Can anyone suggest an e-mail account that sends you a text message when new e-mail received. i.e save dialing in to check for messages.

Vodafone used to do it.

Thanks

Hotmail will but only on a few selected networks at the moment. Go to msn.com to check. They also have an option to place your email address and phone number so they can tell you when the this service for your netwrok is fully functional.

Register online with orange.net and you will get free sms alerts sent directly to your mobile every time you recieve an e-mail.

you can do this on Hotmail - to any UK network - free.

i'll give you a clue:

a: let hotmail believe your based in NY, USA, then you can forward messages to a Pager device via email address.

b: 1 of the 4 major UK networks allows you to login to their site even if your not on their network and you can create a username and password, then forward all email to your mobile.

with these 2 clues you should be able to set it up fairly easy...its a little long winded at first but if you dont try i cant help you.

definitely annoying if you get sent alerts for all email, you should set up rules so only certain messages send you alerts.
ie all from @hotmail.com or filter different names you want.
