i can download other themes such as the winxp theme n it works finw, but when i open it in theme editor pro n save it again withough making any changes, i will get that error msg when i try to download it to my t610. anyone got any idea what might be causing this? thanks!

sounds like you are trying to download it from a wap page that has not been configured correctly with the MIME types.

have a read of this for example.

actually i didnt download it off a wap site. i just uploaded it to tripod.lycos.co.uk just like for example http://members.lycos.co.uk/mosedrengen/WinXP.thm i jus entered the full URL of the .thm file and the WinXP.thm downloaded n useable without any errors. i think it is a problem with my theme creator pro software cos i tried opening the WinXP.thm in theme creator pro n then save it again without making any changes, uploaded the WinXP.thm to my lycos folder n tried to download it. it gave me that error. hence this rules out the errors on my part with respect to correct MIME setting or image formats used.

Nope - you do need to add an .htaccess file to the file that holds the theme if you are to download via wap. The T610 (&others) need the mime-type on the server so it knows what file type is being downloaded & where the phone must put it.

eg:

.thm = theme.
.jpg = picture

etc etc

Look on the thread above for further help.

i tried searching "mime types for themes" but couldnt find anything.
couldnt find anything when viewing thru the source at http://members.lycos.co.uk/mosedrengen/ either...

Your search was very bad, because there are few topics with the theme MIME type here on Esato and even on TCPro's forum!

And once again TCPro has nothing to do with this error message...

ok so i guess i need to make set the mime type. but how do i do it? i read most of the threads talkin bout setting the correct mime types n such. but how do i go about to actually doing it? do i jus make a file with notepad n upload it to my lycos folder? could someone guite me by showing a step by step guide in creating the .htaccess file
