hi, n00b reporting for 2nd post
my reason for registering here: DEAD K750i (about 18 mo. old) after "updating" the latest software via USB cable that came with the phone and connecting to the Sony Ericsson service
have had cell phones since 1999, back during college days when I was more susceptible to "glittery new technology offers" and I have to tilt head here and there to get good reception on the phone
what else should I share with you guys? beside my actual headache that had been hanging on my head for 4 days, my sick kid that screams loudly, my dead phone that I intend to revive because I had no extra $$ to get a new phone? *sniff*

Found my way here thanks to good old Google. Sony Ericsson Z200 is playing up in that keypad shortcuts no longer work and the address book has everything in duplicate! On Virgin Mobile (this is my third from them).
I only ever use it as a phone and only bought it because it was the cheapest in the Megastore at the time and I liked the look of it. Always found staff helpful but they haven't been able to help on this one.
I assume I need to post this in another section and wonder whether General or Technical is most appropriate.
Edit to add: I'll just go for General

opps it appears that i should have posted here first. Sorry!. Long time sony ericsson user here going back to cf788, flirted with a nokia 8290 for a while, then came back to my senses with a T68i, t300i, t610, t630, k700i, w800i, w810i, w850i a brief lapse of stupidity with a blackberry pearl,and now a k790a.

New to Esato and new to Sony Ericsson Mobiles. Been hooked on Siemens for years but, (looking back), they have been poor on longevity! Any how got a new Sony Ericsson K800i last week and WOWEE!
Bought it from The Carphone Warehouse for £130 inc an O2 sim with £10 on it. Walked up the street and saw it in O2 mobile shop @ £110 inc sim with £10 credit ---> £20 CHEAPER ! ! ! Went back to The CPW and demanded my money back or a price match as I paid for it with my credit card (14 day cooling off period with all purchases etc.). The woman in the shop was a total bitch giving me "I told you no exchange etc etc. when you bought it". I just stood my ground and she eventually rang the head office. The bloke there said that he would send me a cheque for £20 in 3-4 weeks in the post...
Well it's week 2 and no sign but fingers crossed. It was the first and last time I will ever use CPW! Bad customer service in my experience (and several customers who came in the shop while I was there!).
Anyway new Sony mobile and I am quite impressed with it (few bugs in the software but you got to expect some now-a-days with all the technology etc.!). I bought a 2Gig card for it for £20 and have downloaded some themes etc from various sites (inc. here ThanX people).
Going to av a look around and see what information I can find. Nice forum/good crowd CU around

I've got a K810i Coming for me tomorrow

I've mainly had SE phones however, I must have fallen to the dark side, as my current phone (until tomorrow) was an LG Chocolate. I am so happy that I'm finally getting rid of that piece of..ahem.
I've had a Z7e, T610, K700i and tomorrow, (well today as it's 3:25am here in the UK), a K810i.
The K810i, is going to come with an Awful looking huge Orange logo just beneath the screen.. How can I remove that and get the SE CyberShot text back there?? I.E How have you done it? Do I just need to buy an original SE Housing?
I live in the UK, Born and Bred. Self Employed I.T Consultant, Computer Repairs and Services...So can't wait to get messing with my K810i.
Plus have a forum for Business Owners.
