If any one rembers the motorola road map that was leaked about a year ago, they had something called the paragon II which looked very tasty indeed. Well they've finally got close to commercial launch. Might get one of these rather than a Z1010!!

Of course it's a PX00 challenger! Those are 3G phones. The PX00 are 2.5G phones. It terms of features, 3G phones will sink sub-3G phones.

There is no competition, as these are 2 totally different technologies.
In 2.5G, the P900 is still the best.
3G has it's own war, but I still say the so505i is the winner.
So no, the P900 does not finally have serious competition, because you cannot pop your sim into a 3G phone.

*Duh* back I'm afraid, I'm not talking about the air interface technology. If you read the specs it is a Symbian 7 (i.e. UIQ) phone with a very rich feature set (wma, mp4, remote headphones etc.). It will challenge P8/900 directly as it offers terminal features on the handset that SE currrently doesn't offer. I don't actually care what netwok technology it uses. If/When I got one I'd be using it on GSM/GPRS anyway as three operate a walled garden content model in the UK meaning I can't use that nice whizzy bandwidth for anything I actually want to do...

7700 is NOT a P900 Challenger.
The upcoming Communicator (maybe introduced at Cebit) is. It will have partly the same software as the 7700 but a more traditional, Communicator-like design.

PX00 challenger? Hmmm... I'm afraid not! Especialy for those who give a lot of attention on the phone's design. This Motorola phone's design is very boring and common. It looks to me more like a concept phone from the 90s. You might ask yourself 'does that really matter when its features are many and great?'. Well, I'll answer that with another question: Isn't it, among many other great features, the design that makes SE phone's so unique and market leading?...

Here in South Africa is not easy to get a P900.The local dealer offered me a 7700 if I can wait till end of next month ! He showed me the specs next to a P900. Conclusion: I will wait ! ! !
