Dont want to sound offensive in any way
- but if you dont know how to resize a picture - you propably should not try to create themes yourself just yet - but instead download some of the themes created by others.
To create themes you need to atleast have a basic knowledge off how to use an imageeditor as well as having acces to the imageeditor itself.
Perhaps you can find ways of getting some education on how to use an imageeditor from a friend or something ?? We cannot teach you this in a forum.

Ok is some one actually gonna give him an aswer instead of giving sarcy answers and posting rubbish pics of crap bands. Right try using acd see 5.0 that has a resizer option built in and u can resize it to the specific size u want and if the picture can't be resized into 128*127 then it will get the nearest size to that, then u can manualy cut of bits of the picture to get it to 128*127. Hope that helps you

I tried in the most dimplomatic way possible to suggest some kind of cource or education in simple imageediting. Its very obvious that the original poster does not have any experience at all in this area.
So telling him to resize and then cutting off pieces here and there till it gets to 128x127 surely is not gonna help at all - If he dont know how to do a simple resize - he most likely dont know how to cut off pieces either.
Besides he has posted no info at all as to if he has an imageeditor at all and if so which imageeditor - and since there are any number of editors and ways to do the job depending on choice of editor - it would help tremendously to know that in order to guide him correctly - if anyone were to run a complete beginners guide in this thread.
He could check out MO's excellent guide http://members.lycos.co.uk/mosedrengen/tutorial/
which requires that he have Photoshop btw

I have done that, I found a perfect picture but it was too large, so I thought maby I just ask here how to get it smaller...
But I found a progrem that make picture smaller!
You can download that progrem from www.downloads.com
and just type in : Adobe Photoshop
Then u get a very good progrem, but it takes 168mg only for the download!

One of the most powerful picture editors out there.

First Photoshop is excellent, used by many many many designers ( web, themes, visualstyles, animations, icons, ... ), that program do allmost everything and that's why it's big and expensive ( around 1200$ yes it's correct 1200 with two 00 ...). First you have to learn how to use it and you do that with "tutorials" .... go to google and check sites with photoshop 7 tutorials.

I recommend you use Paint Shop Pro, its a very good image editing tool, and its free/shareware (especially if you get the old versions like ver 4.12 or 6). Use google to download it.
To resize the pics, start PSP, open the pic, and in the menu, click on the rectangular icon and crop the pic, make sure that the ratio is 1.0 (see at bottom left of status bar). Then in the menu, click on Image - > Resample. Type in 128 and make sure the Maintain Aspects Ratio is checked. If the image is a bit fuzzy, click on Image -> Normal Filters -> Sharpen. Then save.
That'll get you started without having to go through tons of tutorials. You can experiment some more after that.

use photoshop. im not pro designer i buy and use it with the lessons of MO and i made my own themes very well. and the program only cost in my country around 50 us dollars. sorry my english. be patience marcoz dont be agresive
