Does anyone know about this new bt headset - HBH-200?

I am thinking of getting a bluetooh headset, its gonna be my 1st ever bt headset and dont want any disappointment on the bluetooth product.

This one has the caller ID display on the unit n seems pretty cool, please give me some comment on getting my 1st bluetooth headset, thanks!

cant wait for my Z600 to get here tomorrow! hehe

I know i am going to buy it when it becomes available. I think it is probably the best BT headset available simply because it is small, it has it's own ringer (choice of 4 tones), great battery life, caller id display, and it can display the call list from your phone. not to mention, it doesn't look ugly to wear in public like hbh-60/65/30/35. my friend has the hbh-35 and it is really good, just to big for me. an earphone is less obvious and more comfortable.

so i'd say go for it, I am going to!!! it should retail for less than $150.

thx for the comment, its already for sale now on a website in US, cost is around 150.00 US$

not a bad price at all I think, but the only thing I worry about is that the quality of the Earpiece, I have bought one of the headset (wire) and the quality is real bad... I hope they concern more about the quality and material they will use on the new hbh-200

whats the point of having a bluetooth headset if it still has wires ???

Posted by masseur
My thoughts exactly but the previous model, the HBH-20, did appeal to many people and expansys still stock and sell them for only £31.71.

I've got an HBH 30, had it for about a year, no problems. Even use it with my PC

Posted by lazarini
Had the 20 and i prefere it to 60 will get the 200 looks nice and the more conservative aproach witg the wire suits me just fine :)

I gotta say, I had my reservations about bluetooth headsets. It just seemed a bit weird to use a wireless interface to a wireless device . Now that I got a HBH-60, I am extremely satisfied with it. It gives a certain freedom from the phone...

The only problem I see with HBH-200 is what to do with the wire when you are not using it. It can't just be dangling there..., but then, it's the same with all other BT headsets, you still have to carry both the phone and the headset... Wouldn't it be nice with a class 1 (100m) phone & headset?

Anyhow, I am considering getting HBH-200, just to try it out, see how it performs as compaired to HBH-60. I like it's design, the fact that you can see the incoming number, and the fact that it has it's own ringer..., besides, one can never have too many bluetooth headsets , they work fantastic with the bluetooth enabled PCs as well!

P.S
Tonight I am going to try networking/internet sharing over bluetooth...

I have been using my HBH-20 for over 2,5 years now and I'm extremely satisfied with it. The only thing I don't really like is that the Yes and No buttons are on the unit instead of on the microphone. I sometimes hit No instead of the Yes by accident. I was glad that this problem has been solved with the HBH-200. I will propably get one to replace my HBH-20.

just in case ... have you seen the hbh-65 , perhaps its what you're looking for in a bluetooth headset !

Posted by ommadawn
i'm plenty satisfied with my freedom of wires, and the end of lausy understanding in loud places, achieved with the great HBH-60...

and guys guys guys! (i never get tired of saying this): wires mean 3 times more SAR in your brain!!, not to mention that it is entering just right into your ear...

i like the idea of the hbh-200 but i think it misses something, thats why i'm gonna buy the hbh-20. i like my hbh-30 but for some occasions i want to wear something smaller, hbh-65 is cool 2. but i just love the hbh-20 and its cheaper 2.
for me a wireless wire is good enough

Is it possible to use voice dialling with the headset. Just want to confirm before i buy one. Anyone tried voice dialling with the Nokia handsets?? Dont kill me!

Posted by Sir-SonyEricsson-man
it works fine with voice dialing

does the caller display work with a p900?

Posted by Sir-SonyEricsson-man
jepps... it should do that..

Actually I am not so sure about the P900. It has problems with the P800 as that phone only supports the headset and not handsfree profile. I am unsure if this just stops the call lists from working or the caller ID too...

Is there anyone who has actually tried with a P900?

Jonathan

Posted by JonStatt
Hi,

I had the chance to test this. I can confirm that with the P900, there is NO caller ID, and NO call lists.

This will not work with headset profile in the P900.

Disappointing review below claims that volume level is disappointing. Any otherr opinions on this with "more compatible" phones?

I also would like to know if it's possible to answer a call using the button on the mic instead of the button on the main unit (like I have to do now with my HBH-20)?

Sounds like he tested the headset using the P800. I thought that it doesn't work with the P800? He should've tried using different phones to test the headset...

@ lustral: thx for the pics! maybe 1 more pic with something beside it so we can get a size perspective. looks nice

Just got my HBH-200 today!
Nice thing I must say!

I miss one thing though...

On a normal (wired HF) you have this thing where you can "park" the ear phone/mic. I wanted one on my HBH-200 as well. So, I "killed" a normal HF_unit and re-attached the thing on the cable. Works perfect.

DON'T CUT THE WIRE FROM THE NORMAL HF!!!
You just need to pull it a part. This is done quit easy. There are no springs or something inside.

Currently I don't have any pictures on it, but I reckon you understand what I mean.

One thing they missed is that you can't use the included strap and clip at the same time. So if you go for using the clip (at the backside to attach to your clothes) you can't use the strap and vice versa.

/Fred

PS The size of the main unit is about a normal BIC-lighter.

@Lustral

Nice pics. Now I know what I'm getting for my next BT headset.

Thanks!

Well here is another picture with the Z600 and the carrying pouch.

Also in my opinion the volume of the ear piece is bloody loud. I have it on the lowest setting and it is still loud.

Hi all, I'm very interested in HBH-200...

I know both of my phone (t68i and 3650) has "Bluetooth Handsfree Profile" Support, will it have full function with the HBH-200. Namely, will the call-id, caller-list work with them?

Thanks

Hm...wired hands free...that is wireless? What? The concept is nice, but the only thing keeping me from wanting it is battery life. What's the battery life for typical use? 1 day? unacceptable for me. I returned my bt200 because I could only go 2 days before needing to charge it. The convenience of the hbh-200 comes at a cost of another inconvenience. BLEH!

I don't get this thing at all.. it seems to me the purpose of bluetooth is the wireless part.. why on earth do you want a wire????? Where does one put the little box??? seems to me the same thing as a tiny phone attatched to a wire attatched to an earpiece... I don't get it..

Some of us wear glasses so some headset will fit not properly. I will be getting the HBH-200 the idea of seeing the callers number while my handset is not in hand is cool. Most of us can't remember who has what ringtone I can't can you.

Some people also don't like having noticable that they are using an expensive phone. This lets me have the convenience of a BT headset with the social acceptability of a normal headset - also the wire is much much shorter. So no more door handles, sliding in and out of shirt buttons, having to fumble with miles of cable.

For some people who don't want to LOOK like geekas this is one of the best headsets around.

Love this unit. Sound is totally adjustable to my (hard of hearing) limits. But the earpiece does not stay very well in my ear. Are there any adhesives that are conveniently usable to keep it there?

Hi
very tempted by this heaset as I do a LOT of driving. Is it comfortable and does it stay in...or if I use it in the office and walk about will it fall out. I want to use it with z600...is volume good in a car?
Many thanks
Jackie

well, i have used the hbh-20 and the hbh-15, and i have kept the hbh-20 and have used it for more than a year now. I have to admit that a BT headset stuck on your ear is really sometimes too geeky, though im a geek and i do not mind looking like a geek and i certainly don't mind being looked at like a character from star wars or star trek, but i do mind having a BT stuck on my ear... i know that the PERFECT BT HEADSET will be the one that has the form factor of the HBH-60 with the LCD screen of the HBH-200 and with loud polyphonic ringtones, that can be cliped on clothes and with a belt-case, and I know that this one will come from SE... maybe the HBH-600, maybe we can petition sony to start making one NOW or give them a prototype design,

but I'm buying the HBH-60 tomorrow by the way, coz can't wait anylonger

might even buy the HBH-200, if i can afford another BT

Hmm... I'm a bit dubious about the HBH-200... the idea of a caller display is nice but I'd rather not have the wires and added bits that go with it. Maybe I'll stick with my HBH-30 for now - or perhaps someone could integrate NetMD and bluetooth.... that would be a good solution

Posted by The Programmer
Surely the point of a BT headset is to leave your hands free. If you have to pick up a part of the headset to look who's calling then why not use the phone anyway. It would be much better if phones just spoke the incoming number, through the headset. This is certainly true if you're driving.
As for the wire part of the HBH200. I wouldn't mind betting that this ends up breaking or getting tangled up. I've just got an HBH65 so i'm about to find out how good these BT headsets are.

Posted by Aggamemnon
RE: phones speaking the caller's name.... I had this working on the ol' T68i. Whenever I was called by someone who had a voice tag, it played back the voice tag as it rang. I could then answer or reject by saying "answer" or "reject" (my versions were ruder )

Posted by Jeffrey

Still having problems keeping the earpiece in place! Has anyone tried (would it be possible?) to splice one of the in-earbuds onto the cable to replace the standard unit?

Posted by Lainelf
does anyone know how compatible the hbh-200 is with n6600? i headr that the connection does not stay. hows the sound volume with other phones? still have reviews that its too soft.
