globe: cignal problem from my place. although i've some improvised gadgets to boost it a bit. and yes the problem with gprs. why don't they just start charging but unblock the wapsites!

Globe subscribers were very much disappointed when they blocked wap sites and now bumabawi sila by having free text every time you load aside from the monthly freetxt. OK na ba yun mas maganda yata e open din nila wap site. Para maramdaman din natin subscribers ang pagka 3rd placer nila as best network provider in Asia. Hindi BA? Sa sun, pagwala ka under the Sun walang signal, dapat cguro magkaroon ng araw sa loob ng mall. hehehe.

globe sucks. i've tried having my international roaming activated and to find out that it's not. i've been here in los angeles for 3 weeks already and still i keep insisting them that my roaming isn't working but still they keep assuring me that it is. what a waste of money to keep calling me and following up on nothing

You got that right. Globe Sucks big time. I really dont know why we have providers like Globe.
- WAp sites blocked (at least open gateway so we can surf and they can charge) they just blocked it. During the 1st couple of days they even denied it.
- Globe plans suck big time. how many is the biggest free sms plan. NADA...they just give you 500 free txt msgs and they dont even balnace out ur bill if ever u dont consume ur calls..txt are charged ryt away after allotted sms. its suppose to go to cals that u havent consumed. So if ur plan is 1800 and u use only 1600 worth of calls and passed the sms limit ur charged with a peso right away.
- Signal is still bad in some parts of the country
and to top it all off Customer SVC SUCKS
Even their head technician cant make my t610 work with my tungsten t. Went to globe showroom 3x to have it fixed telling me reasons that i shld get a driver for my tungsten. I did but they still werent able to fix it. Then I go to microwarehouse, in just 10 mins they wer able to fix it.
I hope someday we'll have a provider that we can all believe in.
Can't say too much abt the other providers since b4 ive been using Globe but once my contract is finished Ill say BYE BYE

Our telecommunication industry(GSM) here in PH still monopolize by 3 players only. I just hope one day we woke up having other alternatives to choose, who is more competetive in terms of services and charges.

I'm on globe. Simple lang naman ang solution nila eh. Why not charge us na lang per kb then unblock all wap sites....PERO BAT NILA MAGAWA GAWA?!?!?!?

Saan ba kasi pwede mag email ng mga complaints? I dont think yung mga CSR nila ay nagfoforaward pag dating sa WAP issues.

Globe GPRS service is bad... well it's free naman so we can't complain.
I don't know about the non-free GPRS access... did not try it out that much. For me it's still quite costly to do so.
Customer service is bad.
Wala bang complains ang mga smart users?
I get some feed back that they also have poor customer service.

Err... correction lang po no...."MONOPOLIZED by THREE network providers" is wrong. kaya nga MONO e...kasi isa lang, kagaya ng PLDT. MONOpolized nila dati ang telecommunications dito sa pinas kasi isa lang siyang sefvice provider. ngayon hindi na kasi may competitors na siya.
a bit of enlightenment lang po. mistakes like that should be corrected right away sa mga forum na ito...kesa mapahiya in person di ba?

Hmmm, i think having free access is still a novelty for me cause at least i get to access email via yahoo and chat via yahoo messenger.
Of course after getting used to browse lots of other useful sites, its a downer but still its free now anyway. If the other sites are that important that you wouldnt mind charges, then why not get a smart or other sim. Dont get me wrong i totally emphatize w/u. just offering an alternative. At least this is an option. Globe is the only one offering free gprs here - though limited as i said, the accessible sites are ok for me. Regarding Globe CSR - Yeah, MOST that ive encountered are useless to talk to hehehe. There were a handful who i gained respect for though - efficient and understanding.
I think www.myglobe.com.ph has a forum that got flooded right by complaints immediately after the blocking of sites hehehe - not sure of the url but its to that form - either walang ph or meron ata.

more enlightenment!!! kung meron mang nangyayaring 'cartel' that's definitely between globe and smart ONLY.. kawawa naman ang mga SUN subscribers because of that cartel between them.. imagine, globe and smart can already exchange mms, sun is left behind due to this so called cartel.. also, smart and globe tried to stop extelcom in setting up a GSM network and they are successful.. now extelcom is putting up a different but better network, either CDMA2000 or WCDMA...

@* i talked to a globe cs (october to november) inquiring about my account regarding international roaming rates. for some odd reason, my bill went up to 32 k (10k na lang p900 na).
these are rates of their international roaming using cingular and t-mobile:
calls from the phillippines to the u.s. (when in roaming)
$0.80+ cents perminute
+ $0.40 cents per minute (globe's flat rate)
12% administrative charges from globe
= $1.34 gross per minute (P55.25) = P75.03
calls from the u.s. to manila (when in roaming)
$1.49 per minute
+ $0.40 cents per minute (globe's flat rate)
12% administrative charges from globe
= $2.12 gross per minute (P55.25) = P117.13
calls within u.s. (when in roaming)
$0.69 cents per minute
+ $0.40 cents per minute (globe's flat rate)
12% administrative charges from globe
= $1.22 gross per minute (P55.25) = P67.40
text messages received and sent $0.25 cents
no wonder.

Tom, don't forget that when roaming, Globe's administrative fee is constant... but they also have no control over what Cingular or T-Mobile (or whoever) is charging you as well.
In the US, you pay for both incoming and outgoing calls.

i already learned my lesson when i went to hk. talaga lang likas na matigas ang ulo ko. when i was in hk for three days, my bill went to 8k. no calls, just text. then, my last trip, (sanfo) it went up to 32k. stupid me. promise next time, i will never use globe's roaming services again. ever!

globe: CSR (Comfort Sh*t Room) really sucks! No return call. Tried their globe extreme 64k and the first reload 1st week of December...up to now, wala pa akong free ice cream from Nestle(after first reload and call you will be receiving ice cream from Nestle). Ginagawa pa siguro or natunaw na.
Globe has more matured java games than Smart...Tom clancy, splinter cell, etc.
Free gprs with limited access. Paid apn is only good for post paid "daw". Very biased against prepaid subscribers.
Sun: haven't tried it yet i am sure they still have limited coverage since they are still in their infancy stage.
Very tempting Post paid plans with all the free mobile units.
Addict Mobile/Smart: so far so good.Customer Service calls you back about your queries. Just one minor complaint: Press Addict menu > add addictions > new addictions > error in plugged in data.(not applicable to all since I just got the sim card). Their IT group is still addressing my complaint after one month of following it up. With their Switch,my mobile number is okay.
I guess from the previous comments especially for international roaming, wow!!!!heavy pala sa pocket. I have 32 pesos anytime.But with 32,000 pesos, you gotta be kidding!!!!!Now I know that using your international roaming feature is very expensive.
Bottom line, no perfect telco but we just have to choose the best that would really meet and satisfy our lifestyle needs!

grabe sa pagpapabaya! im an AUTOLOADmax retailer. sobra ang globe! ilang beses na ako naka-experience ng mag-o-autoload sa customer tapos ang tagal bago dumating ung load! ISANG ORAS! SOBRA! NAKAKAINIS!!!!
syempre kahit anong explain naming mga retailers na nasa system ng globe ang problema, kami ang napapagalitan ng customer. imbis na dumami customer namin lalo pang nababawasan! bwiset ang globe!
tapos grabe ang network nila. lalo nung christmas tsaka ngayong katatapos lang na new year. (happy new year nga pala sa inyo... =) )
nakakainis ang globe. holiday pa man din tapos maiinis ka lang.
buti pa ang smart, kahit mahal... sulit mo naman binabayad mo.

uy.. i think all the networks experienced heavy traffic last holidays.. sobrang tagal dumating ng messages from smart to sun and vice versa. sa globe? ewan ko lang, halos smart lahat ng friends, classmates and family ko eh..

I was a smart and globe subscriber and now a satisfied Sun subscriber. Just want to point out that it ain't true that their signal is bad. Panalo pa ren when think about the rates. Winner ka talaga since their plans are consummable!
Though, there are things that they are lacking but i'm sure they are working on this. They are;
1.)MMS(sun to globe/smart and vice versa)
2.)No WAP over GPRS
3.)Billing Problems
Once they've solve this three, i think they will beat the crap out of Globe and Smart!

You're absolute right. Both Globe and Smart MIGHT be more advanced by that time. However, it really doesn't matter how much technology they put in. What matters is, the availability of the technology we ONLY NEED for our current lifestyle.

nyeh.. eh sa pagkakasabi mo kase, "no wap over GPRS" eh ano pa meaning non.. anyways... kung may signal ang sun, most probably dapat may signal ang GPRS, magkaiba yun, before, there were times na wala talagang GPRS, minsan, nawawala, pero now, lagi namang meron. now, i thought you were a sun subscriber, kung umaakyat ka pa ng bubong para magka signal, edi lumipat ka na lang.. wala ka pang problema, alam naman nating lahat na bago palang ang sun at definitely ay dadami na rin ang cell sites nila... be open minded.

HINDI ka magsisisi sa Addict Mobile dahil sure ka sa MAGANDANG signal + FAST, STABLE gprs connection + LOW price (Php5) sa MMS downloads.
BAKA lang magsisi kung price ang pag-uusapan kasi kung puro surfing ang gagawin mo, Php0.25/kb ang price ng surfing. hindi FREE.

Looks like GLOBE is being bombarded by heavy 'negative' feedbacks here . . . But those comments were all TRUE !!! Also, this is just the reason why I posted a thread entitled - "Whatever happened to Globe Telecom ?". What I am experiencing now is my problem when sending MMS during peak hours, ' multimedia sending failed' most of the time. The worst thing here is that they deduct the 'unsent' mms to my prevailing prepaid balance account. What I know is that you only charge 'sent' messages and not 'unsent' ones. If Globe does not do anything about these negative querries, I guess their popularity gained way back in '96-'97 will just go down the drain - INEVITABLY !!!

kung may GPRS cellphone ka na, tapos kukuha ka ng Addict Mbl Plan 500, I suggest you get a LINE ONLY subscription. You ask about the 6-MONTH CONTRACT, mas maganda yun kasi after 6 months, di ka na sisingilin ng Pre-Termination if ever u decide to have your line terminated. At pag yun ang kinuha mong contract, di ka na hihingan ng FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS. ang kailangan mo lang dalhin ay ID at PROOF OF BILLING. o, mas madali, right? =)

i recently got a Line Only Sun Plan 250 w/ 1 year contract starting dec. 31, 2003. I had problems with my MMS kasi i can send pero i CANNOT receive, tapos marami na ako tina-try i-download na Polytones, sabi "YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR DOWNLOAD SHORTLY" pero wala kahit isa ang dumating.
nagreklamo na ako sa hotline pero wala sila magawa kundi papuntahin ako sa Sun Shop. Pagdating sa Sun Shop, wala rin sila nagawa, sinabihan na lang ako na kapag natanggap ko yung bill, at may charges na lumabas dun sa failed downloads ko, sumulat na lang daw ako sa kanilang investigation department para i-try ko daw kung mare-refund...
NAPAKA-INUTIL nila...
kung ako sayo ex_crusader, kung gusto mo sila gantihan at talagang hate mo na sila, magpa-SIM SWITCH ka sa addict mobile habang active yung SIM mo. tapos, pumunta ka sa Sun Shop. dalhin mo yung bill mo na may problema. abangan mo na maraming tao. tapos gumawa ka ng eksena. ihagis mo yung bill mo sa harap nila, sabihin mo "GANYAN BA ANG SERBISYO? NILOLOKO NIYO YATA AKO EH! ANONG KLASENG BILL YAN? WALA KAYONG MATATANGGAP NA BAYAD GALING SAKIN! PUTULIN NIYO NA ACCOUNT KO, WALA AKONG PAKIALAM. MGA INUTIL..." tapos umalis ka na.

kahit na sabihin mo na may contract tapos may pre-termination fee, wala naman silang magagawa eh. padadalhan ka kunyari ng legal notice or kung anu-ano. naku! gimik lang nila yun. di ka naman talaga nila mahahabol. maniwala ka dahil ganyan din ang nangyari sa dating postpaid globe ng tatay ko. di nya binayaran dahil may HIDDEN charges yung bill niya dati. hinayaan niya maputol yung line. kung ano-ano ang pinadalang notice sa bahay. o, anong nangyari? wala.
ikaw na bahala mag-isip... hehehe

ang ibig sabihin ko lang naman eh kumuha ka nung plan na SIM lang, walang free phone or anything. kasi pag may free phone, matagal ang contract, pero pag SIM lang, 6 months na ang pinaka-maigsi.

im on addict n i would say i hve no problems on billings, n i suggest if u dnt like any of the phones they give away for free accrding 2 plan rates, get a line(sim) only then maybe after 6 mnths they gve away P8 for plan 800 u cn upgrade n get that phone for free, also they replaced my stolen cell on the spot w/ police report on hand.
Lately i CANNOT surf esato via wap on a t68i or web on a P8 incld opera. blocked na rin i think. Hve 2 warn u on gprs usage u cn get billed +5k if u use it in combo w a PDA.

wap normally is txt based so not much pic dwnloads much cheaper using p900 dan a pda to surf, question is will ur provider allow u access to other sites besides their own wap sites? main gripe is im willing to pay but smart/addict wont allow certain sites na rin

i think smart addict has blocked esato already(no gateway access). ive tried wap.esato.com or mobile.esato.com via gprs yet to no avail. but other sites like nokia.com no problem. it is only with esato. but comparing such minor gripe over globe's limitation at present and 20 months to go, still i would choose smart addict. much wider reach. much wider coverage. sa room ko, full bar smart and globe 1-2 bars and napuputol yung gprs signal. the only consolation with globe is it is free surfing on its wap page and yahoo only(mail and instant messenger). i am sure two years from now, both networks would be using 3g already....a z1010 for everyone!!!!!Yun nga lang, pagandahan ng service at matira matibay!!!!
have you ever wondered? globe is still at 8M subscribers yet smart is already at 13M. Globe was at 8M a couple of years ago.
also i was surprised and amused na pinatulan ng globe yung pasa load 10 ng smart by introducing yung php5.00. akala ko tapos na dun yung laban. pero matindi pala yung sa smart kase may pasa load 2.00 na lang. baka within the year may pasa load na piso na lang!!!! and as from Smart's CS, they have still lots of surprises for us this 2004. aside from Edge, ano pa kaya?????mmmmm.... digital tv viewing (for nokia 7700)....your guess is as good as mine!!!!
