well, i've found all sorts of new poly ringtones, they are WMA can i upload them to T610??
Some of them are 11Kb, but some of them are 230 Kb.

Hiya! in the wrong forum again but let me answer.
WMA is not compatible with T610 so you will need to convert them first.
edit: oh, btw... this one is the correct forum.

well i'm kinda new in this...
With what program do i have to convert them???
Posted by masseur
No worries but its worth having a good look around before jumping in...
To be honest I have not seen anything that will convert WMA (windows media audio for those not familiar) to anthying usable on T610 but perhaps someone else has.

@router:
Midi files work on the T610 as polyphonic ringtones. The best site I've found for them is: http://www.mididb.com/

correction people, it's not wma, it's winamp media file, is that the same or???
Posted by coolfighter
wma its not winamp.........wma = windows media audio
Posted by Fritz24
It still won't work. As far as I'm aware the only files that work as ringtones on the T610 are midi (.mid) and e/i-melody (.emy and .imy).
Though I'm sure someone will correct me if this is wrong...

so can I upload winamp media file to T610??
Please say yeah, because i have all new ringtones!!
Posted by Fritz24
See above!
Posted by router
but i'v download some poly ringtones from SE site, and they are also winamp media files!!!
Posted by masseur
Give an example of one the filenames...
Posted by router
like sean paul - get busy, it's abut 11 Kb, and it has extension winamp media file..
Posted by masseur
sorry. I should have said give an example of one of the filenames from DOS or CMD prompt... I was interested in the file extension...
anyway its clear this is definitly a winamp file so its not compatible with T610 directly.

Donīt confuse files playable by Winamp and actual filetypes! Thatīs just a matter of associating file types to Winamp.
On my computer ALL images open in ACDSee, but that donīt make them "ACDSee-files", get the picture?
The t610 plays .MID and .IMY files -period- and unfortunately there is no way to make good sounding midis from .wav or .wma for that matter.
Does this clarify matters or iīm just being confusing?
Posted by router
well, but check this out, i was given an URL with midi files, i've downloaded som and they are also winamp media file...
Posted by masseur
lol! yes I drew my conclusion too quickly. Winamp will play MIDI files and if it happens that MIDI files are associated with winamp on routers PC then they may well be MIDI... hence my last question about file extension (type) to confirm one way or the other what file type these exactly are.
Posted by ThreeX
You donīt get it. They are associated with Winamp. When you installed Winamp you probably assigned it to play all recognizable sound files. You should go into Windows explorer/tools/folder options/view/advanced settings and make sure that "hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked. That way youīll see the file extension in Windows Explorer eg. .txt .doc and .MID see?

i think youre trying to say that the only thing "winamp media file" means is that it can be opened using winamp..? not that the file has a .mid file extension..

i have downloaded a MIDI that is winamp media file. so a sean paul getbusy.MID will will be displayed as a winamp media file if winamp is your default media player. but GETBUSY.MID is still the root file.

This is quite funny.
So router has downloaded a .mid file which Windows Media Player, WinAmp and whole bunch of music related programs will play quite happily. As Fritz24 says the T610 can accept and play .mid and .imy/.emy files. WinAmp when installing has associated any files of .mid type to look like they are WinAmp files so when you click on those files, WinAmp will autoload and play them for you. .WMA stands for Windows Media Audio as Masseur has said. For example my .mid files are associated to Windows Media Player hence when I click on them WMP loads and plays them. But if I had WinAmp then it too could quite happily play the file.
To upload the .mid files to your phone Router simply use Ir, BT, or a cable. There is another thread in this forum discussing the pro's and con's of each. Probably a laptop with Ir or BT on will be your best bet, unless you have a PC with the relevant dongles on.
Fritz nice website especially the pro midi files (the best ones I have heard yet). Unfortunately they still sound like "disco dick" and his amazing casio keyboard!!

@Router, i have been really really looking all over the place for the 'feel good time' song. Can you PLEASE email it to wrecked_porsche@yahoo.com ? I'll check the file extension and let you know if we can use it on our phones. Thank you dude. :-) :-)

@roland harvey
Glad you like the site. Agreed some of the tunes are a bit cheesy. I've got Bitter Sweet Symphony on my phone though and it's excellent, and pretty loud. The Pulp Fiction one is good too.

Anyone of you guys have the feel good time midi? Can you please email it to me? Thanks a bundle :-)
