But large images (wider than the text area of 550 pixels) will be scaled down.

Surely using the image tags is more convenient? And it means you don't have to save the pic in the first place to upload. And a lot of people have that cookie problem, so they wont be able to see the pics.

I see what you mean now. I meant linking to external phone pics etc. Not personal pics. But still, sounds like It's gonna take a lot of space. I know i'd rather use my own free geocities account and do it that way.

I think this is a bad ideea
Yeah, flame me but this forum will get transformed as it happened to other forums where ppl post huge pics and huuuge signatures...and for what?To read a line u have to wait for all the crap to load ..just a waste of bandwidth and time. There should be a limit in kb(25 or 30 should do it) and a pixel limit ..so no1 will abuse it.

There is a pixel limit. And the size limit could be added later if this turns out to be a problem.
Anyway. The upload feature is just an addition to the existing system where you could link to (large) external pictures. It's hasn't been any pixel or size limit on these images.. And I don't think it's been a problem.

You can fake it, put an image to your sig, when you post, nothing will happen but everytime you edit one of your post it will work
