@bogdano, what about my questions about chat rooms and msn/k700i???

We disabled on purpose the MSN support on K700i as the phone crashes unexpectedly when receiving the double "@" address. We try to find a work around for K700. Soon though.

Chat rooms are not yet enabled at Yamigo.

Posted by shyam335
Is that old java client still available ?

I can connect on my K700i with contract O2 but not on my wife's Nokia 6230 on O2 pay and go. Does anyone know if O2 pay and go block the port yamigo needs, and if so, is there a work around?

Thanks.

Its definately not 12 min on my k700i. I'm talking to my pal and the minute he sends me an im through AIM i get it 10-15 sec later. The only problem i have is saving contacts.

Adding contact : ****@aim.net

Error when adding this contact. Contact list does not exist.

Posted by plasmadog
the delay is a bit more while sending from msn, but once the connection is up and running, it is pretty fast.
but, imo its best when u are using it to chat to another person using my friends.
its a whole lot easier to send/receive im ' s rather than sms/mms.

hi there! i'm trying to use your yamigo service. I think that your product is an excelent one. But my problem is: I can connect into the system, but, I appear offline to my yahoo buddies, and they too for me. The logon process is ok. I'm using a T630 pgone. My yamigo user is iga3kun! thanks for yor sugestions!

Got yamigo up and running - s700i - but a little confused - have been reading the forum here - but not found exactly the problem.

I have three data accounts on the phone - one MMS, one WAP and one GPRS. To get a successful login to yamigo via My Friends I have to use the WAP account - the GPRS one just times out. The WAP account signs in just fine (you can find my login listed on yamigo's website too). However - every 12 mins I get a message "Wrong internet account" on the phone's screen. Probably when polling (since its 12 mins).

Any ideas anyone?

I'm also one of the pitty fools that are unable to start the "my friends" thingy.
I suspect the previous posters just don't have the icon on their "desktop", same here...
Though I have a 'white' T630, not a T-Mobile one!

Posted by craigl21
I am using k700 had same prob till did upgrade, maybe firmware niggle

Posted by chrissearle
Sorry - did you mean that you had the "Wrong internet account" problem until you had a firmware upgrade?

After a few good months of silence we make a new release during Christmas time.

New features or bug fixes in this release:

* Support for scandinavian, germanic, extended, etc. (UTF-8) character sets on MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger.

* New "Gas Meter" service. Now you can calculate in a simple manner the fuel consumption average of your car by sending the mileage and the consume at every car refill to the Yamigo user: "wv:gas" like eg: "340 32.5" This message will be interpreted as 340 km or miles with 32.5 liters or gallions. The order doesnt count as we will assume that the highest number is the mileage. Send the message "reset" if you want the counters to be reset and average calculation restarted.

* Normalization of local resources. "wv:resource@yamigo.com" and "wv:resource" are refering the same resource. No more duplicates if local domain is present (eg: like it was happening for most of the SonyEricsson phones that could set the domain namespace). All previously exisiting duplicates were removed from the database.

Cheers,
Yamigo Support wishes you a Very Merry Christmas

Hi. I've a problem with the "My friends" service. When I am trying to add a contact, there is message that says that the contact couldn't be added to the contact list. Is there anything I can do so I can add contacts to my list?

I have a SE T630.

New Year's Eve Release of Yamigo 0.10

Friday, 31 December 2004

Fixes and new features:

A long awaited fix for the double "@@" notation. From now on a buddy WV address needs to escape the first "@" by replacing it with the sequence "%2540" Eg: "wv:yamigosupport@hotmail.com@msn.com" needs to be entered in the phone as: "wv:yamigosupport%2540hotmail.com@msn.com". Most of the users wont be required to do any changes to their buddy lists as we changed the entries in the database. All Nokia users though will need to change the entries in theirs phones as Nokia phones currently DONT download the contact lists from the server. To our knowledge all SonyEricsson and Motorola obtain the contact lists and their content at login time. As a result of this fix K700i phones WILL login to MSN.

Support for Yahoo offline messages. Now you will be able to receive at login time all the outstanding messages from Yahoo.

Support for UTF-16 for AIM/ICQ

Yamigo Forum started

Improved UTF-8 sending for Yahoo! messaging (eg Chinese)

Upcoming in 0.11:

Automatic population of the contact lists from external sources. We are planning this new feature, yet most of the Nokia phones wont benefit from it currently as they dont download the list from the server. No ETA though.

ICQ presence update fix.

Yamigo release 0.14 deployed

Tuesday, 25 January 2005

New weather service available:

Send a message to "wv:weather" or "wv:meteo" containing your city name, and you will get the current weather conditions on your phone. If you send your country name instead, you will get the conditions for all major weather stations in the country. Please note that city names must be entered using the ASCII transcription of the city name in the local language (e.g. you must send "Wien" for "Vienna", "Zaragoza" for "Saragossa" or "Bucuresti" for "Bucharest"), while country names must always be sent in English (eg "Spain" and not "Espaņa"). Eg for "London" you will get this result (fragmented):

LONDON, ONT.
0.0C (32F) Overcast clouds at 304.8 meters

EGLINTON / LONDONDERR
8.0C (46F) Broken clouds at 548.64 meters

LONDON / GATWICK AIRPORT
3.0C (37F) Few clouds at 914.4 meters

LONDON CITY AIRPORT
3.0C (37F) Clear skies

LONDON / HEATHROW AIRPORT
5.0C (41F) Broken clouds at 9144.0 meters

EAST LONDON
23.0C (73F) Scattered clouds at 762.0 meters

...

Fixes deployed this release:

Problems receiving messages to Nokia Series60's client (Nokia 6630, Nokia 7610) Problems where caused by incorrect WBXML encoding.
AIM and ICQ supported separately update your profile if you need to login to the both systems.
Validity period for the messages fixed.

Yamigo release 0.15 deployed

Tuesday, 01 February 2005

New features:

From yamigo.com:

"For the phones supporting CIR/STCP signaling channel the message delivery is from now instantaneous. Phones that we know are supporting CIR / STCP are Nokia 6630, Nokia 7260, Nokia 7270 and Nokia 7610. We wait for an official confirmation, but the initial guess is that the phone needs to be configured to use a "internet" APN or else the signaliging channel is not maintained correctly by the phone. We'll update this information as soon as it will be available to us.
Coming up next release:

Group feature. Starting with 0.16 you'll be able to discuss with your friends and colleagues in the chat rooms."

Yamigo is just getting better. Works in my k700 like a breeze...i chat with my msn contacts all the time, and it isnīt expensive either

Posted by govigov
Arez, will you be an angel and quote me the settings? I have a registered name at yamigo.com. I used once but never managed to add contacts, seems you need to add each contact manually, and some wierd junk should be added in the email address to make it work. Will you pls guide me on that too?

Posted by ares
You should add your msn contacts like this: imagine your friend msn is friend@gmail.com - you should add him to My Friends as friend%40gmail.com@msn.com Its pretty simple once you get used to it ;-) other option is waiting your mates to send messages to your phone - then you can automaticaly add then to your list ;-) by the way since yesterday i cant acess yamigo's network, anyone experienced this?

Posted by govigov
Ok. Got it. Is there any prob with yahoo and yamigo. I heard there were compatibility issues and yahoo currently does not work.

Posted by ares
I only use it with msn...but right now i cant use anything i always get network error? How about you gov can you connect right now to the yamigo network?

Posted by k4m!k4ze
Yahoo changes it's protocol at least once a month to prevent third party clients from using its service so you can forget getting an up-to-date client which works properly

Posted by mario2002
Unless you use AgileMessenger ;-) Y on earth should I use yamigo if there is already a much better option out there and is free ? ? ? (Obviously you have to have the right cellphone first ;-)

Posted by ares
1 - yamigo is also free2 - its not inferior to agile messengerSo?

Posted by triggerbokie
i cant stay connected with the k700

Posted by ares
Yamigo is running again

Posted by mario2002
Do you have the option to exchange files/pictures? How about PTT? Can you connect to QQ?And is the Yahoo connection reliable? AgileMessenger has a superb graphic interface :-) And can any java enabled cellphone use it? How popular is it anyway? Can I download it and set it up from my cellphone or do I need a PC for the task? And lastly - where can I get the program from?

Posted by ares
Sorry, you canīt have it in that brick of yours because "Obviously you have to have the right cellphone first"

Yamigo release 0.17 deployed

New features on this release:

[*]RSS news on you phone. News from a selected set of providers are available to you. CNN, BBC, Formula1 news are delivered to your mobile by specialized robots. You can stop and start those messages to be delivered to your phone by writing "start" or "stop" or "status" to the named robot. The robots are as from now called wv:cnn, wv:bbc, wv:f1 The new service is enabled by default. Please feel free to stop them if you consider them too intrusive. Also use the voting system to rate this new service.

[*]Motorola login problems fixed. Some users were experiencing login problems from some of the Motorola phones. A workaround is deployed to fix this issue.

[*]Invite to chat rooms supported. You can create chat rooms and invite your buddies to them.

[*]MSN phone icon. From now on your buddies using MSN 6.2+ will see you connected from a mobile device when you login to Yamigo from your phone. A small phone icon will be shown next to your user ID in their contact list.

[*]Blocking users. Blocking is checked now also when the delivery is imminent.

I have am S700 and the Yamigo service works a treat, no more message lag since using the upgraded service. But I cannot see my Msn contacts online although I have encoded the contacts email address to include %40 and %240. Do I still need to do this?

If I try and send an IM a error message appears saying:

"Can not use session until log in has been completed."

Is that telling me I have not logged in properly. I can chat to other users just not my MSN contacts as they are not shown as online.

My login details are:

Username: Goldenface
Domain: Yamigo.com
Password ********
Server: http://www.yamigo.com/wv/control
Internet Profile O2 WAP GPRS
Auto Login: On
Allow Connection: Anywhere

I am using a SE S700i.

Yamigo release 0.18 deployed

Sunday, 10 April 2005

New features in this release:

Automatic population of YAHOO/MSN/AIM/ICQ. You can ask Yamigo server to automatically populate the contact list by enabling "Fetch contacts" in your profile. You need to log in and then visit "Your Details" page from "User menu".

You have the option to enable contact list fetching per every external account (Yahoo/MSN/AIM/ICQ) for which you have defined a username and a password. The fetch flags will be reset at the next succesful login. AIM and ICQ are treated as one.

This feature is supported by most of the SonyEricsson phones. To our knowledge it is NOT supported by Nokia phones. Soon will be available for Motorola phones.

Read more here http://www.yamigo.com/content/view/19/34/

Siemens detection criteria added. You can see this in the "Online users stats" page available from the Main Menu.

Fantastic change!!!!!!

Bogadano, why donīt you change the title of the topic, mentioning also k700, s700, etc and not only t630???

Posted by goldenface
Got mine working at last, I can see all my msn contacts.

The good thing about Yamigo is that it runs in the background so you can use all the other functions of your phone.

I also contacted O2 to find out how much my data charges were so far and they told me I wasn't being charged, even though I asked to be subscribed to a data package - so Yamigo is entirely free

Hi all of you guys using Yamigo,
I've been using Yamigo for over 3 months now, and this is my first real and serious problem with it. i even triesd to PM some of you for a solution or even an understanding of the problem, but I also needed to post my problem onn the forum coz when I did my research, my problem was mentioned only once in a russian forum !
My problem is this:
Yamigo was working fine till last Thursday, and on Friday all of sudden, I could log in all right, but I could no longer see the status of my contacts (all are off line all the time) and when I tried to send messages to my contacts or even to start the bbc breaking news service, it alwys said (default_error_id).

I don't konw what the problem's cause might be, I've changed nothing in the settings, but I noticed that the Yamigo site home page is down.

So please tell me what to do, or even what the heck is going on.

The thought of losing your connection to your online friends sounds unbearable.

After trying to find a solution to the problem on the internet, I found only this link, which is in Russian and in it I found the message that I see whenever I try to send a message (default_error_id). The link is :

http://www.mobile-review.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-18930.html

So please heeeeeeeeeeeeelp me to get back to my online friends again. Thanks in advance
