T28/T68 data cable not working

I bought a T28 data cable from PEC mobile (http://www.peccomputers.co.uk/), and want to use it with my T68. I can't get it to work at all though. I'm using it on Windows XP, but I tried it with Windows 95 on another partition. Doesnt work on either. None of the official software works, and I also tried Mobile Action's software, which doesn't work either. I don't think the cable is the official DRS-10, but will that mean I can't get it to work?
Is it likely the cable is defective, or am I just stupid and bought the wrong cable? And which cable do I need to backup my contacts and calendar?

go to wap.sonyericsson.com and download Mobile Phone Monitor.

This should make it work.

Wot r u doing with it?

If u r doing backrounds get MyPictures as well.
There is all sorts of software on dat site as well for fone->pc and vica versa

I can't seem to get the cable working using XP or 2000. However the guy has assured me that he used the cable with a T68 but couldn't remember which program he used!!

I can't get the cable to work with mobile phone monitor either.

Mrfone: Have you got the cable from this site as well? I either think the cable is defective, or is not a data cable, and just a servicing cable. Have you got the email address for them?

i think you get a service cable, beside you can modify your service cable to data cable.
