Hi,
I need help from you guys, I want to make some EMS animation and put it on my web site (http://www.totonox.com), but until now I still can't find out what's the format that EMS animation use, so I need someone using T68i with starhub network or SingTel network and visit to the following web site:

SingTel: http://welcome.singtel.com/downloads/ems_ericsson_anim.asp
starhub: http://www.starhub.com.sg/mobile/mobile_coolgallery.asp?PhoneDataId=12

Get a animation send to your T68i and use T68i send the animation to your pc and finally send the animation file via email to me, so that I can check what file format it use.

If anyone able to help pls let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Okay guys, I just came back from SESC this afternoon. They confirmed to me that the upgrading sw for T68 are compatible with T68i sw. Meaning that not only they upgrated MMS also includes 90% of what T68i sw has. (Not fully).
The sw is currently tested by SE engineering dept. Not the SC. If nothing goes wrong, quite likely they will release the sw to the SC for them to do the upgrading for us by end May. Hopefully this info is good enough for all of you. That is the best that I can do.

so what is th 10% which is left ou t????

Posted by TonyG

Obviously they would not let you have all 100% what T68i has is'nt it?
Or else who want to buy T68i? Especially between the two models the pricing is so much different now. If they give you the same sw. Every body will buy the T68 and Upgrade to T68i sw for free.

They did not tell me what are the differences. Sorry! They only told me to find out myself after it had been upgraded.

TonyG->thx for the info and keep us update with the latest info that u hear from SE
anyway 90% of t68i is already enough for me as long as it contains picture phone book,MMS,i-melody,e-zi text and some more new feature
please add if i forget something here
Hopefully they can release it by end of may

Posted by TonyG

dairin>- No problem mate. However, I will still drop in to SESC once a while to check what is the latest info. Will keep you all update if I have the latest news.

Hi guys... finally some fellow users in Singapore... anyways... I just called up SE and this is the reply they gave me...
madhero: is the MMS upgrade ready for my T68m?
girl: no
madhero: so when will it be ready?
girl: dunno
madhero: will SE charge for that upgrade when it is ready?
girl: dunno
madhero: thanks anyway
girl: hangs up
Guess we will be having a hard time in getting a reply on the MMS upgrade soon...
But going back on the topic of the R2B upgrade.. I had mine upgraded about 3 months back, and these are the new stuff that I got:
1) Games: new games were introduced. However tetris is gone. So for those of you who likes Tetris, do not upgrade... New games like Otello and 3 hidden games etc...
2) As for the T9 during SMS, it's still as slow as ever... no improvement at all I should say...
3) No faster speen in the menus nor any new logos added...
So basically I guess the R2B upgrade is only for debugging and clearer calls... which I did not see any difference from when I bought the phone in the first place...
And it took 1 hour for the upgrade which I had it done at SE opposite Novena Square...
Feel free to contact me at 97424242 and maybe we could swap pointers on T68 and any upgrades that are coming...

Hi madhero>- wellcome aboard. Do you know that now the latest sw is
R2D? No wonder you still getting the bugging SMS. As far as I know and I hove done a few upgrades, it only take less than half an hour to complete. 1 hr? Too long time.

Hi TonyG... Thanks...
R2D??? ahh... no wonder that SMS is still slower than my fingers... I had to change my phone back to Nokia 8250 when I wanted to chat on SMS... *lol* guess it's time to visit SE againz... But then, whenever i think about the queue... it's puts me off man... maybe coz the SE ctr that i visit is more popular...
Maybe I'll drop in right after this...
So how about that MMS upgrade? will they be charging it? And if i upgrade to R2D, what happens to my stuff inside my phone? eg. my phone book and pics...

By the way... how come everyone has a phone next to their nick and poor ole' me does not?

Kallang phone no. is 67497717...

To everyone> Urm you all don't know that T68i has more pixels? Better read the status of both phones clearly and you will find out that they cannot do 100% to T68i... I think if you want them to do that I think they confirm will charge as you are change the phone from T68 to T68i... So they have to make it a difference between T68 and T68i or else they wouldn't be making money selling the T68i... Oh and also it also best that we don't push them too much as if things go to fast, not everything will be done well... If we push them to much and they release early without doing more testing, I think that those who get the T68 upgrade fast will regret as there maybe bugs they did not test because of the fast pace... Anyway all be patient ba... even if you have the MMS sw or the upgrade, you can't use it until our networks have come up with the MMS service right??

Posted by madhero
Haha... I see. Thanks for the info...

Posted by madhero
Well, when I did my upgrade to R2B, the service people told me the same thing. But when I got back my phone, everything was still intact.

Posted by madhero
TonyG>>>
Well... I guess cos I stay in the north area... so I tend to visit the nearest SP to my place... Maybe I'll pay a visit to other SPs in Singapore. Though the pretty girls at GoldHill SP is too tempting... hehe...

Posted by dairin
madhero --> which pretty girl u're talking abt in SESC goldhill??

Posted by madhero
dairin>>
I didn't mamage to get her name, but she was sporting long silky smooth hair and is slim... Though she needs to smile more... Maybe the stress of getting customers like us hounding them for the MMS upgrade has taken her sweet smile away...

Clody, you are a bit confused buddy, what do ya mean more pixels, now can that be with the same LCD and lcd logic drivers (it has been proved many many times before, the phone contains the SAME hardware, except for the LEDs on the keypanel, same memory, same LCD etc).

Please, everyone is not waiting for the MMS portion of trhe upgrade, there are many other features I am waiting for ... such as dynamic memory, picture viewer, and the ability to upload more than 1 pic to the phone.

The one feature for which their *may* be a difference is in the WAP browser ... yet to confirm the upgrade will give T68m owners wap2.0 or not.

As for still testing it ... yeah right, one guy has the upgrade over a month on his t68m, it has nothing to do with testing and all to do with marketing, they want you to buy a t68i, or for people looking for a new phone NOT to buy t68m and upgrade.

madhero---> i think they back uped ur hp info before doing the upgrade ... for you .. or they may have nt upgrade ur hp sw at all .. pls go check ...

Posted by TonyG

Okay, there is one thing you could check whether they have upgraded the sw for you madhero. As orang3 said could be true. Before you send it in, check your sw no. once. Than after collect it from the SC check immediately on your sw no. again. If they have done the upgrading for you, you sw no. will be not the same anymore. If not, question them.

hahaha it's not the reason for me lor, cos my house is near goldhill so i always go that SC

Should start calling the SE SP and HQ this week. From the email they sent me they do confirm week 21. But they buy some time for themselves by mentioning 'testing' in this post. If not reply from SE by the end of this week, I'll copy the email they sent me to this forum.

As for hardware differences mentioned by another user in this topic... I'd advise him to chk out the FCC specs posted in another thread in this post. From there you can come to your own conclusions.

Guys... I've tried to search for the topic of e-mail config for Sg users but came up with nothing... so I was wondering if any of you guys/gals out there have managed to config your T68 with the e-mail function... I have e-mailed to M1 (M1 user) asking for help on the POP server settings and all they did was give me a set of instructions on how to go about setting it... but they did not give me any settings that i need. I'm using Yahoo! mail... anyone could help on this?
anyways... i got the setting as follows:
POP3 server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
POP3 port: 110
SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP port: 25
I got the settings from Yahoo! but it didn't work for me...
Anyone got it working?

Yahoo doesn't allow POP3 access now unless you are paying for it. If you are paying for it ... and you still cannot get it to work, let me know what error you get.

I have starhub email access working perfectly on my Singtel T68m
