guess posting of images greatly depend on the kind of thread that you are in . Such topics/replies posted would just be very realistic in nature if backed-up by a very 'pertinent' image as well. Just like in the news, don't you think that it will be more 'believable' to the viewers of CNN/BBC had they not shown on tv screens the 'real-time' photos of Saddam Hussein when he was captured months ago? Say, had they released the news in just pure 'text' context, would you think that the majority of it's viewers specially to that of the people of Iraq would just believe the news? They would just be having second thoughts here if it was really their leader right? So, they back-up their claims by putting on some latest photos some were even shown in video format.
I would always be considering your thoughts and concern here mates, as what I had been told by a number of the members here before. Rest assured that it will be practiced 'religiously' from hereon.
I remain . . . together with my images ! (he,he,he)

so if the BBC put a animated cartoon of saddam on it would give the same effect?
and no, picture number 5, has nothing to do with heaven at all.

@mixin - Well, to be honest, I've seen one here in Manila re: Saddam's capture depicted in full animation (caricature). Well, that is beyond the topic now if we are to relate my present situation here at esato.com. Just rest assured that my posting of text backed-up by images (support) will be limited from hereon in - promise! You just reminded me as well about the 'bandwith' my photos are eating/space at esato. Thanks for the very 'timely' reminder mate!
@vlammetje - 'dying' - is spelled as it is and not, 'dieing' as you posted. As in the movie Dying Young - background music performed by Kenny G, just forgot the protagonists of the film.

That person getting shot after playing counterstrike happened here, after that incident they closed the place and opened a video game rental store. I guess someone got mad at that too and shot at one of the windows. What the hell is wrong with kids these days?
