diff between task and appointment

just wanted to ask coz its pretty much the same..they should have just used the memory for something else....coz I dont c the difference..what do u think guys..is there a difference..the task and the appointment?

I always thought of a task like being a to do list item and to me an appointment seems like something different... but that's just me i'm sure it depends on the individual
