Sorry I couldn't get back to you guys earlier.
Concerning the upcoming meeting of the SE Singapore user group
I'll tentatively schedule the meeting for 24th Feb, Monday at 6.30. Venue to be confirmed later when I can finalise all the names. Seems response this time round will be better than our first so keep it up guys. I would also like you to put on your thinking caps and think about the setting up of the se club whichh would be a pioneering step for se and us users towards better relations, exchange of ideas, etc. Think about how we can contribute to the se community here in singapore through this club and bring your suggestions along so that we may feedback to se some useful information after this upcoming meeting.
Thanks to those that have pm me earlier. For the rest that are interested (including those from the first meeting that are coming but haven't given me their names), I need to finalise a name list so that I can see how many are coming and set the venue. Pm me your name and contact details preferably before this friday and I can finalise everything sooner. Hope to see more of you guys there this time round.
Dairin, no reason not to come this time!

Posted by TonyG
It is manufacturer recommendation.
Posted by jess_strawberry
follow the instruction at http://www.epocn.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=49 and you can read chinese message. However the alignment of the english will be a little out.
But make sure that you create a new folder and name it fonts in d drive, system. And then save the file to this folder instead of the c drive (mention in the above link). Please remember or you have to format your c drive.

Gathering for SE Singapore user group
24th feb, Monday
6.30pm at Spinelli's, Heeren
There'll be around 16 attending this time. Those who haven't given me their names are still welcome to do so. The more the merrier!
Posted by plim
--> TonyG , will SE engr coming down to give us more information on
their new development of H/W or S/W for current users and future
SE supporter ?
--> Jess_Strawberry :- Thanks for the information on the P800 reading
chinese characters...it works OK and I am able to see Chinese fonts
sent by Nokia phones. But all other fonts has been changed to bigger
size...so the menu looks alittle messy. But it is worth the try...Thanks
again. ---- anymore Tips/Tricks ?
Posted by TonyG
Maxxum, Plim,
From what I am told, SE Singapore had reflected this matter to their R & D . Most likely there will be a sw coming to dl for the T9 soon. As for the Chinese version P802. It is still not confirmed that whether they will bringing in later or just upgrading the Chinese sw only. Chances are great on the upgrading.
Bonner>- Will reply the answer to you tomorrow.

TonyG> u are doing a great favour to the P800 users in singapore! hope the issue of HPR20 release date, T9 for p800, reason/bugs behind the trangle reboot icon and Chinese support for p800 can find its answer on the SE meetings. Sure do hope for some great news!!
Posted by orang3
how much does a 32 mb panasonic sd card cost ?does p800 support other mem cards other than the mg stick ?
Posted by supersonicfruitfly
@orang3
you can get it to work with IR, here's how i did it:
1.download IRcomm2k from http://www.ircomm2k.de/
and install it, what it does is it creates a virtual comport on your PC.read the instructions on the site for more info.
2.download the PCControl software, connect it to the port your IRcomm2k is installed on, switch on the IR on yer phone and connect your phone to your PC via the port.
3.on your phone, goto Connect. there should be an Accessory menu now (previously it should be greyed out). under the Accessory menu, goto PCControl/winamp. Now you can control winamp with your trusty t68!
oh, and you can control powerpoint here too, which made an impression the last time i made a presentation at the workplace
hope i made sense, if not you can browse thru this thread for more info:
the PCControl forum http://www.christersson.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=20
the IR thread
http://www.christersson.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=125
download PCControl from here
http://www.christersson.org/software_pccontrol.asp
download IrCOMM2k from here
http://www.ircomm2k.de/
there's a english version, just look in the top right corner of the page, and remember to read the online manual!
hope all these helps, i muddled my way thru all these too heh

I'm lag behind so much liao... Currently using T68 (R2E006).. Can I upgrade the firmware to R6A? What's the meaning of the converted T68?? Is it about the firmware?? Thanks...
Posted by edmundt
Yes, you can upgrade your T68 to the new firmware, thereby making it similar in functionality to a T68i. Maybe that's what you meant by a "converted" T68
