Hello,
I saw on gsmarena that most phones can add a picture or photo to a contact of the phonebook. So I gave it a name: "RingtonePiX".
Why RingtonePiX?
On the internet there are hidden documents of new productnames for ringtones. Kodak uses the name pix for photos and other big companies use the name PiX for pictures or filmproductions.
Maybe you don't like the name, but I do, because you can remember the name very easy.
I found one example of a ringtonepix and I use it myself, it is fun to use it:
The company behind these RingtonePiX will introduce the product this month in the Netherlands and Belgium.

uhm, ok. just what exactly are you trying to say? are you renaming picture ID to "ringtonepix"? sounds like spam to me. there are multiple companies that sell picture ID images (small gifs). unfortunately people buy them because they dont know that almost any image can be uploaded to the phone and be used as ID

seems to me my country is about to be graced with yet another company jumping on the bandwagon

Thought the idea behind Picture ID was to have a picture of the person ringing?
Posted by Vlammetje
yes and for me that's the only way to ever use it
I don't really need any 'fun' pix to pop up to random ppl who ring me

Well...
Jamba will soon come with VideoRingtones. Sorry to say, but only Symbian phones can have this and they are saying that every phone can handle it, so I call that stupid.

and your point is....?

Als je het niet interessant vind Vlammetje, dan kijk je toch de andere kant op?

MY point is: that I do not understand what you are getting at. You post about 'ringtonepix' which is a 'product' about to be sold here, but you remain vague as to WHAT exactly it is or even where to get it.
Then you switch to jamba, which is a 'wap-contents-provider' I believe, you state something which I can only reconstruct as 'Jamba is stupid' but i still don't know what it is that you are trying to say in the first place.
No need to scold me for that or get angry. And if you do feel the need to be rude to me, do so in English so everybody understands what you're saying.

*seriously, don. vlam is not the only one confused with what you are trying to say. drive the point home, like: "i think ringtonepix is great" im still perplexed about the original post.

So basically you are talking about a new service, that is already available to everyone with more than 2 brain cells? But you are going to charge for this small image, that displays when the phone rings?
Off topic slightly but does anyone know if there is a way to add one picture to every person in the phonebook at the same time, to save doing it individually.

Let us all not forget: this guy joined Esato on the 6th of March. There is a high chance that he doesn't know that much about cellphones, and read on "GSMForums", that you can add pics to callers.
Of course, he could just be stupid.

well I'm relieved that I'm not the only one who didn't exactly get it then

Lets just ignore this crap and move on. Dont really think anyone truly cares about ringtonepix or whatever, or maybe those with no pics of family or friends will. Goodluck to them.
Anyway, best to ignore this thread.
