Automatic Bluetooth Detection????

I've got my T610 connecting to my XP machine using Bluetooth fine. File transfer/Sync works fine. However, is there a way to make my PC constantly look for a serial connection, so that when i come within range it automatically performs synchronization without me having to manually open a serial connection on the PC? Would be a nice cherry on the cake......

configure bluetooth to search for nearby devices.

configure your application to keep on connecting at a specified bt com port

My winxp looks for other devices every 1 minute,it wont do it in seconds so thats the lowest i can get it.

There is a setting on my bluetooth application to search for other devices every x minutes (at the moment it is set to 1), but it still doesn't seem to find the phone or synchronize when i walk into the room? I'm not sure if that property in the settings is only used to search for NEW bluetooth hardware, or if it simply checks for any hardware.

that is because it is in between captures and if you wait a while it will pick it up but you must get quite close as the signal must be quite strong

I've left it for ages (5 or 10 minutes) an it still won't find it automatically? Any ideas?

i don't know wheneve i try i only have to wait a matter of 1 or 2 minutes but that is with the device within a metre of my computer

perhaps you've forgotten to turn on the BT in your phone?

Between the bugs and the crashes, I've managed to get this to work once...

if i am not mistaken i believe you cannot get them to auto sync only auto detect

Yeah, I still had to press the "synchronize" button. All that happens when you choose "autosync on connect" is that XTND pops up when your phone is detected.

Yeah I think that might be the case. If I open a serial connection to the phone, XTNDConnect then synchornises with the phone. There is a setting on the bluetooth software to check for bluetooth devices every minute, but i don't think that is working, or if it is it doesn't do anything if it does detect the phone?!?!?

Well, when it was working, all I had to do was walk into the room (with BT-on on the phone), and it would be detected, XTND would pop up. I still had to press the "synchronize" button - pretty dumb...

Usually I just get MAPI errors when I try that though...

Hi. I have a P900 and a Z600 as a 2nd phone. I have the synchronisation via Bluetooth for my P900 working fine, but cannot get it to work for my Z600. My PC and Z600 are paired ok and the serial conection works fine. (I use this to control my phone using my PC to send AT commands via Bluetooth.)

However, I can't get XTND Connect to synchronise the Z600, it starts up, says 'Connecting phone' or something like that, and eventually ays that the phone isn't connected to the PC. I've tried setting up a serial port conection before hitting the synchronisation button in XTND, to no avail. -Couldn't get this working on my T68 or T610 phones either...

Any ideas? I'm running Outlook 2000 under Windows 2000, and use a TDK USB Bluetooth adapter.
