POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol version 3
It's a standart internet format for reading mail

In general you can use any pop3 account to receive your email.
If you are dialing into your ISP the same way you would on your pc then you can also use SMTP server of your ISP to send email. If you are using GPRS you must use the SMTP server of t-mobile to send your emails.
