It'll be smashing if it's included in the free minutes. We can use them to bypass cheap international calls from the likes like just-dial

@vampire - You hit the nail right on the head

Absolutely right...thats what i wanna do

But im confused and i dont have in writing which calls are included in my talktime.

I'm sure everyone is actually! I bet even 02 nor the shop where you sign up can't be certain on this issue.

Btw, I just checked CPW catalogue where the small prints only stated that O2 's free minutes includes 0345 (???), 0800, 0845 and another good news is that on tariff above O2 200, unused minutes will be rool over for three months which is very handy and will not go to waste.

@pachy...if you're here! Can you please have your say?

I know for certain that i do not get charged for calling a 0870 number. My bank has that begining for one of its services. I have never been charged. I used a contract sim from both o2 online and o2 high street. Also the 0800 numbers are included in the inclusive minutes. My bank also uses that number. Hope this is some help to you. Also if you are not sure why not make a call and then sign up to www.accountmanagement.o2.co.uk to check your bill. A few days later you charges will appear telling you.

Thanks o44wen...

@Anuj
I just contacted 02 and the lady said 0800, 0845 and 0870 is included but the call to the 02 customer service will be charged.
@Owen
I registered for the account management on sunday but haven't got any emails from them so far and can't login as well when I give my mobie number and the password it just comes with another page which says the number don't exist on the system. Did you get any emails from them? Do you sign in with the mobile number or the account number in that case where can I find the account number.

@anish - Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i been calling em from the 400 mins

I was told all three times that my call to them on the 02 customer services numebr 0870 would be included!!

man these 02 guys are mad...in fact 99 % of mobile phone companies telephone staff dont know what the hell they are talking about!! arghh im peed !

I agree that the CS people don't know a thing. I was also a bit annoyed since I tried to call them yesterday and waited for 34 minutes on my 400 mintues line. But in this case she may be right coz I tried to call the 02 online account management help line and it said on the website its a premium number, 50 p per minute, can you belive it!

If you buy an o2 tariff through an o2 shop, then i'm fairly sure that non geographical (0845 ETC) & 0800 numbers ARE NOT included in your inclusive minutes.SO YOU PAY FOR THEM.

BUT,

If you buy the EXACT same tariff on o2 from Carphone warehouse store, you will get these numbers INCLUDED in your minutes because they use a different billing company, CPW also dont have a minimum charge per call, whereas o2 shops do.

BUT as this is such a differing thing, you must find it written down to be sure, in November issue of CPW brochure it is at the very bottom of page 47 under the o2 tariff charges, it clearly states that 0345,0800 & 0845 numbers are included in your minutes.
------------
While i am here, i will point out that on all Orange contracts 0800's are free all the time (i use Orange purely for this reason so i can use cheap calling card codes for calling UK & abroad) i did notice though that Orange yp plans dont include non geographical numbers in the inclusive minutes.

To make it even more confusing its possible to buy a o2 matched tariiff (OVP) on Orange network through CPW, 0800's WILL NOT be free on this but may be included in inclusive minutes but i would ring all the numbers & check your bill, as it would all be itemised on Orange bill.

Actually, I was told that 0845 numbers were included in your free mins when I bought my phone from an o2 shop last week.

I said "Fairly sure" becuse they were not included when i had a contract a year ago, but maybe they have changed it now,i certainly moaned about it to them, but if your sure they are included now then thats something possitive.

Been with O2 for 3 years now, and can tell you that if you bought your P900 from an O2 High Street store your serivice provider is based in Preston Brook, Runcorn, Cheshire.

Calls to national & local-rate, non-geographic numbers are taken from your inclusive minutes allowance. As are calls to 0800 and 0500, (taken from inclusive minutes).

I'm not sure but I think 0871 numbers are what are known as, 'personal numbers' and are charged at a premium rate.

Does anyone know if 0844 numbers are free on 02's allowance aswell??? I have found a service like just dial (international phones) but they use 0844 not 0845???

Hi guys,
Just my input to this.

I was on the O2 400 tariff, and on this tariff I can definitely say that :

0800, 0870, 0844 and 0845 numbers ARE included in the free minutes - this is because I used my free minutes to call these numbers! (As someone mentioned above, for international calling numbers like Just Dial). Note that 0871 are NOT included though.

I have downgraded this month to O2 Leisure 500, and on this tariff I am not sure yet. I have made calls to these numbers, and I assume they should work the same, but I will confirm when I get my bill at the end of the month!
