Ok, lately I keep getting the "FORBIDDEN" massage on all Java downloads!! (I thought it may be the sites, but then...)
Then I decided, one way to solve this, put them on my own wap site (with all MIME types set) and it says forbidden!
I looked this up and saw stuff about O2 servers, but my site is a domain not hosted by them; then I saw stuff about linking, so I made a page with the file links! It all doesn't work!!!
Is this caused by my site server or by my mobile service?
(I believe my site server is located close to where I live, which confuses me, so I think it's my service)

i currently have the same issue with my phone. have you fixed yours yet? how?

To reduce piracy o2 has a java blocker. You have to leave o2 if you want to download java.

That sucks big time if true. Try and swap to an o2 dial up setup then mviva or se wap account. If its true, the last 2 will work!

silly o2. a quick way to loose customers...

Because java games are very small, unlike pc games, they can be put on every free hosting server. Also java have no copy protection, unlike mophun. Big companies have sued o2 because the free mywap service it offered was a land of piracy. So o2 has disabled file linking in mywap and has also blocked the download of .jad, jar and .mpn files.

That's interesting. I tried sending a java game with an o2 email account to a 3mail account the other day. It bounced everytime i sent it. I thought it was 3 blocking it but obviously not.

just .mpn .jad .jar?

Just jar, i think.g'll give mpn a try later. There never use to be a problem with that.

Is this on the mywap sites? Cause i downloaded a java hand last nite and no forbidden said came up. And im on o2

If you download it from legal sources like handango then no problem. But everywere else it is blocked. And something of topic. I recieved a mail from my isp warning me about illegal files in p2p programms. I use p2p like mad.

tell 'em isp to mind there own business...

Just tried mpn from o2 to o2 email. Worked fine, i should've tried jar the same way. Then i'd know if o2 or 3 blocked it. I'll do that next time.

Like I said, try another wap account on your phone just when downloading .jar files. See if this fixes it. I think it should, as you would use another ip address/wap gateway etc, not the O2 one

Just tested it. Sent fine, seems 3 are blocking it so you have to pay to play. Thanks orangeman but i send all my stuff over ir after downloading it on the computer first :-D i just can't find any games the a835 will accept. I think the 3 software seeks and destroys it.
