@ex_crusader - I seriously respect your choices. Yeah, I would rather see GMA win rather than FPJ. But not "GAY" - Lacson !!! Not even in my wildest dreams, I would rather see FPJ wins rather that evil-souled man. If he wins, our country will be considered like Colombia, a narco-state, and the system will turn to be a narco-politics. Lacson is a very clever man, clever in a deep-souled devlish way. He managed to kill (using his small army) almost all of his enemies in life, there was a story that he also killed a lady thrown out of the chopper down to Manila Bay - and that was true !!! Tsk, tsk, tsk . . . But I am very sure that if he ever wins, he will not last a week in his position, he will also be thrown out just like his 'old' boss and master - ERAP !!! How ? How do you define revolution? If a 'revolution' is a prerequisite of 'change' then Edsa ll has failed for the simple reason that nothing has changed in our country. All the promises that they, the usurpers of a duly elected president, were never fulfilled. Corruption, cronyism and nepotism abounds, peace and order is at it's worse!
The people who were at 'EDSA ll' hardly represented the majority of the Filipino people based solely on their numbers! Less than 30 thousand rallying crowd? Our population is 82 million!
I'm not an Erap supporter, but a strong advocate of the 'rule of law'.
Anyway, just voicing my opinion.

@juliana_p - Why close the discussion ??? This will be a very interesting one, I just hope that this will run till June 30th 2004, when the Comelec has finally revealed the identity of the winners. Each post will and must be highly respected by all the members concern, though in some instances, where a person who has a small and even vast knowledge of facts re: the candidates can divulge 'here' their stories . . . Though I know for a fact that there are only and only "3" things in this earth that people would really not agree about (when discussing), and they are as follows: religion, politics and food !

@* no matter whom we vote for its either GMA thru massive cheating or FPJ thru sheer popularity. FPJ doesn't even hve 2 open his mouth till election day. Heck even the rebels frm diff factions wants him in power. So if GMA wants 2 win either oplan NO-EL succeeds or money will flood the nat board of cnvassers.

i dont believe that GMA is a cheater, you aint have any proof to say that, all are speculations, politicking... if there's someone that's gonna cheat, that'd probably be lacson,( though, for me, he's a 'Ok'). roco hasn't proved anything yet, i also doubt his ability to lead and govern, he was my bet last '98 election, but i heard so much negatives when he was seated as dep ed sec, if i can remember it right, he resigned from dep ed because, maybe he couldn't make a stand to change the department, what he did was he escaped... same thing applies to the politicians that changed their parties, if they don't like their previous parties' platforms, they should have tried to change them, pinaglaban sana nila 'ika nga'... kung doon palang hindi na nila kayang ipaglaban ang plataporma nila, pano pa sa bupng bayan? tatakasan na lang nila ang problema just like what they did to their previous parties?
nonetheless... whoever you vote, it's your right to choose. i respect your choice. pero wag naman sana tayong makisama sa dayaan, if we think na talamak na yung dayaan, bakit makikigulo pa tayo? why dont we start to change that fact? kaya lalong walang mangyari sa pilipinas, we always intend to go with the flow, we always get in the bandwagon, mali man o tama. and that's our downfall, we dont think anymore, we lose hope na sa near future mababago din natin ang lahat.
one more thing, let's listen/watch news.. read newspapers, be aware, gloria did so many good things in just few years of governance, magagaling ang nasa cabinet nya, like former VRB chair bong revilla, MMDA chair bayani fernando, DOH sec. manuel dayrit at iba pa.. how about the SRNH (strong republic nautical highway?) the linking of railway transits? ang mga pabahay, increase ng sahod ng militar, ang pag resolba sa mga krisis, ang pagpapaganda ng NLEx (north luzon expressway) at marami pang iba.. let's look at the good side, she never even corrupted. all she needed was support from "US" (tayo/sa atin)!
however, kung sino man ang manalo.... parang awa nyo nah, suportahan natin!!! kahit si FPJ man yan... sana wala nang rally rally or 4th people power.. nawawalan tuloy ng sense ang EDSA One. tulungan na lang natin ang gobyerno... para sa atin to!!!

@manfran - I really appreciate you asking me some very interesting 'Qs' re : Panfilo Lacson, but I would rather keep mum about my should be lengthy reply. Yes, majority of our politicians are all but the same, but as they, better choose the lesser evil. The simple fact of running in a public office is a a very questionable one too. How much are they only earning, how come after a 3 or 6 years of stay in office they automatically owns large parcel of lands, very lavishly decorated mansions and top of the line luxury cars - just where the hell did they get ALL those money ???????????????????????. Well, I know that this thread will be a very 'fiery' one. Let's just respect each other's opinions folks ! Vote Wisely this coming May 10th, 2004 - because it's my 35th Birthday . . . Well, all of the candidates, as far as I know, have skeleton in their closets. I work for a highly political newspaper and have seen investigative reports on most of the candidates. Men, they're all the same!!! From Roco to GMA to Pamatong to Lacson. Some of the issues thrown against them were a bit exagerated. Alam nyo naman ang politics. Pero may issues din that are quite interesting to look into.
It's just a matter of picking 'the lesser evil', someone who we feel will make a big difference and can improve our present situation. Lahat naman yang mga yan are also driven or motivated by good intentions. Pero, ang tanong e who among them possess the right character and mind that can make that big change?

@crowing - My apologies here for having not completely 'wrote' "CYNTHIA" aguilar's full name. Her hubby Nene, just made a 'tremendous' change-impact in our municipality during his 12 years of stay as the city mayor. The very 'least' that he has done was to get rid of our garbage thoroughly, the truck makes a route at least once a week (can you just imagine how clean our city is), that's why it is also voted as the 'greenest' city last 2001 or 2002 (not quite sure here). Rumors have it that nene's wife-cynthia (congresswoman now) will run to succeed her hubby's position - am very sure here that she's already the winner. In the entire history of our city, only the aguilar's - nene in particular, changed the way we see/perception where the taxpayer's money really goes !

one thing i like about lacson is that he has the capability, just like marcos. well during the marcos era, according to my dad.. the country is so safe. philippines is one of the wealthiest among asian countries. well, so he is corrupt, so what?? i mean everyone that want to be in politics just want one thing..... money that is. i would really like to have a president like marcos, mahatir from malaysia.. and i really think that the best bet is LACSON! well as for GMA, id like her to win 'coz i really believe that she has done quite a good job,. but its still not enough.. give her another 6 yrs to finish all her projects! maybe she could make our country prosperous. for the VPs id only choose LOREN! Noli de Castro for one, cant speak decent english. what if the president has to go on leave or something? what would happen to the country if that guy cant even speak english?! and another thing, he doesnt know anything about the law.. he's a newsanchor or what ever.. for christsake.... he might win because he has been part of the media for quite a long time. i think people that might vote this guy, those that are part of the uneducated part of the country! the same goes to FPJ.. why dont he just continue making movies. he is full of crap!!! damn it! if that guy wins.. i would most definitely get out of this country! the whole government is being run by damn actors! why dont they just concentrate on their field! make better movies! damn it!!!! im really maaaad!!

Mga Kababayan, this is a true and honest appeal to all of you. We all know that nobody in his right mind would like to have FPJ for president and run our country like hell, and nobody wants Lacson the killer taking care of us. And yes, Roco can not win.
My advise and my appeal to everyone and please advise your friends as well is to vote for the lesser evil, hence, go for GMA. I know that she is not the best and personally I do not like her either, but I think most of you will agree that we would rather have the lesser evil, than the devil himself in the persons of: Lacson the killer, and FPJ the Erap clone. No choice talaga tayo, eh

FPJ may "not get a single vote from the educated men of RP" but he doesn't have any need for them. the votes from his mass base could be enough to get him the presidency.
it's gonna be a close fight between GMA and FPJ this coming elections. I have personally met and talked to persons who I thought would vote for him (mainly taxi drivers and street vendors) and I am surprised that some of them tell me that they like FPJ as an actor, and agree that he's popular but they believe that it's not enough to vote for him this May.

yeah, FPJ doesnt need the educated people for him to win... and FPJ doesnt need the support of the business community to win... lets face the fact that the majority of our people are the 3rd class....
and yes it will be a close fight between FPJ and GMA..... my bet was roco... hes a good person and he passed so many laws when he is still a senator and made a good impression with the public school teachers...... but then again, he doesnt have the machine to win... so rather than voting roco whom we know that he wont win and leave GMA one less vote for FPJ... i would say... all roco supporters... we all know that hes a good man and he will be a good president but lets face the fact that he cant win so lets route for GMA!!! or FPJ will win and run the country
