I ordered it last night from Carphonewarehouse for £29.99 on T-Mobile.

Unfortunately, the handset is branded and locked but otherwise it is fantastic.

The size, features and screen are fantastic and it feels really well made.

If someone reminds me how to post pictures, I'll upload some live pics.

review - please

Looks great - cameraquality seems great compared to SE T610/Z600 - memorypool of 9mb chrushes the SE T610/Z600 measly 2mb. No BT (np - dont need it as long as it has IrDa) No Triband (np - dont need it) - But what about personalisation through themes ?? - this is one of the things I like in the SE T610/Z600.

Posted by triforce
With regards to the themes, you can't set themes as with the T68i/T610, what you can do is change the colour theme and the wallpaper.

The good thing is that yo can use animated wallpapers as opposed to the static ones on the T610.

However, you can remove the operator logo or put it on top or bottom and change the text style.

With regards to the pictures, superluminova will be uploading them for me later on tonight.

THAT is a great feature - something I really think lacks in the T610/Z600 - its so annoying when you try to create a great wallpaper that they have to display the operatorlogo/name in the wallpaper - for the life of me I dont understand why they did not put it in the statusbar in the top - or gave us a choice to not display it at all. I understand that alot of people need it to be able to see when roaming occurs - but give the rest of us the choice to not display it or move it to the statusbar - please SE

I do feel tempted to try it - looking forward to your pictures and hearing more of your experience with it.

i really dislike the animated wallpaper, its really distracting, i think... i'm glad se dosen't have that feature... but thats just me

Posted by TheRealSpawn
I propably would not use animated wallpapers either - but I wouldent mind having the feature because I think the best thing about a feature is the ability to choose if I want to use it or not - instead of having the manufacturer choose for me But thats just me

Got my E700 today on T-Mobile from the link. It was free on the everyone 200 tariff. I have to say they were very good in the link, far better than phones4u were when I got my P800. So far I am very impressed with the phone, only probs so far is when sending contacts from my T68i to the E700. It does not like it if you have a pic in you contacts, the phone resarts its self, so just a warning to anyone who tries this. Other than that the pic quality and the build and features of the phone are top class. As for battery life and so on, I will have to wait and see, as there is only one battery supplied with the phone, whether samsung have got their batteries to last longer or not I will soon find out. Only thing I need is a cable to download pics and stuff, anyone know if the cable is the same as the one used with the T100 as there is a few of these for sale on ebay, genuine samsung ones.

Posted by royalty
i think it will work well at lest thats what every one says but not so sure why dont you use an I/R its quicker coz when ueing cable the phone must be shotdown

Posted by volvoman
For some reason when I use I/r to send stuff, if it includes a picture the phone restarts.

Royalty I think it is because I was transfering my phonebook from my T68i and it had some pics I had attached to some of the numbers, as far as I am aware they are not in a formate it recognises so it resets. Not sure if this is the reason, but if I transfere the numbers individualy they work fine if I have removed the pics.

Can you confirm that when you receive an MMS the phone doesn't show the name of the person (from the phone book) and just the phone number? Does this also apply to SMS's?

Thanks.

Posted by triforce
Sent and received MMS's do not display a name, only the number that you sent it to.

The SMS's do display a name.

Is it possible for somebody to show the comparission between Z600 & i700 ?

Posted by richardadc
Thanks Triforce. Do you know if it's also true that you can't send SMS messages bigger than 160 characters? Seems like they've missed out on a lot of the basic features.

Posted by jac12
Of course you can write long SMS's on the E700.

Posted by triforce
You can only use 160 characters per sms but the E700 does let you send long SMS's of up to 12 pages.

Posted by kenzoden
it really boils down to the individual.

Samsung's E700 has the best cam of the upcoming new releases as the pictures have shown. Everything else is standard fare if you're a regular Samsung user.

S.E.'s Z600 has a better interface (customizable) and sms engine (MPO) but loses out in terms of cam quality.

Both have very good clamshell designs.

Posted by jac12
I think the Z600 is way too thick and heavy.
And it only has 2MB memory....

Posted by kenzoden
true. That is perhaps Z600's biggest flaw (camera aside).

Posted by jac12
Here you can see them side by side:

its a nice fone. Shame I hate it when its open. Its now above the Z600 on my list of nxt fone!!! whats the biggest memory on a fone at the mo? Not including fones with memory cards slots.

Posted by richardadc
Thanks for the info triforce. I've just pre-ordered it on Orange for £190 on PAYG.
