As they say - M U S I C, is the food for the soul - of which I totally agree. I just love hearing 'jazz' music, in the likes of Diomedes Maturan, Fred Panopio and Sylvia La Torre (Filipino Old Time Faves). For the Int'l ones I like - Al Jarreau, George Benson, Martika, Kenny G, Jim Chappel, Mike Francis, Deon Estus, Jim Brickman, David Benoit, Noel Pointer, Earl Klugh etc. etc. J A Z Z music reigns !!!
What I despise hearing most are the sounds of hardcore 'metallic' music - like that of Kiss, Def Leppard, Gun's & Roses (in my opinion).
What's yours ? . . . . . .

Meat Loaf! I grew up listening to the symphonic rock Jim Steinman wrote for him to sing. Loud screaming guitars and lyrics like a theatre play.
Apart from that I swear to 60s and 70s music. I love the way they put put words an tunes together in perfect harmony.
Seems like the higher they were the better they wrote. Lyrics are, to me, just as important as the tune.

@tranquil - the 60's and 70's music truly touches my soul, specially when done/sung with the right lyrics and tunes as you mentioned. The likes of The Miracles, Lani Hall, 5th Dimension, George Duke, Sergio Mendez etc. etc. Many music connoiseurs are saying that music done in the early years 30's to 70's are the ones really to be admired about, and what the rest that we have now are branded as 'trash' and 'noises' and were not considered as "MUSIC" perse. I also like some bands from the 80's (new wave era) - Aha, Spandau Ballet, Madonna's Crazy For You and Duran Duran's The Reflex . . .

How about the songs of Andy Williams - Moon River, for the old ones here . . .

@dwin_888 - I really love jazz music too. Specially that of the song 'Jazz Once' - by James Ingram . . .
Posted by dwin_888
havent heard that one yet!
Posted by *Jojo*
@dwin_888 - Yes, the music is just fine, though a bit outdated. Tune/melody is very comparable to that of George Benson's hits . . .

ABBA is a big hit during the early part of the 80's !

rammestein surely rocks in bangalore pubs.. but i have heard only from their 'du hast' und 'die sonne' ...
Are there better songs from them in their new albums matching the inimitable 'du hast' ?

The Beatles, once said that they are more popular than 'GOD' during their assumption in the music industry/business in the 60's !
