My N-Gage review:

Pros

+Excellent, bright and clear screen (people really should try it and not just look at the numbers 4096)
+FM radio and MP3 player. So useful. Can even use the loudspeaker.
+loud polyphonic ringtones (they sound good too) and ability to use WAV/MP3 ringtones
+Java and Symbian games (Flo Boarding is great - and free btw. Once I get my 256MB MMC I no longer have to worry about changing memory cards because I can store everything i need on just one)
+Applications manager and the inbuilt Java installer
+Symbian OS 3rd party applications: instant messengers, internet browsers, teletext viewers, keyguards, GB emulators etc
+USB cable, so easy to install stuff on the phone
+Series 60 is so awesomely good an UI
+good looks IMO
+PRICE. Can't find all this stuff for so low price in any other phone
+Excellent earpiece voice quality
+loudspeaker is very loud
+build quality: solid, no creeking
+inbox stuff: stereo headset, pc suite, audio manager, Nokia Game (Flo Boarding), Space Impact Evolution X, USB cable, adapter cable, 32MB MMC

Cons

-battery life: you just wanna play with the phone all the time and the battery runs out
-internal memory only 4MB, you end up keeping the most useful applications on it (so you don't lose them when changing the MMC), but there are so many so useful applications!

you forgot one thing.... no offence.. but STUPID TACO phone...

but it is a neat gaming/phone device

Posted by mmsman
nice phone with features better than 7650, but........ it looks like a cheap gameboy!!!

Posted by Flying Finn
Nearly everybody has a mobile phone in Finland, nobody cares how you hold yours. So that doesn't bother me. Besides the sound quality is so good. In case you're narrow minded it's possible to hold it like a normal phone too.

About its looks... like people keep saying in the "P900 is ugly" thread, it's a matter of opinion. I love it. The keypad backlight is orange which combined with the bright screen and red / green answer buttons looks great, especially in the dark (IMO).

Well m8, if you like it just sit back and enjoy.

Posted by mmsman
well yeah everbody has a different taste....it's a great phone though.....

the only thing that really bothers me with these new nokias is the mmc placement and i hope it is going to be fixed in the new comm

Posted by MasterMilenko
Excuse me for not being informed but i'm rather interested in how do you talk on that phone?

Posted by dazbradbury

Just my opinion...

Posted by Dj Boyi
Why not just buy a gameboy and this add-on when it comes out.
The little attachment on the top of it turns the GB into a phone

And the n-gage demo model in our local games shop looked liked it had a really dull screen(i had a quick go of tomb raider),also the guy in the shop said he was told they have problems with the n-gage.

Edit;i shudda said that the phone is only for standard connections, but you guys have more than 1 phone most of the time anyway And if you already have a GB

I can do a lot more with the N-Gage. Besides that GBA with the addon thingy looks just daft. And the games don't look as good. And it don't play MP3's or have an XHTML browser etc. To me, N-Gage just suits better than any combination of other devices that includes GBA. I would never buy GBA simply for gaming.

Posted by grex
@dazbradbury you are one good looking guy! and the n-gage? yeah, spend forty quid on ps1 quality games...? nice waste of money there!

Posted by obsixx
Quick question flying finn, if you wouldn't buy a gba souly for gaming what would you buy it for? It doesn't do anything else.;-)

Posted by dazbradbury
lol, this thread has too many pictures of me, it's making me sick!

Plus, what were all the brown spots about? bit of a poor effort if you ask me. But saying that, your only going to make a worse one now....

I'll say cheers to that! I agree, nothing wrong with being good looking (it's damn obvious that you are ) and knowing it! Also good to see that you like SE too!

@finn what about gprs, mms, wap capabilities?

@Flying Finn

Could you please post a pic of you using the NGage as a phone. Is it true that it looks like you are talking through a taco?

When I buy a phone, I'd like to use all the features. I want to be able to make a call without having to plug a headset first.

Aw look- dazbradbury went and did himself up for a photo, but then he has that blue hemorrhoid hanging off his ear!
And you pick on the N-gage? What the hells wrong with you? The N-gage is unreal!!

Good Job SE Indonesia for showing the real photo!
Hows that beautiful 6600 going? I'm getting one ASAP!!

I'm getting sick of these SE users Finn!!

Posted by Super G
@sony_eric: It has all these, of course. It also has bluetooth, audio input (you can plug eg CD player and record), etc.

The games may be but the N-Gage isn't a waste of money. You get all of 3650's features minus the camera and IrDa plus an MP3 player and FM radio for half the price. Where's the waste of money there? And sure, you can play N-Gage games on 6600 but you must pay more than twice the N-Gage's price to get the 6600. And the keypad causes problems.

That was to say I didn't buy the N-Gage souly for gaming. I wanted its other features too which I can't get with GBA.

Excellent. All are easy to set up and fast. The screen really does justice to Internet/WAP browsing, the WAP shortcut key is nice too and MMS even supports video attachments. Couldn't be better, really.

Taco isn't a part of the Finnish food culture so I wouldn't know (we haven't been that Americanised yet - thank God). Personally I don't care how it looks, it's the (excellent) voice quality that's more important to me.

About those funny pictures.. with those looks on their faces I think it's irrelevant what they hold on their ears. And the pics were they have PS2's, monitors etc...they would be equally funny no matter how they held them, sidetalking, toptalking or whatever. Comparing talking on the N-Gage to talking on an Xbox or whatever is like saying "when I hold this Xbox on my ear this way, it looks sensible, but when I hold it this way, it looks funny as hell". Oh well.

I consider the N-Gage a good phone and an excellent smartphone (all the applications, connectivity, etc). Dazbizbong, would those guys look less funny if they had a P900 on their ear? I don't think so.

lol, well this is turning into an interesting discussion, I actually submitted that photo for sidetalkin.com, I thought it would be funny to be honest, I hardly made myself look nice, I have a beard! I'm sure you can think of some better personal attacks.

and here is a photo of a kool n-gage user...

That anyone on here?!

or maybe ??

Sorry but I dont consider the n-gage a serious phone, nor do i consider it a serious gaming device. But again, that's just my opinion.

How can you not think it is a serious phone?
I think you need to look up phone in the dictionary.

I think Nokia were serious when they made it. It is indeed a phone.

PLUS it plays cool games too.

well, I am seriously thinking to buy a n-gage....

I have a t68i too, but I just love gaming. so besides my ps2, nin64, gb an pc, I want that phone!!!!

thanks for the visualised revieuws!!! lol
:) :)

robbie
