nice guys, i can remeber how i used to play snake on my dad's monocoloured extremely small screen nokia which he had constantly plugged in for charging in his car, as the battery used to run out so fast!!, it is quite amazing how fast the popularity of mobile phones has increased, and also how their technology has advanced, i mean it was just a couple of years ago, people would have laughed if u told them your phone had a camera!
Check these out: "Ringtone Market Now Worth Frightening US$2.5 billion"
"Total mobile subscribers top 1.8 billion"
"In many countries, mobile phones now outnumber land-line telephones, with most adults and many children now owning mobile phones. In the United States, 50% of children own mobile phones"

Phillips Genie. With hi-res screen (100x64), EFR, voice dialing, SMS delivery reports, and todo list. Much better than any Ericsson or Nokia at the time. I've still got it, and it works fine.

Way back around the time of Fred Flintstone, I was sporting one of these sleek babies:

my very first phone was an analog Nokia 909... omg i remember i was one of only 3 people who had own cellphones back when i was 13yo. mom gave it to me as a present. the antenna peeks out of my pocket all the time because its ridiculously big for a phone!

my first GSM phone however was an alcatel one touch view... barely 3mos after getting the n909 hahahah. well, its another gift from mom. quite a basic phone... what i hate about it most is it doesnt have a lowercase function for text input! weird!

unfortunately, both phones are dead now thanks to battery leaks... now they're just conversation pieces on my coffee table

chronologically, the next phones i had were the nokia 3310, nokia 5510, ericsson A3618s, SE T310, SE Z600, SE S700i, SE T230, nokia N-Gage (side-talkin original one), and then my phone/s now... SE K800i and a refurbished T610 i bought from a friend...

gee, with that said, i never though of having so much as 12 phones in the past 8 years... and to think im just 21 now and im not even working yet...

Nokia 1611 (I think) back in 1997-98.
Knew only one who also had a cell...and someday we discovered a little thing called sms. Never heard of it back then...

My first ever phone was a Nokia Ringo and i got it on Vodafone Pay as you Talk analogue service. If i moved ever so slightly the call would cut off and i forever got crackling. It only worked well in city centre of Birmingham elsewhere in city it was poor. Ah memories.

my first was the samsung d500, but a pal of mine, had a mobile phone from when they were first introduced. It was a motorola, with a big aerial. 50 per min it cost me to borrow it from london to manchester.

That's strange, I don't recall the T39 ever being originally released in colours other than: a soft blue, a very deep/dark navy blue, and a soft white.

My very first phone was a Sony ... cannot recall the model but it was a CDMA model for ClearNet in Canada (ClearNet was bought and became Telus Mobility). That lasted 3mths in my hands and I sold it to a friend. Then I got smart and bought the Ericsson T18z on Fido - a pure GSM carrier with amazing rates which killed its profits and eventually got bankrupt and allowed by CRTC to be bought by Rogers Wireless.

So yeah for a very long long time I was already in the frame of mind of using a Sony ... Ericsson .
But I evolved, hadn't in the ways I required.

Such a great phone

Posted by Bonovox
My first mobile was in 1997 when Vodafone was still analogue. It was a Nokia Ringo which could not even send texts. I got it from a store called Tandy

My first phone

Ericsson EH97, a very stylish analog phone during its time with stereo sound earpiece and 10 caller memory, was a solid performer too, I could drive anywhere in town without getting disconnected in fact, better than any of the digital phones I have today.
Ironically I lost it at a public phone booth after the battery died and I had to make an important phone call

Posted by Bonovox
Man that is one ugly phone. I remember the old Ericsson phones with the tiny screens and massive ariels. My first Nokia phone on analogue service was as bad as if you moved just a tiny bit the call would cut off. Nothing changes much on Vodafone since
