ANyone has problems sending sms via GPRS when connected to ST GSM1800 (displayed as SingTel)? I am unable to send any sms when the phone is on GSM1800.

For some reason, I'd occasionally get "GPRS: Not Allowed/No subscription/No network" shown when i move my volume button up/down. I'd have to restart my phone everytime this happens

I have a T68m (R2E006) and on ST Classic 100.

orang3 - any news on the t68m grey original housing? thanks.
p/s you received your t68i cover you ordered from sweden?

GUYS! noticed this before?

1) I go into My pictures... I select one picture (xxx)

2) I click on options and click on Picture info

3) I see the size is only 25KB

4) Now I go into Memory Status and click on pictures

5) I select the same pic and it says XXX (176KB)

Now why the heck is my pic of 25KB using 176KB of my phone memory?

care to explain? thanks!

Posted by dairin
hahaha i did it for free ....... lucky
actually waited for the new software but this offer is hard to resist so gone for it 1st

Posted by orang3
yeah i had it for free too... when i was @ uk...

It seems rather quiet here!
Anyway, I want to know if anyone of you are gonna get a P800?

To me, is will be a no unless the service providers here buck up on there services such as cheaper GPRS. (The GPRS here in Singapore is way too ex)

Also, they are still having so many problems with MMS!
How do you expect me to buy such a great phone but not able to unleash its powerS?

Posted by orang3
i may be getting 1.. as what you say .. it is like getting a boxster and place it in your house before you get a class 3

Posted by gilthoniel
uhm.... so any guys can help with my problem? Thanks!

Posted by takkyhide
@gilthoniel

i guess the picture you talking about is an animation .gif if i'm not wrong. What i found out is on the information field of the pic, it will only tell you the size of the 1st frame of the animation. If you check in your memory status, it'll tell you the actual size of the whole animation .gif. The longer duration is your animation, the bigger the size.

And anyone please..i lost my pouch for my MCA-20. Does any of you know where can i get one? I hope i can purchase one from SE SG.

Posted by orang3
hmm you shld get it frm those who lost their MCA 20 .. ... i guess SE does not sell it ... got to go down and ask .. or give them a call to chk it out

Hi there, new here. Just wondering....... is T68i message alert that soft cause i really can't hear the tone when the sms comes in, do you guys experience the same thing????

Posted by loonee
not really... i can hear it well, maybe you should try a hearing aid hehee

Posted by orang3
tht is a good idea .. y not all t68i come with one ?? you all shld suggest to

Posted by gilthoniel
Thanks takkyhide but there's still a problem!!

I have a pic (still bkgrd pic) which in the info states that it's only 2kb in size. But in the memory status it states 5kb.... it's a still pic so how come? hope you can help me!

basket... animated pic from 25kb (on my comp it's also 25kb...) can be blown to 176kb.... it's the aquarium pic i got from orang3's pbase gallery... hehe... so orang3 can u check it out and see if your phone has the same problem? thanks!

Posted by orang3
i know of this prob but there is noting i can do . maybe it is te format of the HP is diff frm the nomal mem ??

Posted by MarkOng
Not sure if this is true, but I've read somewhere that the t68 uses memory some sort like RAM to load a still pic as a bg or animate it as a screensaver. Therefore, your pic or screensaver may be say, 25kb in size, but the total memory required to remove the old pic, transfer it back to my pictures, retrieve the new one selected and load it again as your new bg pic or screensaver takes extra memory to process. This is the total memory reflected in the options screen. I was wondering why i still had a little memory in my phone but yet can't seem to load certain themes (insuffecient memory) into the phone.

Sounds logical to a point. Again, I can't actually verify this. What do you guys think?

Posted by dairin
MarkOng->that makes sense but still nobody knows the real answer except those in SE
or another possibilty is the calculation screw up as u know the batt indicator also not so accurate rite ......

one more thing: after upgrade to R2E, anyone notice that the trasition from menu page to normal page when u press 'No' is a bit slow

Posted by MarkOng
One really irritating slow down is the "yes" to answer a call. Sometimes, the lag is so much, I can't tell whether I picked up the call or not. I always ending up putting the call on hold cos I pressed the yes button twiced.

Posted by orang3
yes .. i agree with mark .. the whole hp is slowing down .. tremendously ..

Posted by orang3
any 1 know of any place tht sell MCa 20 and HBH 30 at a cheap rate in singapore ? as the MCA 20 is totally out of stock .. or you 1 2 sell your Mca 20 pls pm me ..

TonyG> can you please ask your frens at SE whether if there's any manufacturing defect on my phone is it under warranty?

this is because my phone has a few deformities and problems :-

1) the keypad has some funny raised dots on numbers 1 and on the No button. And all the keys are squeeky!! My fren's T68i isn't squeeky!

2) the battery can't fit properly so i end up pressing it so often (while typing SMS) and it affects the screen (something like u press on the screen and there are some colour changes) - i tried my fren's t68i and his battery fits like a gem and when i used my battery on his it also fits nicely so it must be my phone which has some kind of manufacturing defect that is not fitting my batt properly

3) the sides are not aligned so i can see the housing jutting out on one side.

4) I noticed the 2 Leds of the keypad on the left side are greenish blue whereas the 2 on the right are bright blue (wat the heck???)

5) the screen on my phone has some discolouration (like blue appearing whitish on certain parts and black appearing brown)

I can't change this with any dealer coz i got this phone from the Cashline offer. So the only way is to go to the SESC which I'll be doing soon coz i'm from malaysia and I can't just come down to Singapore anytime. I got this phone about 1 month plus ago.

So Tony, can u please ask your frens at SE about this matter? Ask them if I can have my phone replaced IF the problems can't be fixed. It really bugs me to get a phone which has all these deformities and I paid good money for it. A thing to note is that all these problems have been like that ever since i got the phone and definitely not caused by me. Thanks!

the answer is yeah the batt is not fully charged when u bought it but still enough for u to power on n use it for sometime before it dry out

Posted by orang3
gilthoniel---> the cover is not aline properly .. as they might have screw the cover too tight ... the colour of the key pad will varie ... as they only use 4 led .. not the usual 6 like nokia ... tht is y the keypad colour will diff a bit .. and the top yes/no button is white if i am not wrong .. so there wil be abit of discolouration as for the others sorry i cant help ..

Posted by orang3
dairin--> thks for the reply ..

Posted by orang3
one more thing ... you all think i shld go for the orginal charger ?? or the 3rd party 1 ... i am tempted to get the 3rd party 1 as they have dual batt charger ... as for the orginal 1 only can charge 1 hand set ... and i have got 2 batt ..so what do you all suggest ?

Posted by gilthoniel
No no, the discolouration is on the screen. As in if my screen is black in colour, then there will be patches of brown in certain places.

And then the Led, i know there r only 4. The thing is,i've checked it (by tilting my keys abit) n i can c dat the leds are of a diff colour! One side is bright blue, another is greenish blue. I looked at the Led itself. I din open my phone, i just tilted the keys a little so i can peek into the phone.

Hope that clears things up abit.

So are all these under warranty?

Posted by orang3
yes.. of course .. if you can prove to the tech tht there is such a prob .. they will look in to the matter ..

Posted by orang3
any kind soul can you pls send me the orginal MMS in preset 1 ?? i just got my t68i mineral gray .. and there is no shit in there .. so thks in adv .. and my no. is 90071606

Posted by orang3
one more thing is tht....how can you you del the enter address in the wap service ? is it possibel ...

Posted by MarkOng
You can't erase the addresses. Only way is to key in more addresses until the old ones are gone. Max of 10 addresses at a time I think. So if you've been surfing porn, your girlfriend would know!
