change the name on the main screen

Hello everyone... I need to know if there is a way to change the name that appears on the main screen of my phone and put my name instead. I have a Sony Ericsson T226.

i am guessing the only way to do it is to get a sim card reader/writer and somehow find where it say your service providers name and change it to yours
