dairin - since the t68 standby and talking time is so long, i think extra battery is not really needed. unless you don't have access to a charger or power point for ages.

today i just sent my t68i to kallang for upgrading and repairs... and they passed me a T28sc as a loan phone..
guess wat?
even the T28sc has the calculation problem!!! wah lau!!! this is gettin really weird man.. maybe their GH388 and 688 etc etc also got same problem oso..hahha..
you'd think they would have come up with a solution sooner...
Posted by TonyG
They should. Or else how would we have confident on the next SE phones anymore? BTW what about R600 and T200? Any calculation problems on these 2 phone?

i guess all their hps have tht problem..

Was just wondering. What is SE R & D doing. Since T28sc to T68i or maybe R600 and T200 had this calculation problems also and they can't and did not do anything about it. Either they just found out the problems or they can't be bother about it. If just one or two models happening we can accept it, but all SE phone models???

amlim-->My mistake, thanks!
Frankly guys, this calculator problem is just a minor issue at the bottom of the list of a whole lot of other bugs and problems. I remember my 388 used to jam and hang if you scroll through the menus too fast. But that was one heck of a reliable phone, build wise (I know everyone had very bad problems with the battery though). I've still got it and it works fine. I guess that we can forgive se for overlooking the calculator issue as it doesn't really affect us and they might have just turned a blind eye towards it asI've mentioned that not many people would type a few obsolete zeros after a decimal. But what it does tell us is that they still haven't got their act together. Even though Nokia, who has a new release as often as I change my underwear, has had little problems with their models, save the 8310.

Till now, My R600 hasn't given me any problems.
What calculation errors are there?
I didn't encounter any!
It would be good if you can list out an equation and I will try it on my phone!
Anway, anyone going for the T300 here?
I would be very cheap for a colour phone with mms also.
If you want to know the reason for its cheap price, go read the review on Esato!

Say, anyone have any idea what happened to the Mitsubishi Trium? It was a low-end coloured screen phone released around the same time as the T68m. Haven't seen it in shops but saw one guy carrying it sometime back. It boasts Rayman in its games!
Think the Phillips Fisio will also not be released in singapore. Also released quite sometime back. Its specs are not bad, with bluetooth, ir, picture album, etc. but the design is rather boring. It also happens to be quite small a probably wieghs a few grams more than the t68. One thing I don't like about the phone is the tedious navigation. Tried one out a couple of months back. You have to scroll through the entire menu with only the < and > buttons. Still appreciate the T68's well laid out interface which makes accessing any menu much easier.
Have you guys tested out any other new models thats soon to be relased?
Posted by cwchee
btw, anyone here operates a shop that sells phones (1st hand that is)!
If so, when the T300 is release in Singapore can tell me a price that you will be selling ( without plan also)!.
Thanks

Just a few comments. Even though T66's sw and T68i's sw is different. But I hope that T68i will have some of the functions of T66.
1) Able to look at both the phone book and sim card memory together
at 1 menu rather than 2 separate menus.
2) Able to recieve Nokia ringtones. I know that SE is trying to find
their own identity but why not ride on the waves of other
companies' fame to make this phone more value added?
3) Just a query, do you think T68i is able to upgrade to a higher
number of colour screen and polyphonic ringtone???
(Wish...wish...wish...)

Does anyone know whether any of our operators in Singapore are offering pre-booking of upcoming phones? I'll like to reserve one of the mighty P800...
Remember Singtel did something similar with the 7650...
Posted by cwchee
You might want to try out www.singtelshop.com.sg
When the phone is about to be introduced to the market in Singapore, they tend to allow you to buy/ pre-order the phones.
On the other hand, they also tend to sell at at a much higher price with plans!

cwchee--> i will inform you when my fren brings in the T300 ..

Has anyone bought the 'MCA-68' from that guy in hardwarezone? If yes, any comments on that camera? I'm planning to buy it but i would like to hear some reviews before i actually get it.... Comment anyone???
Posted by dairin
i'm not very sure abt the cam itself but got see some ads ppl selling the cam for $150 only, worth to buy ???
Posted by mrbunglez
cwchee,
try doing this:
18.00 + 0.23 and see wat u get...
by right, you should get 18.23... see wat your hp shows la...
Posted by orang3
from what i tried on my T66 .. there is no problem ..
Posted by cwchee
yeah! I did get 18.23 on my phone.
There's nothing wrong!
Anyway, who needs a calculator for such calculations?
What I need in my phone is a calculator that can use sin, cos, tan.
I remember seeing one Seimens phone with that!
Thanks orang3, I hope to hear from you soon!
Posted by orang3
it is not tht we need the calculator .. it is tht there is bugs present in our T68i sw .. and it might affect other parts of the function..which we might not have found out ..
Posted by TonyG
Yeap, I agree what orang3 had said. Though we may not even have to use the phone calculator, but it still have to be in tact. I mean, who knows one day we may have to use it for emergency if we can't find a calculator and we got the wrong answer. Can you imagine you might lost a fortune in money wise if the calculator cannot even give you a correct answer.

further more .. we paid good money for tht .. so i expect good stuff ..

Really disappointed. T68 and T68i supposed to be the top range hi-tech phone among all SE phones. (Beside P800, it had not been released yet) and yet the functions of the phone cannot even get near to T66. Such as asigned ringtones for message alert, loud message tone sound and even calculators....sigh!

Tony--> i think the T66 is diff in software wise to T68 so we just keep prying they will do something abt it or maybe alter the software so we can get the same standard as T66, dun forget T66 is already like No kia phone hehehe
Posted by orang3
hmm .. but you got to know tht the T66 has got much lesser function than T68 .. so .. it might take some time b4 .. it is really equal ///

I threw my pants into the washer and forgot that my MCA-20 was in it! When I took my pants out of the washer to dry and found my MCA-20 in the pocket I was terribly sad, so I attached it to my T68 and surprise... it works!! I could still see water bubbles and vapor in the lens, so I used a hairdryer on it for about 10mins and later drop it into a bottle of sillica gel and left it there for half a day. When I took it out all the water vapor was gone and all looks like brand new... here comes the ultimate test... I attached it back to the T68 and took some pics.... voila!! All the pictures turned out fine just like when I first bought it! SE equipment are really built to last! Three cheers for SE!!

I've got a friend working at Wywy shop and he told me that phone that are due to be released will be notified to them at least 2 months in advance. This is so that they can plan out the costing, marketing, and any other logistic problems. He has heard about the P800 but nothing about the release date. So if to this point the dealers still have no news, its quite safe to say that we won't be seeing the P800 around here at least for another 2 months.
Posted by orang3
what r u refering to ? to be release in 2mth time ?
Posted by orang3
damn it .. my t68i .. R5A just reset on me .. any 1 have tht prob ?
Posted by decimal86

No, I meant that any release will be informed to the dealer at least 2 months in advance. So, its just safe to say that the P800 won't be hitting our shores for at least another 2 months or more.

Mark, you are right. But not only on the dealer side, SE have to seek approval from IDA first before launching. So from what my opinion is, the phone will come in earlier, send in for testing, upon approval, they will hold a meeting with the network providers, gave them the selling price and let them do their own marketing.

orang3-> SE had replied to me on your discoouration issue. They want to know the discolouration is it at certain area, or going to certain menu? Maybe could you use a digi camera to show them the discolouration if possible?

either you love it or hate it Posted by orang3
hmm. i may be going down tomorrow .. can i show them ? there .. could you inform them ..i will be goin to the goldhill branch ? it is only discolouration when you use the solid colours .. if it is a pic or with many colours you cant see it .
Posted by MarkOng
Well, with that said and done, I think SE is really making a mess of things. First, they screwed up the T68m with an early release but many bugs. Then, they delay the eagerly awaited P800 when the market now is hotting up with even more phones from Nokia, Samsung, Phillips and Motorolla. I'm not saying that they should release an earlier but buggy P800. They should just buck up. I think SE is being very complacent. People are going to get impatient and I suspect it has lost many potential P800 buyers to the earlier released 7650. Save those guys who are loaded and can just afford to buy anything new that's on the market. And if that's the case, Ericsson is going to pull out for sure cos of all their models lined up, P800 shows the most promise. And I'm sorry to say that without Sony, I don't think that they could have that much improvements in their phones.

orang3--> Have you tried downloading the test colour palette into your phone? You save the pic as a normal bg image but it looks like the 256 colour table. Your should be able to tell from there. I'll post again when I can find the link.
Posted by MarkOng
Here's the colour test table. Save the image and transfer to your phone, as with normal pics. You can see if your phone's colour matches the on here.
Posted by orang3
errm i cant see the colour plate ?? hmm ... regarding the sw .. i think the panasonic 1 is the best .. nv had prob at all .. i may go back to them .. if their GD 89 comes with the bt and ir ...

wah.. i'm damn irritated with the stupid kallang pudding SC, sent my phone in on friday morning to fix keypad cuz its not sensitive and joystick cuz it keeps gettin stuck at one position and you know how long its taken? they told me tomorrow noon probably?! still cannot confirm.. wah lau.. this is really inefficient... its not like my set kana drown in water or wat... i should have just gone down to goldhill man... damn inconvenient the past few days with their stupid loaner T28sc... the menu lag is incredible!! wah lau!!!
does anyone know whether the mp3 player for the ericsson is cheaper at the SCs? roughly how much ah?
Posted by MFB
TonyG, just got my T68i upgraded to R5A. My T9 problem has been fixed!
Posted by orang3
it is roughly 150+ at the SC for the Mp3 player .. the best price i can get is ard 140 +
Posted by MarkOng
The colour table is there. If you can't see it then its probably the lousy web host of mine is out of bandwidth.
Posted by orang3
oic.. ok .. i think i know which are you refering to ... i have the template also ... but what has it got to do with my discoloured screen ?
Posted by MarkOng
Just load it into your phone, set your contrast to 0 then match it with your screen. The colours should be exact. I noticed that the calibration for the t68's 256 colour is not very standardized and varies a little form handset to handset.
Posted by orang3
hmm the code menu has limited amt only .. hope they can increase it .
