I went in the carphonewarehouse today in liverpool and noticed that that the t68i is in the new brochure. At the bottom it says "T68 users can upgrade their phone to the T68i software in may" After reading this i went to speak to a fella behind the counter. He told me, and showed me info on the computer. This was : -
(1)
All the larger carphonewarehouse stores will be getting the equipment to perform the software update for free, in may,
(2)
If you bought your T68 from the carphone warehouse, you can swap it for the 68i if you pay the price difference which is 120 quid sim free, and as long as the phone is under warrenty.
(3)
The new software is identical to the T68i software, so all the talk that the 68i has more memory is crap.
I read all this in the carphonewarehouse store in liverpool, so go in to your nearest store and ask, but its not till may, and there getting the nokia 7210 in, in August which basicly takes the piss out of the T68.

I can say that I think the 7210 suck, but I have no real facts to build the statement! Only that I need bluetooth, and the 7210 doesn't have it! So for me it sucks!

Don't you think it will be possible to change the form of the keys on the 7210 with a more conservative replacement cover?
I don't think even Nokia thinks that everyone want to run around with a phone that looks like it was bought at the supermarket toys department (Hmm... N.8310 Hmm... forget what I said, they think the customers only want toys I guess

the public seemed to have been blinded by nokia, for some odd reason, most people think that Nokia is the best. They [Nokia] aims mainly at young people, and most young people just like the fone cuz of the weird designs.. (i think most of Nokias new designs are crap) but something as ugly as the 7210 will probably still get quite alot of response most likely from users previously operating on a nokia..
so we can't tell whether or not the 7210 will sell more than the T68i because people will just buy it thinkin "oooh new fone, i must get it!" instead of "that fone is ergonomically impossible". They haven't tried the T68i yet to realise that the T68i outweighs the 7210 (or any other Nokia) with it's functions and aesthetic design.
so we musn't blame the current nokia users on their choice of cellulars because they just haven't been able to expose themself to an Ericsson.. so they actually do not know that the T68/T68i is way better!
(i've just realised now that i'm startin to waffle alot on the forum.. so many of my messages are sooo long yet i don't seem to get to the point!! grrr..

yup.. but nokia people keep on saying the menu is friendlier... just like my gf... she keep saying my T68 is hard to use... I just dont know what they are thinking...
actually I dont want so many people using the T68... it makes me feel more special... and I can always laugh at the people who buys a 8310, etc... Do they have any brains on how to choose stuff!?!?

well.. ok.. maybe the interface is easier (more user friendly) but that means they have simple minds and so they can't operate Ericsson menus like we do!!

I have been testing both the nokia 7210 and ericsson p800 and of course the t68i. Ericsson kicks ass! The p800 wipes out the 7210. But I guess you already had thought that out :)

Oh I'm sure 7210 will sell much much more than T68i... Because it will be available more widely (own guess, but SE's always had big logistics problems), it's less boring looking than the T68(i) and it kicks T68(i)'s big fat ass
Besides the top selling argument for T68 has been the color screen... not bluetooth don't forget that
But bear in mind that these are high-end phones, so the volumes are still much lower than low-end phones
Now T68i is out, I don't quite like T68 spoon head so much anymore.
This said, T68i looks good
